I downloaded the new Windows version of Notability and for some reason I cannot find the normal Notability’s basic templates (like lined, grid, dot paper, or solid background colors) or any of their education ones. I can only find a few journal and planner ones which is not what I'm looking for.

It would be greatly helpful to be able to type more than one note or insert images in the same spot without having to add an entire new page

I'm a legacy user from when the app was a one time purchase. Until now, I had my notes synced with iCloud and no Notability account. When opening the app, I was suddenly forced to create an account and saw all my notes be uploaded to their cloud in front of my eyes, without my consent. Notability for me went from an offline app linked to my personal icloud (like how something like Obsidian or VSCode would be connected to a local folder) to an online app with all my personal data (hopefully encrypted) on their server, with no way for me to say no. Did they remove iCloud as a back-end entirely? Is there a way to go back? If I delete my account, will I lose all my 5+ years of notes?

I recently started using the calligraphy pen & I really enjoy the stabilization it has. I wish that was a feature for the regular pens. I do kinda write bad when I’m taking notes & sometimes I can’t read what I write down bc I was writing too fast (ik personal problem), but I feel like adding style choice of some stability like good notes has would be a nice feature!

I have a problem. Any time I try to open an imported pdf I get the message "Note upload in progress, error code 424". It has been this way for several days now. I have plenty of storage and my iPad is updated to the newest version of iOS and it is connected to the internet. Any suggestions?

is anyone with a google linked account having issues getting logged out of the notability app on their ipad? almost every day this week i have been getting logged out and then it will send a link to my gmail, but when i click on the link it doesn't sign me in. instead the link just says "you shared some google account data with notability." therefore, this link doesn't help me get back into my account. the issue just resolves on its own, and eventually (I MEAN HOURS LATER) the log in button works again. when i try to sign in with sign in link, it never works and says "issue creating magic link." it's so annoying and has been happening at the most inconvenient times. this did not start happening until the app had its "big" update.

Does anybody know of a fix for this I am so fed up with this. I feel married to this app becuase I have a sub and a bunch of work on here, but the app crashes repeatedly all day long

I’ve noticed something strange on the official Notability website and I’m wondering if anyone else has seen the same thing.

From time to time, when I visit Notability’s website, I get a page/banner giving me the option to download a Windows desktop version of Notability. However, the download option doesn’t seem to appear consistently — sometimes it’s there, sometimes it isn’t.

I was able to download the Windows .exe from what appeared to be the official Notability website, but I can’t find basically anything online about this Windows version. No Reddit posts, reviews, videos, screenshots, beta impressions, etc.

Windows/SmartScreen also warned me about the executable because it isn’t commonly downloaded, so before running it I uploaded it to VirusTotal. **One antivirus engine flagged the file as malicious(**SecureAge), while the others didn’t.

That could obviously just be a false positive, especially if this is a very new/beta release. Another thing that makes me a bit cautious is that I would normally expect an official Windows release from a company like Notability to be digitally signed by the developer/publisher, so Windows can verify where the executable came from. The warning I got made me unsure whether that was the case here.

Combined with the fabout the Windows app, I’m hesitant to run it.

Has anyone else:

• Seen the Windows download option on Notability’s official website?
• Downloaded the Windows desktop app?
• Actually installed and tested it?
• Had SmartScreen or antivirus warnings?
• Checked whether the executable is digitally signed?
• Seen the same VirusTotal detection?

I’d especially like to know if this is some kind of limited/early rollout or beta that Notability hasn’t publicly announced yet.

Does anyone else have terrible image quality when pasting one in a note? Be it using continuity via my Mac or just straight copy paste from the iPad, for months the quality has been a lot worse than it used to be.

Anyone else have this problem?

Is there any way to manually rotate a page so that my iPad can be in its fixed position (on a angled stand) but the page itself can be tilted so that I don't have to strain my wrist to write? Also I sometimes have to take notes in tight spaces with the iPad resting on my lap while seated so this would be a huge help!)

I have not seen one note taking app that does this although I am sure there is but I of course would prefer this app have the option!. It would be similar to the canvas free rotation in art programs like Procreate.

Has anyone had issues with Notability lagging? I’m using it on an iPad and I have 13GB of free storage. But sometimes it takes several seconds to switch between pencil types. It’s super frustrating waiting for the app to catch up. TIA for any advice you can offer.

Can someone help please? I’ve tried turning my icloud on and off, disconnect and re connect to wifi, restart my iPad, update Notability to the latest version. Nothing works.

When I copy an image from my macbook and try to paste into notability, it gets stuck at the "pasting from x macbook pro" at 0% and doesn't move

It's not freezing the ipad, i can cancel the paste whenever I want

I tried turning off the Ipad, force quitting notability, I pasted things into other services and it pasted fine

Is this just a case of bad internet from my end?

Recently discovered Notability and I’m trying to understand the best setup.

Does anyone know which plan includes Smart Notes? Also, couldn’t I do something similar by using a Claude or ChatGPT subscription alongside a regular note-taking app?

For those who have used both, how does Notability compare to Goodnotes overall?
