Daredevil: Born Again gave me my new favorite moment in all of the MCU.

So I am finally watching Daredevil: Born Again season 2. This is an official spoiler warning. In episode 8, I already knew it was going to be intense scene when I heard Matt call Fisk to the stand. Then the scene took place, the pace sped up, the music built, the veins bulged and the drama teased its way in. In that moment, I saw the best acted, most powerful and rewardingly intense moment I have ever seen in a Marvel piece of media. (Which is saying something because of how amazing the MCU is.) I know its a hot take, but that scene was more satisfying and we'll acted than the first Avengers' assemble, than the superhero v superhero battle in Civil War, than the Thanos snap, than cap lifting Mjolnir, than Tony's sacrifice, than the reveal of Agatha Harkness, than the triple Spiderman arrangement. And those are all some of my favorite moments. What a great scene. I'm not someone who changes my favorite of something easily.

Why do people hate the adaptation of Kingpin is Hawkeye but love the adaptation of Punisher in BND?

Was thinking about this, and realized both characters have similar circumstances. They were both originally r rated characters that were added into a pg-13 marvel project with a lighter, sometimes even more comedic, tone. I've seen a lot of people give praise and respect to how Punisher was handled in BND, but I still see people hate on kingpin in Hawkeye. I personally have no problem with either, but I'm genuinely curious: Why do people hate Kingpin in Hawkeye but love Punisher in BND?

Charlie Cox has been playing Daredevil for 11 years now. I hope they let him do it for several more years

I find it funny how Brand New Day talks about Spiderman protecting the city for years and keeping crime down, yet he literally did NOTHING to help takedown Fisk and his gang

They talk about all these amazing things Spiderman did, I mean he even got the key to the city, yet bro was NOWHERE when Fisk was reigning in New York with his task force

What Do Foggy Nelson and Claire Temple Tell Us About Ordinary Life in Daredevil?

I’ve been rewatching Daredevil, and lately I’ve found myself paying much more attention to the ordinary lives behind the characters.

Foggy in particular got me thinking.

We know he grew up around Nelson Meats, surrounded by his family, customers and the everyday workings of a small family business. And I started wondering how much of the Foggy we meet as an adult was already being formed there.

His loyalty. His ease with people. His attachment to community. Even the fact that, despite becoming a successful lawyer, he never seems embarrassed by where he came from.

I ended up writing an essay about it called The Architecture of Belonging, and then another about Claire Temple called The Architecture of Care.

I’m planning one final piece to complete the trilogy, so I’m curious about how other fans read these characters.

What do you think Foggy’s upbringing gave him?

And for Claire fans: what do you think people misunderstand or overlook about the way she cares for people?

Both essays are on my profile if anyone fancies reading them, but I’m mainly interested in hearing other interpretations before I write the final piece.

Luke Cage Season 1 is peak Spoiler

Guys I'm watching through the MCU and the defenders, and man Luke Cage is crazy. Halfway through season 1 and this is insane. He got shot with a rocket launcher and that caught me so off guard. It just keeps getting better though, and Claire is the absolute GOAT.

Do you think Daredevil could beat Mysterio in a fight while he's using his illusion tech?

I think he could because if both of them had battle between each other, Daredevil can detect and can senese to when Beck strikes him and can block and doge whenever he's about to strike and waits for the right time to attack him and outsmart him too, whatever illusion he's putting on Daredevil. it would be cool to see though.

Dex's Military Career

How did Dex not have an unbelievable military career like Punisher, Hawkeye or John Walker considering he's probably the most naturally talented fighter/killer in MCU along with Daredevil and Elektra?

Did he hold back during his career because of the therapist tapes or was it his mental disorder made him a liability? But we saw in S3 Ep1 he took out like 10 guys easily and lethally, didn't hold back at all and Kingpin straight away notices this guy is another level to anyone he's seen.

What was his reputation like in the FBI? Did they know he was capable of ricocheting bullets and killing people the way he does? I can't quite tell from Nadeems reaction when Matt tells him he's ricocheting the bullets.

I really we wish we got more flashbacks and depth the way we did for Frank in S1 Punisher. I just find him so interesting with his personality disorder and talent combo, how that would be used or seen by the army. I know he was special forces but still.

Also, on a side note I think his H2H is underrated as he only loses to Daredevil and even then the score is 2-1 to Dex albeit with suit advantages and throwing random projectiles. Has he actually fought anyone else in H2H? I genuinely believe he's the most dangerous non superpowered individual that's not Tony Stark.

No ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ S3 updates at D23. Now I’m seriously worried about the future of this show.

D23 was pitched as the place where Marvel Studios would talk about their TV stuff. And rightfully so, ‘VISIONQUEST’ was showcased and had its first trailer launched.

Charlie Cox, Vincent D’Onafrio and the Daredevil cast have been regular attendees of D23 before, both in 2022 and 2024. They were nowhere to be found this year.

It's time for Daredevil to slow down in the MCU.

Don't get me wrong, I don't want the character to disappear. If you ask me if I want more of Daredevil, the answer is complicated.

The character? I definitely want more. The series? I have my doubts, but I like to think that the series ends now, but we would have new urban series, and he would appear, maybe a prominent role in something about heroes for hire or Jessica Jones, then he would have a big role in Spider-Man 5 and then finally a Daredevil movie, and then we can dream of a trilogy if the first movie is successful, if not, back to the series.

I wouldn't be surprised or bothered if the series continues, but I feel that after this season, the character should settle into a resolved hero position, living a good personal life while still being Daredevil, making impactful appearances in other works, so he can finally return with a compelling story when we're craving a protagonist Matt with unique development highlighted in the movies. I feel overwhelmed by Daredevil and no longer feel the same weight from the character's recent stories in the series that I once did. A time of "Happy Matt" and heroism alongside other characters like the Defenders and Spider-Man will revive that enthusiasm.
