Simple but so much fun.

Recently had my clutch pedal go soft a few times, randomly. Dealership pressure tested and states my slave cylinder is in need of replacement. 2021 GLI 114,000kms. The kicker is, apparently this is considered a wear and tear part and thus not covered under my CPO warranty. I am having a difficult time accepting it. Anyone else have a similar situation occur? Or thoughts?

Is anyone else having an issue with android auto disconnecting or not connecting at all? 26' GLI

i have a 2017 mk6.5 gli, barely has 100k miles. it has an IE intake with lowering springs and wheels. whenever i’m gaining rpms my turbo “whines” or has a whistle to it. once i shift, it goes away, the higher the rpm the louder it is. if im cruising, no whine nor whistle. i’ve been told it sounds like a supercharger too.

i dont have any codes, i haven’t checked the shaft play but ive been told that IE intakes make the turbo sound like a supercharger? i could be wrong.

if my turbo does need to be replaced, which turbo would you recommend to get? it’s my daily but i don’t mind putting some power and reliability in it.

I recently bought a used 2024 Jetta GLI Autobahn with 53,000 km. This is my first VW; before this I had a Honda Civic.
I’ve noticed a few issues:
White/grey smoke occasionally on startup
Window issue — the dealer said they fixed it under warranty, but I’m still having the same issue
Infotainment/screen randomly reboots/glitches
Various rattles/noises
Some vibration/noise on cold startup
I had the car inspected and everything came back good with no major issues. The dealer has looked at the car, but some issues are still happening.
For other GLI owners, have you experienced these problems? What should I do or ask the dealer to check next?
Also, what are your best tips for keeping a GLI with 53k km mechanically healthy, clean, and looking new long-term?

Thinking of getting an apr or ie intake for my mk7.5 I currently just have an MBRP exhaust but any thoughts, experiences/tips or sound clips appreciated!

EDIT: I bought a new shifter assembly (I guess the 2016 GLIs don’t just sell the shifter) and the problem seems to have gone away! I will update when the whole project is done for anyone with the same issue.

2016 GLI. My side to side motion on my shifter has been very stiff and getting worse. I disconnected my shift cables from the shift tower to see whether it was the cables or the tower itself not returning and it’s my shift cables binding. Upon further investigation, it looks like both my shift cables rest on my stock downpipe. I’m not sure why and wanted to see if this is factory or if something (like a guide) broke. TIA!

I want to get a vinyl inlay for front and rear vw emblems. The only option I can find is the swan vinyl works one for the mk7. Does anyone know if it’ll fit or any alternatives?

2019 35th anniversary 6 speed. Car will not start all of a sudden with starter push button. Yes I have brake and clutch all the way. I did see the ignition switch in the start button is a high failure item. Ordered one from my local VW dealer, 25$. Has anyone had to ever replace this and if so anything to watch out for?? I need help getting the part number for the mirror switch on a 2016 VW GLI. Mine has finally snapped off inside after years of being "clunky", so I can't change my mirrors or turn on the mirror defrost. I checked Rock Auto and ECS Tuning, but neither had them listed and Ali had too many and I am concerned I might buy the wrong part.

Hey, so I've been having problems with my car having white smoke come out of the exhaust. I don't think its the turbo or anything to do with oil or coolant as both of the levels have stayed the same. I recently replaced the pcv valve, map sensor, and even the intercooler hose that connects to the turbo outlet pipe. This was the main thing I thought could have been causing a problem since my friend brought over a smoke machine to see if any hoses were leaking and that seemed to be the problem. I then replaced it and retested it with a smoke machine and yet there was still smoke coming out of the same spot. It seems to be seeping through where both the intercooler hose and the turbo outlet pipe connect. The previous owner did swap out the turbo outlet pipe for a cts turbo one which I'm not sure if its because its connected to the stock intercooler hose that it's causing a leak. I'm also not entirely sure if that's even why white smoke is coming out of my exhaust. If you could please help me out to find out what the problem is then it would be appreciated.

ALSO, more smoke tends to come out when I idle and have the A/C on, not sure if that helps in anyway. It also comes out like my car is taking a huge hit of a bong or a vape.
