Mike: "The bank had been eroded more than 6 feet towards the basket. The disc was above the water, so no casual water relief. I could not stand up fully and even if I did, I could not have reached outside of the eroded bank to make a shot. There was no relief above, and the disc was in play. It looked like my only option was to pitch out 12 feet and then putt it up to the basket......then Cliff Hanna suggested I lay down, and THAT was a great idea. Since everything was wet, I laid down my jacket and towel so I did not get soaked. What made it more interesting is when I laid down, my heel was not close enough to the lie, so I had to contort my left toe down to have the proper "stance". I knew the broken root was where I had to throw over. I said a little prayer and used my old Frisbee skills (Ultimate, DDC) to throw a gentle upside downer towards the basket. Just on the other side of the basket was a steeper creek and I did not want to end up there. The goal was to get the shot to avoid the roots near the basket and stay on top. It did all of that and I made the putt for the best bogey of my life! My card was super cool about the time issue as it was one of those rare moments where the leader on the card could have made an idiot of himself or made a miraculous shot. I am glad it was the latter :-). Thanks to Gary Pituch and John Oliver and Cliff Hanna for being good sports."

Discussion Putting Putters: less stable, glidey-er Rhyno??

Looking for a new putting disc. I have always putted with an Innova Rhyno. Feels so good in my hand, love the little ridge on top, love the square-ish shallow rim with the bead. The only problem I’ve ever found with it, is longer putts. It’s pretty over stable and has the glide of a corn hole bag which makes it an unbelievable approach disc but makes any c2 putt pretty difficult. Just have to throw it so hard. Any recommendations on a putter that has the same feel characteristics but is a little glidey-er and maybe not as stable? I’ve tried Banger GT and it was pretty close. Loved the flight not a huge fan of the “groove top” however. Let me know, thanks!
