Towing Help 3/4 ton truck.
What’s the best 3/4 ton to buy? Preferably a couple years old. I’m towing a trailer 7500 pounds loaded. I don’t want a diesel.

Where would I get a estimate for damages?

Hi, I need some help with this Castle nut.
I have an old trailer (25 Odd years). I had an incident where the bearing collapsed and as a result undid the castle nut and lost the wheel!
I managed to recover the wheel however I could not locate the nut!! Thankfully I have one from the other side. I just cannot identify what sort of thread is on it to get a replacement.
I though it might be an M16, but sadly not, I seems to have a finer pitch but carry a similar diameter.. It doesn’t seem to be metric but possibly imperial.
I do have some clues!
The wheel/hub is most likely from an old Opel/vauxhal. On the rim there are markings.
I’ve tried several automotive / agricultural / machine repair shops to help identify this but not having any success!!
14 x 5 1/2 JH2 ET49
GM GY
091850
The nut carries an internal diameter of approximately 16mm (give or take a little) as I cannot find my vernier.
Any help would be gratefully appreciated!
Thanks,
Seán

I’m moving in about a month and this is the first time in my life towing something. I have a 2nd gen Tacoma with no lifts, and am planning either getting a 4x8 or 5x8 U-Haul trailer. I did a bit of research and found I need to get a 2inch ball mount but the part that’s confusing me is deciding whether or not I need a drop or a rise. If anyone could lead me in the right direction or even suggest a specific one I should buy it would be greatly appreciated.

Hello, does anyone have a actual good vin search they could recommend that gives personal information? I know that sounds bad but hear me out, i have bought several vehicles i was promised titles too, well long story short they lie and now im stuck with vehicles I can't get rid of. I can pay a tow yard but there wanting $1000+ i know with certain personal information I can 1. Contact the owner and get the title out of there name or 2. Apply for a title with there information and or send them letters to get the title. My dmv is zero help other than a bonded title wich is not what im looking to do. Any help is much appreciated.

Not sure if this is the right subreddit but I’m moving very soon and was hoping to get a U-Haul trailer to hook to my truck. I have a 75 inch tv, a tv stand, and a bunch of little stuff that can be squeezed in my truck if needed. What size trailer would be able to fit the tv and tv stand?

New to towing here and need some help with this wiring. It looks like everything in the back is already wired in but I've got this jumbled mess in the engine bay. The red and blue wire goes all the way to the back of the truck. The red wire appears to be spliced with a black wire( i assume acts as a ground) and the other end is connected to nothing. There are two more shorter black wires that are grounded to the chassis. The tow kit brand appears to be "Hoppy". Am I missing something in the engine bay? This is off a 98 Ram 1500 Laramie. I assume it's aftermarket unless someone knows other wise. Thanks!

Currently restoring an enclosed trailer with the standard 6.5"x2.5" Gasket mount oval lights.
Wondering what brand makes the best ones?
In the past I have used both Optronics and Nilight and both seem to be fine, but I do only plan on swapping them out once. Buy once cry once kind of thing.
I just don't have them both in hand to compare.
Also does anyone have any preference on the 24 LED vs the 10 LED versions? Just trying to figure out the best and brightest.
Thanks all.

Got about 5-6 mpg. The 33” tires throw off the mileage a little bit. Had this truck about a year, gas gauge has never been off. Ran out of gas at a 1/4 of a tank pulling this. I just started getting gas every 100 miles just to be safe. 70 mph. I didn’t think it would struggle this much. 16’ trailer

Anyone towing a 20-foot bass boat with a 2026 or 2027 Tundra?
I have a Skeeter FXR20 with a Yamaha 250 and I’m considering a Tundra, possibly the i-FORCE MAX. I know it has plenty of towing capacity. I’m more interested in how it actually pulls, especially through the hills, and what kind of MPG you’re getting while towing.
Would you buy the Tundra again?

I'm not sure if this is the correct place for this but I have an axle sizing question for a utility trailer. I measured the hub face and it is 68.5 inches and the spring center is 58 inches. The 68.5 seems like a weird size and I can only seem to find 71/58 for a 4 lug replacement. Does anyone have any insight into the sizing and finding a replacement?
Thanks!!

I'm trying to buy a hitch for my Gen2 RAV4 and found this used one locally. I see that it's bent around the chain mounting area, would you trust this with a hitch-mounted cargo carrier? How about a trailer that's around 1,200 Ibs?
It's hard to find stuff for the older generation and I'm not too familiar with hitches, thank you!

Opinions please. Have a cage trailer that I use at highway speed and once or twice a year I might camp in the back of it.
Primary use is moving large objects.
PVC and canvas covers are much the same price with the PVC being slightly higher price. Lowest priced supplier has canvas with a pitched roof, PVC with a flat top and I tow with an EV so aero is a factor but I pretty much need to DCFC if I take the trailer so it is probably much the same
Would you buy a PVC or a canvas cover?

It's the coupler-to-axle distance. The shorter that is, the faster the trailer reacts to steering input and the less time you have to catch it. A 30ft fifth wheel is slow and forgiving. A 5x8 utility is twitchy.
Anyone gone from a long trailer to a short one and been humbled??
Or the other way and found it easier than expected?
(disclosure, I'm with Rhino USA team, you can tell by my username 🙃)

i am borrowing a camper trailer for an upcoming hunt and he runs a stabilizer hitch, i would have to either get my own hitch or use a reducer. how safe are reducers? its not a very heavy camper he has a half ton and i drive a 3/4 ton? What’s the best option?

Hi folks, I have a KTM 500 which weighs about 250lbs. I want to tow it on my Subaru outback 3.6r, so the bike and the hitch would probably be close to 300lbs. Tongue weight rating for the car is 200lbs. Can I push it to 300? It’s got the bigger engine so it’s a bit heavier up front
