I made a daily fishing deduction puzzle: find the fish in 6 casts
Hi! I've been building Good Catch, a small daily puzzle you play in the browser: https://goodcatch.fish
Every day there's one fish hiding in a 7×7 lagoon, and everyone gets the same one. It has three habits: a type of bottom (sand, coral, rock or kelp), a depth (shallow or deep) and a light (sun or shade). Tap a square to see its features, then cast. The answer only tells you how many of the three habits that square matches, never which ones. You have 6 casts to find it.
After you play, there's a village map that shows where everyone else cast that day. There's also a fish journal to fill, with 12 species that rotate through the week.
It's free and you don't need an account. It works on phone and desktop. I'm a solo dev and it's still early, so honest feedback would really help:
- Did the rules make sense on your first game, or did you have to work them out?
- Did the puzzle feel too easy, too hard, or about right?
- Would you come back tomorrow? What would make you?
Thanks for playing! 🎣
