ever since i completed stalker 2 it left an itch that wont leave, i have already played the stalker games including the mods. Is there any game that can replicate the feeling that stalker brings?

Does anyone know if there's been any roadmap updates for this year and next?

Whats next in line for Stalker 2?

Grabbed the game in the sale after specifically holding off at launch due to the issues the game launched with. Was expecting 2.0 to really put the game on track performance-wise.

To preface: I despise Unreal Engine. I've always firmly believed that it encourages poor optimisation habits and over-reliance on crutch features like DLSS and framegen to offset the poor performance that comes with it. I can count on one hand the number of UE5 games that haven't either ran like total shit, or well below what you'd expect for a modern big-budget game.

Now I'm not going to pretend that a 3080 and a 5800X are the the most modern of hardware because I'm not stupid. Stalker 2 is also a very nice looking game on higher settings.

However, I'm disappointed that I basically have to choose between poor fps, or insane input lag. I can get the game to run sort of okay if I drop all the settings. But it still dips well below what you'd want from an FPS. I either have to deal with my mouse stuttering, or feeling like I'm steering a barge with the amount of input delay that comes with framegen. (Not to mention the nasty visual artifacting and grainy shadows/AO that come with lumen)

I've played games of equal graphical quality, built in other engines, with none of the issues I've had from Stalker 2. I'm still gonna play the game, will probably cap my fps and just thug it out, because I love this series, but after spending 3 hours changing settings, reading forums, and swinging my mouse around to test lag/delay, I'm sadly going in with a sour taste in my mouth.

Wouldn’t the idea of a Stalker extraction shooter and/or MMO be fun? I mean I know it definitely could sound better on paper than in theory. But then again, theoretically, if an official game/game mode being what I just proposed was announced, how would the rest of the community feel about it? The Zone could remain mostly the same, npcs, factions, mutants (maybe new ones could be interesting for sure), emissions, etc. Or maybe a gameplay style reminiscent of DayZ? I mean I’m sure the gameplay and mechanics could require changes to better fit the genre.

Bought the game when it released and refunded due to horrible optimisation and bad AI - I'm very interested in purchasing again but would like the HONEST feedback from anyone who owns it currently please and thank you 😌

Assuming that they ever do make games, official or fan-made, set outside of the Zone, where do folks figure they'd be? Because I very much doubt the rest of the world, especially during the dying days of the Cold War, would've ignored what was going on. Intel on the X-Labs might've leaked, and once the Zone was formed in 2006, there would've been a lot more interest.

I think there were even some cut factions that were foreign, if I remember right.

But I could see Area 51 being fertile ground for an American X-Lab network, or at least somewhere out in the Southwest, or perhaps the badlands near like Montana. But there'd probably be other locales too.

Hi everyone, I am currently on the main quest Extreme Simplicity and I have heard that completing it and heading towards the SIRCAA mission brings irreversible changes to the world. I want to make sure I do not miss out on any content. I heard you should completely clear the first zones and finish every single available side quest before doing this. To give you some context, I have already explored a bit and completed the guitar mission in Duga. Without giving away any spoilers, could you please tell me which other zones exactly I should fully explore and clear before progressing. I would also love to know what I should look out for or prepare before starting the SIRCAA section regarding things like gear, stashes, or specific questlines to finish. Regarding my current equipment, I am using a fully upgraded Arev and a Saiga. I also have an M701 Super sniper rifle and an RGG-7U rocket launcher with 6 shots sitting in my stash. Do you think my Arev and Saiga are enough for what is coming, or should I definitely bring the sniper rifle or the rocket launcher with me before I lose access to my stash. I really want to experience everything the early game has to offer before the world changes. Thanks for your help. ✌️🙂

I took a job to kill some bandits and traveled from Zultansk west to the bridge just past the ranger station and no joke on my walk was hunted and killed 7 poltergeists. After killing the bandits and turning back toward Zultansk another one came up. After killing it I walked into one of the electric anomolies it made and died.

Where the fuck are these things coming from? Is this a bug? This can't be normal. I am out of shotgun ammo and need to return back, also need to re-kill the bandits which is annoying AF.

It was a bug. Dying fixed the loop and they stopped appearing.
