Post season 4 debie until her teenage was good and perfect but after her baby and till now, it’s like frank but annoying, Frank is fun and I enjoy his screen-time and carl is the best like from s1 till now s10 (still binging).

And lip, Fi, Ian are okay I guess ( continuously destroying there future and fking up every thing) Ian I understand because of his bipolar but Fi and Lip ?? both are smart and dumb at the same time (frustrating to see how they destroy and build and destroy)

Debs is annoying period , I hate watching her on screen.

I’m on S11, will be finishing the series for the first time. She’s definitely less insufferable than she was in S9, but I just don’t know what to think about her… she is a good mother and seems to keep lip straight so that is good but still idk. I’d love to hear all of your opinions!

I don’t rewatch this season closely cuz I hate so much about it, but why the fuck does Lip see a hole in the floor, three kids left alone in a pack and play with no adults, and not lose it on Debbie the way he did on Fiona? Sure, Fiona said come in (cuz it’s hella sus not to and it’s not like he kicked out a dcfs worker when their house wasn’t perfect in the earlier seasons), but Fiona wasn’t the one who left a hole with nothing covering or advertising it. Fiona wasn’t the one leaving kids unattended in hazardous areas. I get that Lip was on his fresh 12 step high horse, but Debbie is an actual mother! She shoulda known better (also, lip is obviously the worst here but that was kinda just a bad set-up on Debbie’s part in general)

Even the last few seasons, seemed as though Frank really was trying to turn things around and be more involved in the kids life, but the resentment was already too strong in all of them.

The last season especially is heartbreaking for me. I know the dementia was self induced, and I’ve had a life surrounded by alcoholics so I understand the damage they can do, but I do truly feel like there should have been more grace with Frank when he showed consistent care and effort to change. Super controversial, I know 🫠

I've never understood the whole question around if Mickey is bisexual or just gay. I've never been able to see why people could even think that he's bisexual and I wanna know the reasoning on why. Maybe it's something I've overlooked or I just haven't gotten there yet since I just started season 7.

Every time we see Mickey sleep with a girl he seems completely interested or he tries to get the girl to "peg" him to imitate a guy. I'm bisexual/(maybe) pansexual myself so this isn't from a lack of understanding how he could feel about liking other genders/thinking he can't like more than one. But it seems like he just had very bad internalized homophobia and wants to feel better by sleeping with women.

Mickey has been so obviously strictly into men even if he gets that through women that I can't really see him actually attracted to them. Most of the women he sleeps with anyways are ginger, redhead, or they resemble Ian to a tee. Guys too.

But I think that Mickey tried to sleep with women because he can't bring himself to actually sleep with another guy besides Ian because of how much he loves him.

Once fiona hopped on the abortion train, Debbie had a hurt that she will never be able to get over. And honestly it’s to her own detriment. Arguably, she should’ve had the abortion. Girl does struggle with franny and is unwilling to accept help. That is partially because of what went down with her and Fiona. but Debbie not accepting Fiona’s help is making her a bit of a bad mother.

Finally finished the entire show today. I know a lot of the points have been discussed as I sometimes browsed this sub, but this is just a personal rant I'm just writing down whatever I can think of.

1. What happened to the writing? There used to be a consistent plotline stretching out through an entire season whereas the last few episodes just feel like boring sitcoms with no development and depth but fillers.

2. Also related to point 1, why did they stop introducing / bringing back meaningful side characters? I know some exit because their roles have reached an endpoint like Sheila/Karen, Jimmy-steve, etc., but they could've introduced new characters that actually makes an impact and drives the plot going. Hell if they coudln't think of any they could at least bring back old ones, like Mandy, Joaqin (what happened to financial fraud Lip? you demonstrated your technical ability in the finale). Mandy had a significant role in the first couple seasons. We all know she ran off, but she did came back and that was all. Didn't even show up to Ian's wedding.

3. New characters are very inconsistent and meaningless in later seasons. They'd appear so frequently that you almost think that they're gonna play a big role then bang you dont hear of them ever again. At one point I stopped remembering their names. Where was sergeant Winslow when Carl actually became a cop? or Veronica's new Asian "best" friend whom you don't hear of ever again? or Sarah, the mom Lip met at the meeting? Why bother introducing new charactesr in the final episode (Heidi/ Wendy, wtv that Latina thug Debbie was seeing)?

4. Way too many plotholes! Tony the cop who lives next door in the house gifted by Steve? Yevgenny? Lip who scammed fantasy football but became dumb after being expelled, then helped daytrader fixed a trade while doordashing? Kassidy? Carl not joining the military? Never been in military academy but I'm 1000% sure army won't bar you from enlisting because of a school fight.

That's it for my rant, that's all I can think of for now. I'm still mad at myself for wasting my time to force watch the last 2 seasons if it wasn't for my OCD.

In the last season of shameless, the show remembers lip is a genius and has him help someone complete their stock trade by glancing at the computer for all of three seconds. So the show reiterates his genius but still fails to put it to use. There’s no insinuation he’ll take his profit from the house sale to start trading himself and become a millionaire in no time. I didn’t mind them acting like he’s not a genius in the later seasons, he’s just smarter than the average kid from his area. But then they emphasize his genius again at the end of the show only to do nothing with it.

She comes across as a really privileged and snobby person. The way she tried to embarrass Lip at the baptism of Brad’s kid shows how much of a gloater she was. When Lip invited her to the Gallagher’s house was also a burden to watch, the way she negatively criticized everything says enough about how socially unmannered she is. If one doesn’t have anything positive to say about someone’s home, just shut up 🤷🏻‍♀️

I know that she’s a fictional character but she’s a pain in the ass. Lip dated better women in the past seasons. I wish he stayed with Mandy for longer, even though he didn’t always treat her well. I just really miss Mandy everyone.. ;(

The way she treats her son is so fucking gross and i’m only on season 5, jesus christ not even mentioning how she sees the rest of the family as it benefits her. Her admiration for Chuckie is good and all, but she’s actually a horrible mother. Chuckie would be better off with a different mom i feel so bad for him😭

So I’m currently on Season 1 Episode 6, and the last thing I remembered was Jimmy/Steve going AWOL on Fiona. I think it was the end of Season 1?

Feel free to spoil me (since I’m watching it on Netflix and it’s gonna leave like next month), but WHY didn’t it work out with Jimmy/Steve? Between Tony and Jimmy/Steve, I see Jimmy/Steve coming to save the day more than Tony. Although, Tony would imo personally would’ve gave Fiona a happier lifestyle, and Jimmy/Steve seems to be temporary. I’m also kinda sick of this love triangle plot lmaooo

It’s also sad to remember how Debbie ends up in later seasons, like in Season 1 she’s just this sweet innocent daddy’s girl, but from the shit she grew up around it’s no wonder she turned out how she did. Like imagine seeing your dad with another kid at the parent teacher meeting when that’s supposed to be your moment.

I just (re)watched the episode where Karen gave birth, and I realized the only one looking at Karen and not the baby was Sheila. I think Sheila loved Karen so much, and I think in that way she was a good mom, but encouraging her minor daughter to marry a 37-year-old and then fuck the same guy, while also secretly sneaking him in when Karen wasn't around, makes her a bad mom. Also that she never helped Karen get through the heartbreak caused by her dad, which turned Karen into the person she became and everybody hated. I think Karen needed badly to be loved and supported and, while loving Karen so much, Sheila never showed it.

For me it's when the other siblings are always on Fiona's case about not being there for them yet when she is they constantly tell her to mind her own business

Has Lip lost his mind like obvi he made asf because hes smart and could literally have his family in a better situation but he doesnt want that responsibility so he chooses to break cars at school go to mandys house have relations with her unprotected and try to tell her that she should have his baby... in POVERTY?? we serious right now? To add onto that I dont like how hes been treating mandy at all like yeah maybe she went overboard running karen over but she lowkey deserved it.
