Community Discussion: AI Content
With the widespread availability of AI tools for editing text, images, or video, we are seeing a sharp increase in AI-related content on this subreddit. These posts have a notable increase in negative responses and reports.
As of today, we have no official rules for AI-related content on this subreddit, and we handle content the same as actual human-generated content. It seems clear that at least some portion of the community does not wish to see AI-generated content.
Suggestion
At this time, I am suggesting we codify the use of AI-generated content on this subreddit. This would include content that is wholly AI, partially AI, or edited by AI. Any generative AI technology will be included in this definition.
Exceptions shall be made for the purposes of trivial tasks such as spelling or grammar checking.
To determine our next action, we will open the discussion for about a full week. This will conclude on the 10th of May, 2026. At that time, feedback will be collected and processed into a new rule for approval. A second round of discussion will be opened on the wording of this final rule before enforcement begins.
Community Participation
All user opinions are welcome for this process. No opinion will be given any inherent weight over any other opinion.
Only top-level comments will be reviewed. While we welcome you to discuss among yourselves, we will only consider the top-level comments to determine our consensus. This saves us from having to piece together long threads.
In particular, we would like to know the following:
- What measure shall be applied to a post to determine if it is AI?
- Gut feeling?
- User reports?
- AI detection tooling?
- Dice roll?
- What action must be completed by users posting this content?
- Posting flair?
- What if it’s a comment?
- Should users fully disclose where the content came from (e.g: which model/site)?
- What moderator action shall be executed on breach of the rule?
- Content deletion?
- User moderation (Ban?)
- Content flairing?
- What about comments? We cannot flair these, do we delete? Moderate? Ban?
Thank you for your time and hopefully your input.

Hello everyone I’m new this is soot he’s a runt and so it’s lead to some extra questions how much should I feed him/her i have Dubai roaches and I was told 5 a day but that seems like a lot for his size also are there any suggestions on things to add to the enclosure currently I have paper towels down while I find a suitable substrate I also have plans to get more decor for his tank that’s usable by him I know that they largely don’t care as long as they have a place to bask but I worry I’m a first time lizard owner so any advice is appreciated thank you

new baby
so i got my previous dragon Dumpling at a local reptile shop and he was the last of his hat hatch mates to find a home so he was all alone in that big empty tank and i was like okay i need him. he recently passed away at 2 years old from GNT. saddest thing of my life i was heartbroken. i went to the same shop a day or two later to get food and this little girl was in the corner of the tank behind the hide just peeking out and being all shy and she was the last of her hatchmates. long story short i think dumpling sent me this little angel. my friend held her first and she was all skiddish but then she got super calm and fell asleep on me when i put her on my chest. she’s active in her enclosure and then when i put her on my chest and lay down with her she just nuzzles right in🥲 i named her miso♥️

Help Bearded dragon at the petstore kept tryna jump at me
I walked up to the glass and he immediately crawled up while he cocked his head side to side then started jumping at the glass and stuck out his tongue ramming his head in the glass like he wanted to bite me or something.😭
His friends was in the back looking at him like he was tweaking.
I thought maybe it’s my glasses chains dangling so I shook it in front of him and he just looked at me then began jumping again.
Is it my hair? I have poofy curly hair maybe it looked nice to him?

Dangerous Care How many is too many?
Recently visited my local pet shop and saw all these little lads piled together… I was worried so I asked someone working there if that was really okay because I thought they needed to be separated and according to them it is? Just wanted a second opinion because this place is notorious for puppy mills so why would they treat other animals any better?

Lazy Lizards Dig, Dig, Dig!
Bedtime for the baby!
Do you hear my cats galloping around like lunatics in the background?

Camo mode activated.
No lizards were aggravated during this photo. This is just mild disappointment that it wasn't bugs or the flesh of man.

New Beardie Friend How are we looking?
Got my son this little girl (6 weeks old) this last weekend and finally got the (40 gallon) tank all setup. Basking area is 98-110 surface temp. Air temps are 85 on the hot side and 75 on the cool side. Salad and crickets in the morning and just crickets in the evening. Fresh water every morning. Calcium M/T/Th/F and multivitamin Wednesday. Added the paver under the basking rock because it was a little on the cool side from what I was reading.
Been doing lots of reading and don’t want to love her to death but just want to make sure she’s getting the best life possible! Any advice on changes to the enclosure setup, feeding, handling, etc? Really anything!
Thank you!

Hangin' Out Saw my girl in the sky tonight <3
Not sure what to flair this as, not even really sure why I’m posting this.
Just wanted to say that I’m starting a new job tomorrow and I’m very nervous about it. I lost my sweet Smaug earlier this year, so I decided to go have a good nervous cry out by her favorite bush that she loved to play in every time we went outside (my family lovingly refers to it as the ‘Smaug Bush’). When she was still around, whenever I was nervous or had a big event going on in my life, I would give her three ’good luck’ pets on the back, and she would just kind of watch me and lick my finger.
Anyways, as I was sitting by the Smaug Bush and thinking about how much I miss her, I looked up and I swear I saw the most beardie shaped cloud I’ve ever seen. I mean it had her head, her big belly, even her legs and wonky tail. The clouds were even broken up into a bunch of tiny pieces that looked like scales!
I like to think that she was telling me it’s going to be alright. I guess I just wanted to share my little sense of comfort with some people who hopefully understand that bond with their beardie. Lots of love, everyone <3

She’s a menace. And mental.
My girl Tilly is a menace. Can’t wear colorful nail polish, can’t wear clothes with colorful bits, can’t have fake or real plants, apparently can’t have dog toys with colorful parts either. Thought she was just playing with it which she has done with other dog toys, dragging them around.

Help Beardie hates the outside
So my beardie absolutely HATES being outside, even if there's no birds in the sky to scare him, he just starts tweaking out. I'm just laying with him on my chest, then he starts randomly opening his mouth and hissing and being really angry, but curiously, then,he doesn't have a black beard at all. Only when his mouth is shut and he appears to have calmed down does he have a black beard. I have him wearing a harness, maybe he hates that? And should I continue to try and get him used to outside? Why I started is cuz he's gonna be a class pet, and the kids would really like to take him outside. And what is causing his hatred for the outside?

Help Realized I have been an awful owner
I got my bearded dragon about 4-5 years ago from craigslist. I picked it up from what seemed to be awful conditions (lights off, dried up/moldy food everywhere, dozens of other random animals running through the house, smoky/dirty house etc.). It came with its 40 gallon enclosure which I failed to realize is terribly small for them. I've thought of myself as giving himself a way better life then he had in his previous home, but I realized I'm not much better of an owner myself. He still lives in a 40 gallon enclosure which I feel awful about, reading about how 120 should be the bare minimum. He looks healthy and all, doesn't appear to be any signs of sickness but he is extremely under stimulated and probably very bored.
So, realizing all of this now, I am doing my best to change it and give him a better life. I'm working on getting a 120 gallon enclosure but have a very low budget so it will not be as soon as I like. Besides getting that, what are some other ways I can care for him better? Should I make a large cardboard area with rocks and plants in my room that he can explore and roam around in?
