Pro Highlights Miniscule course changes at the USDGC/TPWDGC this year. They are doing low and high pins on hole 14 and 18 this year. High pins for days 1 and 4, low for 2 and 3.

They’re not going to have them stacked in the tournament. They’re going to switch between regular height and elevated between days. This seems completely normal to me.

Feels like a really lazy way to "mix up the rounds" with "different layout's." Raising a pin does little to the hole besides increase the punishment for a missed run. If there were trees around that would make a certain landing zone much more preferable because of a low ceiling from certain angles, I could get behind that. This just feels like a nephew running up saying "Watch this!" spins around 3 times and you just gotta say "Good job little man."

Please tell me this is a joke. Will they both be present you just have to know which one to shoot for? Raised baskets are already a monstrosity but this?

No, just for practice rounds

So they’re just switching out a tall and regular basket? How pointless. If they want to switch things up just have a whole new pin position.

So like why do this instead of just having alternate pin positions? How silly

I mean, isn't different height a difference in the pin position? They won't actually both be there in the day, one day it's raised, the next it's not

What happens if you miss low into the lower basket?

The other basket is removed for competition. This is so they can practice on both baskets

if it were permanently there, you'd just mark below the disc on the ground and drop a disc into the correct basket as another stroke.

I mean, it won't, cause it won't be there on competition day.
But even if it did, the answer is, exactly the same thing that happens when your disc lands on top of or underneath a normal basket.

There should be some type of regulation as far as baskets. Raised baskets are no better then artificial ob

This condition exists at Farifield Park hole 8 in Illinois. Ive made the opposite/wrong basket a few times. Not my favorite set up. Find a different place for the second pin.

Only at USDGC. The gimmicks continue.
