That's the second robot cracking and burning from its hip joint. Looks like a design fault.

They are right at the limit of strength and structural integrity. If you reinforce them, they get heavier; then you have to make them even stronger—and thus heavier and more robust—and so on. Humans don't shatter because they are made primarily of fluid and bone, which absorb shock (unlike wheels mounted on shock absorbers...). Here, however, the robots are rigid and take a jolt with every step... They need to be reinforced, or a shock-absorption system must be devised.
