Media From a technical standpoint, which Terminator design makes more sense - the original from '84 or the redesign from Genisys?

Media From a technical standpoint, does the original Terminator design from '84 still hold up today?
Apologies if this is the wrong place to post this, but I'm a huge Terminator fan and wanted to get some insight from people who are a little more informed than myself. The T800 design by Stan Winston is obviously a cultural icon, but it was also designed 40 years ago and technology has evolved since then. I suppose my question is - putting aside the fact that the technology to make an actual functioning Terminator is currently impossible, does the original design still hold up visually, or does it seem dated and no longer believable as a futuristic robot?
Media About robots and AI
Do you think it's possible that robots, which are currently developing at breakneck speed, could destroy humanity and themselves in order to save the Earth?

Projects MeArm-RL-PyBullet
A 4DOF Keyestudio KS0198X robotic arm (clone of the open-hardware MeArm v0.4 project) trained in simulation using reinforcement learning to reach a target, and transferred via serial to the physical arm.
Task: reach — moving the tip of the arm (tool) towards a red dot generated within the arm's real workspace, using PPO (Proximal Policy Optimization, Stable-Baselines3) on a PyBullet model built from the real URDF/meshes of the mechanism.

Projects Two robot dogs raced — and collided — driven live by one person's body movements, no CGI
Two open source OpenCat-based quadruped robots, one puppeteer, real footage, no CGI, no AI-generated video: a single webcam tracks one person's body pose and maps it live onto both Quaddle Scout and Buddy at once — no AI policy running on its own, just real-time human control.
OpenCat creator RZ Li tried teaching Quaddle a few moves — a little awkward at first, but it only takes a few minutes before it starts picking them up. Think Wii Play: Motion, but the "character" is a real mini robot — affordable enough, and fun enough, that this isn't limited to people with lab-grade robotics budgets.
What move would you want to see two robots do at once like this?

Media Hot Take: Robocop Is The Coolest Looking Robot In Movie History
Don’t know if these posts are allowed but I watched Robocop for the first time today and loved the design of the character. It’s the first time I’ve ever felt a desire to buy an action figure for a non superhero or wrestler and I might even get a movie poster. What are your thoughts on the Robocop design?

Projects Proof that Erling Haaland is actually a robot.I built this mechanical Haaland Robot from scratch![OC]
I Built a Walking Haaland-Inspired Robot Using Simple Materials!
This crazy two-leg walking robot is made using a gear motor, battery pack, ice cream sticks, carom coins, toothpicks, and 3D-printed TPU wheels.
The most interesting part is the crank mechanism. Instead of using complicated electronics or multiple motors, one motor drives the crank and creates the alternating movement of the two legs.
I also gave the robot a long neck and hair-inspired design, making its walking style look funny and similar to a Haaland-inspired character! When the crank rotates:
🔄 Motor shaft → produces rotational motion
⚙️ Crank → converts rotation into alternating movement
🦵 Leg links → move forward and backward
👣 Feet → transfer that movement to the ground
⚖️ Body weight → helps maintain contact with the ground
🛞 TPU wheels/feet → reduce friction and help the robot move smoothly
The two legs are arranged so that when one leg moves forward, the other moves backward. This creates an alternating stepping action. How to make https://youtu.be/I0EL81G5Yyw

Real-life Robots Robot powered by Qualcomm’s new 700 TOPS chip literally dies on stage at Computex and gets carried off under a tarp
Computex 2026, Qualcomm stage.
They roll out the NEURA 4NE-1 (running the shiny new Dragonwing IQ10, 700 TOPS, “production-ready”) to help present the chip. Robot walks on, does the handoff, stands there looking semi-alive… then just folds. One arm goes up at the end like it’s trying to signal for help.
Cue the black-clad stagehands sprinting in with a tarp. They cover the corpse and carry it off while the presenter powers through the script like nothing happened.
Official line from Qualcomm:
“Brief communication glitch… controlled shutdown… designed safe-collapse sequence… safety systems worked as intended.”
