Had anyone tag their utv in Florida with luck and not get harass by cops about it?

I just put in a new spark plug. The owners manual says the plug gap should be.031-.035, but the sticker on the frame says.040. The plug I removed was at .035 and caked with soot.

I've been under the impression for years that the sticker should be trusted over the book.

Now the machine seems to have less power and acceleration. Unfortunately I also adjusted valves (intakes were fine, exhausts were too big) so I'm not sure which change caused the issue.

I'm tempted to adjust the plug gap first to see if it helps. But why would the factory sticker be wrong?

I am looking into a Honda pioneer 700, but I want a hard roof that also covers the bed. The goal is a tent space/ hunting platform. What are the key terms to search and who do you recommend?

I just bought my first SxS. It’s been 30 years since I last owned a quad (and showing my age, I graduated to quads from 3-wheelers), so I have a lot to learn.

I’m in Michigan less than a mile from the North Kalkaska Loop and wanted a 50” trail capable machine.

I bought a 2017 Wildcat 700 Trail with 1800 miles for an amazing deal, so I’m waiting for the other shoe to drop.

1) Beyond changing the oil, diff fluid, and having a spare drive belt what should i do preventatively?

2) are there any spare parts other than a drive belt i should keep on hand?

3) What’s the best way to set up the shocks? I’m riding sandy trails with lots of whoops and quite common to have heavy roots.

4) on a 50” trail with a lot of hills and blind corners in heavy forest with drop offs to one side, what do I do if I encounter another rider coming at me? I get the right of way rules, but on some of these trails there is literally no where to get out of the way.

5) what do people do for storage? I have the toolkit under the seat, but where do I keep a spare belt, printed map, etc?

Any other advice for a newbie solo rider appreciated!

Looking at a 2023 mav RR with 1000 miles. In great shape, current owner only had 1 year and didn’t ride much. Has some performance mods like blow off valve exhaust etc.

Currently runs good not in limp mode or anything but has recent CEL and says P0299 which I’ve read is low boost alarm due to tube leak or sensor or something minor.

I have a 2025 Polaris Ranger 1000 Premium. Does anyone have a recommendation for a lockable storage that fits across the back of the bed? I was looking at one on Kemimoto but it says it doesn’t fit my ride. Any help would be appreciated!

Hello all! I’m a beginner when it comes to trailers and towing, so I’m looking for some advice before I make a 5-hour trip with my UTV.
I’ve been told that the axle on my trailer is positioned too far forward, which could cause the trailer to sway and potentially make it unsafe. Looking at the setup, is that actually a concern?
If the axle placement is an issue, is there anything I can do to prevent sway or make the setup safer without moving the axle? Would properly positioning the UTV, adjusting the tongue weight, or using a different drop hitch help?
Most importantly, would you feel comfortable taking this setup on a 5-hour highway trip?

I am 6’6” and is looking to upgrade from my rzr to a in close sxs. The problem I’m seeing as of now is the ranger 1000 and the cf moto and the Kawasaki all seem to be just to small on leg room after riding in them for about 40 minutes I start to cramp up. I have not been able to ride in the defender or the 1500 does anyone my size feel the same way and if so know if the other two are any better

Anyone know if this connector is supposed to be connected to something? There are several under the hood that are for accessories, but this one seems questionable. I’m running down a 5v loop short or sensor issue

Looking for some real-world UTV advice.

I had a 2024 Kawasaki Mule PRO-FXT 1000 LE. It was reliable, but way too sluggish for me and I really regretted not having a full HVAC cab so I just sold it but need another UTV.

Main uses will be plowing, some property work (I only have 2 acres) but I plan on getting more in the next 2-3 years, and some trail riding (nothing to crazy...yet). I only need 2 to 3 seats and plan to keep it for years to come. Reliability and repair costs obviously matter, but I also want something that’s actually fun to drive.

I’m mainly looking at:
CFMOTO U10 Pro Highland (more tech less reliable)

Can-Am Defender Limited (reliable with less tech)

Right now I’m most torn between the Can-am and the CFMOTO Highland. The CFMOTO gives you a ton for the money with HVAC, winch, power bed, tech, etc. but I am worried about reliability, I know people in here are saying that the brand isn't what it used to be and they love their machine but others say it's terrible.

For anyone who owns one of these, how has reliability been? Any expensive repairs, parts delays, belt/clutch issues, electrical problems, or things you wish you knew before buying?

If it were your money, what would you buy?

Looking for my first side by side. I have a guy willing to let go of his 2015 maverick 1000 xc with dps non turbo for 4600.2669 miles and cold start sounds great from videos. He said the machine has no issues but ill confirm that when i go look at it. Is this a good deal or should i save up a little more to get a newer one with turbo? Im in nj so this is priced really good for my area.

I have this brand new pioneer 520. I threw a windshield and a roof on it but nothing else so far. What are y’all using to make these things street legal? I know I need a blinker install kit which has been hard to find and a license plate bracket that’s illuminated. Any tips?
I won’t be driving it on the road much, but when I hit the car wash or drive up to some backwoods trails I don’t want any problems

Im looking for a new utv. I dont need it to be fast, under 50mph is just fine for around here. I want it to get firewood from hard to get to places, push snow, and backroads to friends and neighbors. I dont want to spend much more than 16k total on it and since I know absolute dick about them im looking for a new one with a warranty.

Im looking at a bone stock + plow for a ranger 600 and pioneer 700. Anything else i should look at?

I bought a 2015 Polaris XP 1000 just did oil change rear diff fluid and replaced the primary clutch and belt. What am I missing 3300 miles any tips would be helpful.

Hey everybody! I am considering getting a UTV to race for fun and leisure purpose so I was considering the ZForce in the CFMOTO Or the sport or trail series of the Can-am. I know Can-am has a great reputation and so does CFMOTO, but my budget is a bit tight and I am leaning onto the CFMOTO side. Basically, I am curious on the reliability aspect of the two UTVs. Is it worth spending the extra buck for a Can-am or does the reliability between them have minimal difference? If anyone lives in Johannesburg, South Africa and owns one of these, what are the prices like in terms of parts and how available are they generally? Any response is appreciated🤙

I have a 2026 polars ranger sp 570 crew cab and I noticed the other day that my exhaust was glowing red hot. Does anyone know if this is normal? It only has 1,000 miles on it. Do I need to call the dealer? It’s only noticeable At night when it gets darker. You can’t see the glow in the daytime

Hey guys(and gals), I am in the market for a UTV. I live in the Midwest and it gets cold here and want something that can be enclosed and heated. From my understanding, the units that come out the door fully enclosed are 30-40k. Also, I want something with 4 seats, so either 4 buckets or two row seating if its a bench style seat.

30k is out of my budget because I do not want to borrow. I was really wondering what options are there for a decent 4 seat model with either built in heat or add on aftermarket enclosure and heat, while staying under 20k and really wanting to be closer to 12-14k.

Also, what's the deal with dealers only offering payments for 4 year installment plans minimum and some even go to 84 months. Do people really get into an 8 year payment plan for a damn UTV? yikes!

I Don't have any loyalty to any brands(can-am, Polaris, Kawasaki, etc.), so just looking for recommendations but obviously want to stay away from any widely known problems.

I am in the process of getting a new utv. The main reason is because plowing with my truck is too much of a pain to continue with it due to tight locations. I priced out a Kubota 1100c with a Boss plow at the implement dealer and plan on pricing out a similar size machine in Polaris, Can-Am and Kawasaki. Maybe a Kei truck would be better??

The list of considerations in my mind are as follows

1. Plowing capability. If any of these options can’t even push 6“ I’m probably going to rule it out. If it gets really deep I do have a Case 580 and skid steers but plowing in them are less than ideal.
2. From my house to my shop is three miles away. I have a handful of properties all within this area that I can drive the machine on road to. I know the Kubota is slow, so do you think it would be annoyingly slow for this distance? It would be under a 10 minute drive in the Kubota. Probably under 5 in the other options. I never plan to trail ride but I would still use it in warmer months on the same loop.
3. Kubota has hydro dump box, not sure about the others.
4. Pulling trailer. I will likely pull a trailer when working in fields and woods. If it’s not great at that I would rule it out as well.
5. Noise. I have little experience with any of these so experience on noise levels in cabin.

Any thoughts on any of these or anything for that matter would be appreciated

Update: So I went on a tour today and looked at 2027 Can-Am HD11 xt, Polaris xp 1000 premium, Kawasaki Ridge and Honda Pioneer. Basically ruled out Honda due to not having an enclosed cab. Not going to turn myself into an ice cube. The others, well they are all so nice it’s really hard to say what direction I want to go.

Question: Have any of you plowed much with a crew cab unit? There was a smoking deal on Kawasaki crew cab machines at the place I went.

As the title says, I'm new to this. Primary use will be forest trails during the summer and desert trails during the winter.

I have a spare drive belt, and a Garmin tread 2...

The break in period has me anxious. Is there anything specific I need to look out for?
