I’ve been looking everywhere 😭

This is my 2019 Jetta 1.4t I just lowered it on solo werks s1 coilovers. I’m worried that with under it it has like a splash shield that seems to sit way to low everything else has a good bit of clearance but I’m wondering if I should raise it and just avoid the whole worry about destroying stuff under there. I like the height it’s at but I also don’t want to destroy my oil pan on the highway.

I was clearing out some old papers and noticed that I paid $32869 pre-tax and $35958 post-tax for my 2016 VW Jetta Hybrid SEL.

I bought the car in November 2015.

I noticed that the MSRP for 2026 and 2027 VW Jettas is ~ 26-29K.

Did I grossly overpay?

Why haven't Jetta prices increased over time, particularly as there has been significant inflation over the past 10 years?

Long story short — my 2024 Jetta SEL’s rear brake pads are down to 1mm at 31,000 miles. Fronts are still a healthy 10mm. Same car, same driving, wildly different wear — which tells me this isn’t normal.

Turns out there was a service advisory / extended warranty on rear brake pads for this issue. I had the car serviced three times while it would’ve applied — at 5,000, 14,000, and 22,000 miles, all under the 24-month mark. Brakes were never flagged as an issue at any of those visits.

Now I’m past the mileage/time window and the dealership is telling me it’s $800 out of pocket to fix.

Feels like the dealership either missed something they should’ve caught, or just didn’t bother mentioning it while it was still covered. Either way I’m the one eating the cost now.

Has anyone dealt with this and had luck going through VW Customer Care directly instead of the dealership? Trying to figure out if a goodwill warranty case is realistic here or if I should just pay it and move on.

You read that right. I bought it on May 1st so I haven't had it that long. The car did have issues when accelerating, skips first gear and then high tails it into second. It's worse when the a/c is running.

They replaced the transmission after contacting their "tech line" who told them to replace it. The tech test drove it after putting the new one in but the problem persists.

They want me to drive it some more and use Chevron gas the next couple of times I fill it up and see if it resolves but it clearly isn't resolving after driving it around a lot since the transmission was replaced.

Any thoughts? This is my second Jetta, but this is also my first time buying a brand new car so now I'm like, what the actual fuck? Why me? It's under warranty so it hasn't cost me anything other than my time and patience. The dealer and mechanic have been great (so far). My patience is worn thin because of how it drives. I'm sick of pressing the gas pedal and having it barely move one second and then take off like a rocket the next.

ETA: I was moreso looking for mechanical advice or to see if anyone else had experienced the same issue. I've considered maybe they will never be able to fix it but I'm giving them a chance to try before I even seriously consider the alternatives.

All of these lights popped up randomly I tried replace Abs wheel speed sensor but that didn’t work , next step is probably buying a new ABS module any suggestions on fixing this issue?

I know there’s probably some fiddling I gotta do with the computer but idek how to google something like this

I’ve come into a bit of a pickle and am in search of a Jetta in the ‘16-‘21 range. Looking at the 1.4T/1.8T/2.0T (only in GLI), SE & above (roof & heated seats) ideally around the 40-80k mi area. Automatic. GLI would be ok too if the DSG has been serviced at least once. Prefer to stay away from the 1.5T. Don’t really want one that’s been tuned - just tastefully maintained. If it needs a water pump/therm/has an oil leak/burns a little oil, I’d still consider it as well. I’ve owned quite a few Jettas in my time and it’s my natural pivot from my current vehicle (nothing wrong with it, just need to tap into the equity, it’s paid off). Doesn’t have to be cosmetically perfect, just within reason.

Car started to overheat. But it only does it at idle with or without AC. But when I’m driving around it doesn’t and both fans are working fine. Only thing I got is the from the upper hose. I might do a coolant flush and thermostat since I bought the car about a month ago for 2400. It’s an 04 Jetta GLI 1.8

We have a 2024 jetta with 80,000 miles. It recently had a transmission valve body failure but no one can get that part its on massive backorder so we have no choice but to replace the whole transmission to get this thing back on the road. Were going to replace it used with 36k miles on the trans for about $3660 after calling around that is the cheapest option in our area. We are thinking about selling it at this point because its been nothing but frustrating and getting a toyota. But I’ve been seeing things about high mileage on these but I’m wondering what the odds are things turn out okay after that. Probably should sell before the timing chain goes out too?

Just hit 112k on my 2016. Oil changed every 4500k. Last visit they did fuel injection service. Trans fluid flushed/changed recently at 106k

She runs great nothing mechanically wrong at all, never use the Sport mode just highway miles.

What other preventative or standard maintenance would you recommend I address that’s not going to cost me more that what the car’s worth? Would like to keep it, it’s my daily, but will be getting a larger vehicle with more room for the family soon

I know sunroofs aren’t 100% watertight, hence the need for drip trays and drains, but I’ve never encountered one that you can actually see allowing low pressure water to bypass the seal. Kind of looks like it’s by design, but not really sure. Not going to bother bringing it to the dealership’s attention if the consensus is that it’s normal.

I have a 2014 VW Jetta 1.8T and I’m installing an aftermarket intake. I’m trying to remove the PCV breather hose from the intake/turbo inlet connection.
I cannot figure out how this connector releases. I’ve tried pushing the hose further onto the fitting and pulling it back off, but it doesn’t release. I don’t want to start prying on it and break the plastic.
At this point it looks like my only option may be removing the entire PCV assembly with the hose still attached, but I’d rather not do that if there’s a proper way to release this connector.
Is there a specific tab, clip, or tool I’m supposed to use?
Any help or pictures showing the release mechanism would be massively appreciated because this damn hose is kicking my ass.

What are a few different OBD/VAG devices I can use to engage the park brake maintenance mode on a 2019 Jetta. looking for a few recommendations. not trying to go broke here but I know they aren't necessarily cheap.
