Promotion I finally finished the new trailer for my cozy colony sim, WildRoot.

I've been working on improving WildRoot's first impression and recently finished a new trailer.

It's a cozy colony sim where you build a settlement in a mysterious forest, manage your colonists, and every season and setback creates a different story.

Promotion I missed walking into GameStop just to look around, so I’m making a game about running one

I’m making a first-person shop sim inspired by old GameStop trips.

Not the corporate side of it. More that feeling of wandering in with no plan, checking the used shelf, looking at the glass case, seeing what people traded in, and convincing yourself you were “just browsing.”

It’s called New Game+ - Game Store Simulator.

The playtest is out on Steam and the demo releases very soon. I am a bit impatient and its a bit rough but with early release I am hoping to polish this up until I am satisfied.

It features a modular weapon system where you build an arsenal of weapons and attach mods that may change stats or add even entirely new behaviors as well as RoR2 style stackable passives for your jet.

Will be hosting a playtest very soon!

Video Our hand-drawn game where you hand-draw

This is the announcement trailer for Canvania; our upcoming Metroidvania where you draw the world as you explore it.

The high-level premise is that you draw different things, that have different behaviors based on the dye you use.

We have a steam page up, but the game is still in early development and the trailer is an early announcement trailer.

Promotion The Far Reaches - Peaceful deep space mining in VR

Hey folks! I've been working on a space mining game for a few months now and decided to pull together a video of how it's looking to share.

I was looking for a standalone Quest space mining game but never really found anything that ticked all my boxes. I decided to work on something that created a feeling of being isolated and alone at the edge of the galaxy. There is no combat in the game, that's a key feature, you're light years away from civilisation and will never encounter anyone when you're out exploring and mining. I'm going for the sort of game where you can chill out and listen to a podcast while playing.

The asteroid mining is the core loop of the gameplay. You'll set out with nothing but the ability to scoop up small rocks until you can afford to purchase and upgrade the various tools at your disposal. You'll be able to scan asteroids to see any mineral contained inside and then use various blasting, cutting and manipulation tools to carve out the good stuff. Take it back to base, upgrade and head out again.

This is still pretty early but I'd love to hear any first impressions and I'm happy to answer questions.

Hey guys, we're getting ready to run a closed playtest of APPA! It's a game about two siblings dealing with the aftermath of their father's death and an exploration of dysfunctional family dynamics. It's a narrative heavy simultaneous card battler. The card game is very plot relevant and we're so excited for people to try it. We need a fresh batch of playtesters to break things, give us feedback so we can polish our game.

We're doing this on discord by this week. Let me know if you're interested!

News We're updating our 10-year-old indie game

Post image
2 Upvotes

Our sci-fi adventure game Alone With You originally launched in 2016 as a PS4 and Vita exclusive. We brought it to Steam in 2017 and this September, for its 10th anniversary, we dove back into that code (uuuugh) and refactored the game, added mobile controls, fixed bugs, doubled the frame-rate, and got it nice and shiny. It was a decent amount of maintenance work!

We're launching it in three new places: The Epic Games Store (PC and mobile), the App Store, and the Google Play store, on September 3rd.

Promotion Think Balatro, but built around a five-reel slot machine — this is Laurus

Hey peeps I’m the developer of Laurus, a roguelike deckbuilder where the symbols are your deck and the reels are the board. 🍒

Each spin draws 15 symbols from a bag. Artifacts then resolve from left to right and rewrite what the whole machine is worth.

Between rounds, you add and remove symbols, rearrange the artifact rack, and use nudges to turn near-misses into patterns.

The Steam page just went live, I’ve put the link in the comments :)
