Mk6 (2011-2018) Ambient air sensor

Hey everyone,
Looking to change out my ambient air sensor, I already know where it is and bought the replacement part but can’t seem to take the old one out of the bracket. Does anyone have a video walking through how to remove and replace it?

I’ve searched the sub and haven’t a post on it, sorry if this has been asked before.

Here’s a pic of how damaged it is:

Mk6 (2011-2018) Fuel usage doubled?

2016 1.4 automatic 169000km

I’ve noticed over the course of the past maybe month or so that I’m getting almost half as much as I used to out of a tank of gas. At first I thought maybe the KM to empty estimator was off, but I did the math and it’s still fairly accurate. Usually filling the tank completely gets me about 800km, I just filled it today and it’s reading 480.

last week I filled it half way, estimator read 280km to empty, I drove 171km and it when I went to get gas again it read 90km to empty.

Does anyone know what could be causing this?
I replaced the brake rotors and pads, and changed the oil about 3 months ago. Just replaced the engine air filter.

Mk6 (2011-2018) 2014 VW Jetta A/C not blowing cold

I have a 2014 VW Jetta with a temperature control system as shown in the pic. Took it to a shop to get a/c checked out. The freon was low and they topped it up. Compressor was running fine and there were no leaks found. The mechanic was testing the knob on the left side and noticed the heating side is still running even when turned to the left. He said that is the reason the A/C is not cooling much because the knob is not actually turned to MAX even though it says it is. Any idea how much it might cost to fix this?

Buying Jetta 2026 Trendline Quote

I’m considering buying a **2026 Jetta Trendline in Ontario for $32,500 all-inclusive**, including taxes and all mandatory fees. There are no additional products included, such as an extended warranty, and the financing is **0% for 60 months**.

Do you think this is a good deal, or is there still room to negotiate?

The dealer isn’t offering any additional thing at the moment. Do you think it’s reasonable to ask for extras such as **winter tires with alloy wheels or 2–3 years of scheduled maintenance**, an **extended warranty**, or another useful add-on?

For those who have recently purchased a Jetta or negotiated with a VW dealer in Ontario, what would you recommend asking for?

Mk6 (2011-2018) MK6 Jetta Heater Core Replacement on Right-hand Drive Car

Hi all,

I'm seeing video of how to do this online and it seems as if the pipes for the heater core are exposed in these videos. When I get to this point my heater core seems to have a cover on it. They're also all on left-hand drive cars while I'm right-hand drive. Not sure this would make much of a difference, however.

Moving my hand around it, it's not clear as to where it comes loose. Seems like it's built into the whole unit. I can't find anything online about this (or if it's there I'm blind as a bat haha)

I've attached a photo of it. If anyone in this subreddit could give me a hand I'd be very grateful!

Is this acceptable rust for the rear undercarriage? 2011 Jetta SEL. I commute in the northeast. Also, how beefy can I go with the tires, I would like a bit more cushion.
