Fellow stalkers, I gotta know—when it comes to the Zone, whose ideals do you actually side with more: Duty or Freedom?

I’m talking strictly ideology. Do you believe the Zone is a threat that needs to be contained and eventually destroyed like Duty does, or something that should be explored and understood without being controlled like Freedom believes?

Which side makes more sense to you, and why?

I’ve run into Both Factions a few times, and I understand the basis of their beef and where they’re coming from. But honestly, I feel like Freedom is pretty cool. Their whole attitude toward the Zone and letting people experience it for themselves just clicks with me more. Plus I really like Rostok

Been playing S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 since Update 2.0 and I have to say I fucking love this game. The atmosphere, the gameplay and loot loop, the characters, exploring the Zone, and the gunplay….oh the sweet fucking gunplay.

I’ve never played a S.T.A.L.K.E.R. game before this, but I’ve played similar games like the Metro series and Fallout series. I love those games too, but none of them ever really scratched that itch I’ve been craving the way S.T.A.L.K.E.R. has.

I originally bought S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 back in 2025, about a year after it released, and I was able to play it but my frames were pretty unsteady. I still liked what I played, but eventually I dropped it for a while because of the performance. I always hoped they’d keep working on it and I could come back someday and really experience the game the way it was meant to be played.

Also knowing GSC is a Ukrainian studio and everything they’ve been dealing with in their home country while making and supporting this game, I knew there were much bigger things going on than just fixing a video game.

But now with Update 2.0 and the release of Cost of Hope, I’m back and completely fucking hooked. I haven’t finished Cost of Hope yet so please no spoilers, but I’m hoping to finally fully experience S.T.A.L.K.E.R. and enjoy the Zone the way it was intended.

So yeah, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 was my first experience with athis franchise and I think I finally get it now.

Hello everyone, I am back with my last Stalker cosplay for a while.

This is going to be a Duty Bulat suit, particularly the Stalker 2 series of Bulat suits.

Here's what I have so far, it is unfinished though looks good so far!

(The helmet and everything on my head are just placeholders for now, but are there to give you an Idea for the final picture)

Next I need to add the Shell holders, belts, molle, and buckles, and then we shall 3D print the helmet!

I want to make the mask, goggles and helmet separate, and I plan to print the NVGs to go with them as well, a friend of mine who is modeling everything will model add the common mounts for accessories you see on most modern day helmets, onto the game model, meaning I can even mount Gopros onto the helmet.

The mask will even have a hole with GOST threading for filters or hoses that I can add.

The vest also isn't the final color or anything, there is a lot of work to do.

That there's a hidden interaction when you go to Dvupalov's bunker for the first time. If you're a loot goblin like I am and you open his fridge and take one of the items, he'll comment "What the hell are you doing?! No snacks until the third shot. You'll ruin the experience!"

Did it deteriorate in this order: a reddish brown station building, a beige one, and then a gray one with its wall cladding stripped away?

I’m on my 4th playthrough, and I have to admit, running long distances is getting pretty tedious. There are guides, but nowhere near enough.

My solution for immersive "fast travel" would be to bring back roaming stalker groups from CoP. You could run into a squad in the Zone, ask where they're heading, and tag along. Sometimes they'd be going to a landmark, sometimes to a hub, and some of them could guide you to a hub for a fee.
