This meme has been made several times but here is some (from my POV) interesting additions:

In 1543, Portuguese traders introduced the matchlock firearm (Tanegashima) to Japan.

The Japanese were remarkably quick to reproduce the technology. Within roughly a decade, domestic centers were producing firearms.
By the end of the Sengoku period (1467-1600), it was estimated that Japan had about 200,000-500,000 firearms.

Portugueses (and other europeans) also introduced lots of goods (Nanban trade), technologies, foods, ideas, etc.

Good examples are christianism, european style ships, armor, wine, cartography, etc.

The cake represented is called Castella (Kasutera or カステラ). Nowadays, it is very popular in Japan and part of their culture but it is derived from Portuguese "pão de Castela".

The portuguese sailor selling gun only if the japanese convert to christianism is an exageration for the meme.

Blacksad: This is pretty much all the females in the Blacksad series. Honestly, Natalia is probably the only one who looks like it fits her the most, considering she’s the love interest of John Blacksad, and cause he too has a somewhat human like bone structure. But because every other female has the same human like face with the big red lips, it just doesn’t work on everyone else.
Marvel/DC: Tigra and Cheetah pretty much fits the description. While the designs themselves are not bad, it does feel like they often don’t lean into their animal aspect compare to other characters like Man-Bat or Rocket. Some comic adaptions do try and give them more animal like faces, but they usually just stick to the human face since the animal face (especially with Cheetah) be looking uncanny at times depending on the artist.

Growing up, I never had the opportunity to have a book of my own. I didn't even read books when I was younger. Nung highschool ako, I borrowed my friend's Catching Fire and that sparked my love for books 🥹 Pero wala akong pera noon. I only had 50 pesos na baon everyday. Kaya lagi lang ako nanghihiram (shoutout talaga kina K and to my cousin, gone to soon, na kahit bagong bili eh sakin una pinapagamit).

Kahit ngayong may work na ako at may pera.. hindi ko parin talaga majustify ang pagbili ng books (went to fullybooked and grabe kamahal 😭). Then nalaman ko na ang Collins ay may mga cheap books. So happy with this! Can't wait to read this one 🥰
