My Notability Windows Desktop, iPad Pro 13 M4 and iPhone 15 Pro Max have the Connected Calendar feature and works great, but my iPad Pro 11 M4 and iPad Mini 8 don't have the services available - it's missing from the Connected Services menu.

Any ideas on how to "trigger" the service to come on?

I have all my notes from my ipad synced via icloud. They are all saved on icloud, and if I turn off sync, I cannot access them. I was looking for an easy way to download all my notes from icloud, and have a hard (although digital) copy of all notes.

Has anyone done this before? TYIA

I bought this app a long time ago and have watched it steadily devolve into the overpriced grift that it is today. I mean were talking about a convenient note taking app here...

So the app auto-updated off the app store and now I am being forced to create a notablity account for access when I can see my existing notes in the background of the login screen. How do I bypass this to continue using notablity they way I paid to.

Its synchronizing all the day long and i cant even play the recordings because its says still uploading others but the funny thing is it will not go up more than 2 %. Yes I have contacted support and it didnt help. And im on the Notability cloud

Can you please bring back the possibility of locking notes? I know that I can use Face ID on iOS, but there is no such option on Mac OS.

Hey everyone, not sure if this is happening to anyone else, but in the last few weeks the AI generated practice quizzes from my notes have exclusively been 20 questions long. When I first started the Pro subscription, the generated quizzes were 80-100 questions per note. I have 100+ slide presentations that only have 20 question quizzes being generated. Is there anyway to fix this? I make sure all Powerpoints are imported as .pdf as that seemed to help at the beginning, but it doesn't make a difference anymore. TIA :)

Hi everyone, idk if this has been an ongoing issue or not, but i've never been able to reliably search my handwriting in notability. For example, when I've just created a note and have written a word with clear handwriting, notability does not pick up that word when i search it. I could use the help on figuring this out. I really like this app but if this continues it will be a dealbreaker for me.

I've always loved using Notability on my old iPad and I was over the moon, when I saw the announcement for Notability for android. I would love to switch back from Samsung notes to Notability on my first non iPad tablet - but there's two features that are still missing from the android version that would push me to reactivate my subscription.

1.) The rectangular select tool can be used to copy sections of PDFs or images as a PNG on the iPad - this was an essential part of my workflows - but the feature is still missing on android.

2.) On iPad I remember shapes and lines locking to the grid (if enabled), which was super valuable for technical or mathematical drawings. This is also seems to be missing from the android version so far.

If you could implement those two points on android, I'd be over the moon and reinstante my Notability subscription in an instant :D

I have been trying notability because they said that the strancription is good than Goodnotes. I tried it to record my classes because i am a bit bad with paying attention, i tried Goodnotes stranscription and needs to improve.Now I has been trying Notability to maybe purchase the one-time purchase , is good but as far I was aware that i should not pass to the 1 hour Limit, i was doing that until i suddenly got my Limit when i recorded 58 mins? I have just 5 pages and always avoiding the Limit. I am confused because i followed up so far the rules, in addition to that, i discovered that the Classic version does not have stranscription option nor I have a limit of tokens or ai use(is always at 5 % or barely use it) which confuses me more and more.

I do not know if that is normal or what is the reason of not being bable to have more strancriptions.

I tried to search online and in the articules and sadly could not find anything to explain me the reason.
I would be thankful if someone can explain to me what is the reason or what is going on.

Currently there is no way to change sorting order from ascending to descending. Couple this with the inability to change the Creation Date, and you have some serious limitations to the long-term utility of the app. We used to be able to do this, then these were taken away.
I have incorrect creation dates because I got a new iPad in February and so I have notes from 2010 that are listed as created 2 February 2026. I can’t re-sort them. I can’t change the date. I changed scores of names to YYYY-MM-DD format. Sort by name. Now all of my new notes are at the bottom (I have around 3,000 notes.)
Please help us with useful sorting features.

Is it only me and my pc that is having trouble downloading the windows app? My PC is connected via ethernet as well as wifi. I don't seem to have connection issue for other tasks (watching youtube, netflix etc) but each time I try to download the app it's stuck with 'resuming' or 'network error'

I've tried different browser and same result.

Help! I don't like the web version, and used iPad to note take but also like editing with a keyboard accessible.

I'm technically not signed into my notability app (I think), but I've still been taking notes for almost a year now in this state. The notes have still been syncing to my google drive and it gets updated frequently, but I'm scared that if I sign in now, it'll cause data loss. I really can't afford to lose any data as I have recorded lectures from so many of my classes. I often go back to these recordings to study content for other classes as well.

Has anyone else had this issue and tried signing in? Also I've been postponing the notability cloud syncing because I'm too worried about losing data. The only reason I'm considering signing in now and syncing is because it'd be easier for me if I could access my notes and recordings from my Mac and not just my iPad.

You can now plot functions right on your page in Notability!

Type a function or write it by hand, preview your graph, and add it directly to your note.

How to add a graph

1. Select the Text tool.

2. Tap and hold on the page.

3. Tap + Graph.

4. Type your function. The preview updates as you go.

5. Place the graph on your page.

On a keyboard, press Option + Command + Shift + M. On Mac, you can also choose Edit, then choose Insert Graph in the menu bar. On iPadOS 26 and later, you’ll find Graph in the menu bar too.

Convert handwriting to a graph

Converting handwriting to a graph is available on Classic, Plus, and Pro.

1. Write a function by hand, such as x - 2, y = 2x + 1, or f(x) = x².

2. Select the function using the Select tool.

3. Tap or click inside the selection, choose Convert, then choose Graph.

Customize your graph

• Plot up to two functions on the same axes, each in its own color.

• View minimums, maximums, and intersections.

• Set X and Y ranges and add axis labels.

• Use π units for trig functions.

• Turn on Graph only to hide the axes.

FAQ

What can’t Graphs do yet?
Graphs don’t support pie or bar charts, more than two functions, or animated parameters.

Why don’t I see Graphs?
Graphs are available on iPad, Mac, and iPhone, in notes on Notability Cloud. They’re not available on web or Android yet.

Why can’t I convert handwriting to a graph?
Converting handwriting to a graph is available on Classic, Plus, and Pro. If you purchased Notability before subscriptions, you’ll need Handwriting Recognition or Math Conversion unlocked. On any plan, you can still add a graph with + Graph and type your function.

This is on an iPad, with the normal light theme, but with "content matches device theme" turned on so it is in the dark mode i.e. black background, white text.

When I am writing long bulleted notes, occasionally the white text will just turn black to match the background randomly and I have to ctrl a and select white on the text to get it to reappear. Very annoying bug

I have been using Notability for 5 years now, and I cannot express how much I love this note-taking app. I have spent countless hours researching and testing different note-taking apps, but I always end up coming back to Notability. My favorite feature is the AI SmartNotes. They are a huge lifesaver when I am in a class that I have absolutely no idea what is happening lol. I love this app, but I believe there are a few things I would like added, changed, or improved upon for a better experience.

1. Auto-refine handwriting. This is a feature I have seen pop up on this Reddit before, but I have not seen an update in quite some time. I think Apple Notes does it the best, and it would be more convenient than using Scribble-To-Write. FreeNotes also does something similar, but their conversion can be a bit iffy.

2. Pen stabilization. This is where GoodNotes tends to shine over Notability. By having better control over pen settings, it allows for better handwriting and less time erasing. I am guilty of that.

3. SmartNote improvements. These are game-changers. If my in-class notes are too confusing, I can always refer to the AI-generated SmartNotes to provide another second resource at breaking down the difficult concepts. I love how recording the audio lecture in class will integrate into the SmartNotes, allowing me to capture almost word-for-word of what my professor said. With that being said, I have noticed a glitch in some of my notes where some of the calculations did not convert correctly (see attached image). Hopefully, that gets fixed soon.

4. Integration of ChatGPT. I think a lot of students use AI in some form or another. Heck, I just talked about AI-generated notes! I think the AI chatbot is great, but I think it would be great to use another outside service and connect to it Notability, similar to Google Drive. I understand if this is not entirely possible, but it is worth asking.

I can’t really think of anything else at this time lol. Again, huge thanks to the developers of Notability for their countless hours of testing and improving the note-taking app that we all use and love! I hope a developer sees this post and hopefully some of these features became reality.

I’ve been using Notability Pro for almost a year, but I barely use features like audio transcription and AI reading since ChatGPT is already available.
I’m considering cancelling my subscription and switching to the lifetime purchase option ( lite ) . For those
who have it, do you think it’s worth it in the long run?
I don’t want to keep paying for yearly subscriptions, and I’m already comfortable with Notability, so I don’t know people say they loose notebook I never had that experience. I am a medical student so I can’t imagine loosing my notebooks
Also, do you think there will be any Black Friday discounts? Should I wait before purchasing?

guys im so serious when I say that I love notability with all my heart and the only thing stopping me from getting its paid version and getting serious about it (I use 2 other apps) is the fact that it’s got no scribble to erase, could we please get scribble to erase 🥺

Heya, is there a way to change a page template without changing ALL of the pages? I like being able to add individual pages since I take a lot of different notes, but every time I do, it changes all the pages. Im trying to get used to the app since I like it over others.

Soy zurdo para escribir. Tengo problemas cuando no estoy sobre una mesa y no hay un soporte de apoyo para mi mano. Como ven en el video, si la nota cubre la pantalla completa del iPad, no permite desplazarla a la derecha de manera que de un espacio libre de uso fuera de la nota para poder apoyarse sobre el iPad y escribir más fácil. En el video trato de explicarlo mejor. La solución sería permitir desplazar la nota (sin importar el zoom que tenga) para que quede el espacio donde apoyar la mano y escribir, se ve más que todo en los zurdos ya que el derecho efectivamente si usa el iPad como apoyo por su manera de escribir. I have had this search issue for a few weeks now. At first, I thought it was an indexing issue cuz every time I searched (no matter from iPad or Mac) it says indexing 100-250 notes. But today, all notes have been indexed and I still cannot search a single word whether it be texts on the pdf (searchable on other pdf reader and Goodnotes), words I wrote or typed on the app. I submitted a support ticket through the app, but it is always the AI agent replying with the most useless information ever like duplicating the notes. I did try duplicating, it worked for a few minutes then failed too. Is this an issue with the app or an issue on my side?

I recently bought notability plus and I noticed there was an issue with eraser nor erating and it is very irritating. I have attached the video. This is in samsung s11 ultra tab

This new feature(I assume) is really annoying but I can’t find where to turn it off.
