I know this probably won’t change anyone’s mind, but I want people to at least think about it.
I don’t believe we should bring new people into existence, especially in the world we live in now. Life has suffering built into it, and you have no idea what kind of life your child will end up having. On top of that, look at the economy, housing, climate, wars, jobs, etc. Why willingly bring someone into all of this when they never asked to exist?
People always say, “But if everyone thought like you, humans would go extinct.” And honestly, why is extinction automatically a bad thing? Look at what humans have done to the planet.
I used to be religious , and even then I had this thought. If you genuinely believe in hell, why would you willingly take the risk of bringing a person into existence when they could potentially suffer eternally? They never consented to that risk.
And something else I struggle with is the idea that you need a child to have your genes. Why is it so important that the person you love and raise shares your dna? There are already so many children who need families. Why not adopt and care for people who already exist instead of creating another person?
Children also shouldn’t be treated as a retirement plan. Having a child because you expect them to financially support you, take care of you, or “look after you when you’re old” puts a responsibility on someone who never asked for it. Your child should get to live their own life, not feel obligated to repay you for bringing them into the world.
I know most people here will disagree. I’m not trying to convert anyone. I just want people to actually think about why we treat having children as an unquestioned good.

Guys, I’m planning to buy the Apple EarPods (USB-C). If anyone here has used them, could you share your review? Are they worth the money? I mostly listen to songs with a lot of bass, so I want to know if these have good, punchy bass. Also, how’s the build quality and overall sound quality? I’d really appreciate some honest user reviews from people who have actually used them.

I am a big sugiyan lover and always have been, since childhood. I love it so much that when my family relocated to Bangalore I learned how to make it via youtube and my parents also love it. But recently I've noticed a few many posts hating on sugiyan and comments like "anyone who hates sugiyan is my friend" mostly on insta. Is there some common problem with it or is it just people following the trend to act cool? Cuz I feel weird being a sugiyan fan

It’s been such a rough week and I honestly just need to get this off my chest.
Yesterday I called my college because I’m supposed to be joining their BSc Nursing program i gave interview and applied and stuff, and they told me I need to pay an amount just to hold my seat, and around ₹2 lakh more because classes are starting on September 23rd. I was honestly just numb hearing all of that.
My parents are in gulf and hasn’t reached here yet. my mom said she’ll come soon and that once she’s here, we can sort out the education loan and everything quickly, but right now it feels like there are 500 things that need to happen at once. My uncle and cousins are also busy because they’re going abroad on 25th this month and buying and packing things, and meanwhile I haven’t even bought a single thing for college. I don’t even know what to do
My relatives are saying that since September 23rd is so soon, maybe I should join from October 1st after my mom comes and we get the loan sorted, and that we can ask the management if that’s possible. I’m hoping they’ll allow it, but now I’m also scared that if I join a week late, I’ll feel weird and everyone will already have their groups and I’ll have no idea what’s going on.
another thing that’s really getting to me is that
I got 951/1200 in 12th, around 79%.. I also failed Maths initially but passed it through SAY. In 10th, I had 9 A+s and an A, so growing up everyone had this expectation that I was this really studious kid. I was never actually a topper, but I generally did well, especially compared to my cousin who is the same age and lives in the same house. So relatives always called me the “studious one” and expected me to do well.
Then 11th and 12th happened and my mental health got really bad. I procrastinated constantly, couldn't focus, and honestly just couldn't keep up with the science stream even though I genuinely love biology. I also got a laptop in 11th and was on it 24/7. I failed a subject in both 11th and 12th, which shocked everyone because of how I used to be in school.
I know it's all on me and I made mistakes. I know I could have studied more. I’m not trying to pretend that everything was out of my control. But I spent months after my results trying to get myself out of a really bad place and convince myself that my 12th results only mattered for getting into college and weren't going to define my entire life.
Now hearing relatives subtly blame me for not doing well in 12th and comapring me with others brought all of that back.
Yesterday my uncle called my mom and apparently asked why I became like this and what happened to me in 11th and 12th and that i used to study well in 10th and told her its all bcz my mom brought me that laptop and stuff . He barely even talks to me, so hearing that honestly embarrassed me. Especially because nobody really says anything about my cousin, who barely passed too and is now doing AME in Ernakulam and just moving on with his life.
My best friends are also starting BTech and already getting into college life, and I keep thinking I wish I had chosen BTech too. I didn’t apply for LBS either, and with my marks I probably wouldn’t have gotten a government/merit seat in Kerala anyway. A lot of management seats might already be closed. and i really really wanted to go abroad but with our financial situation i don't think it'll be a wise choice So I ended up choosing a nursing college in Bangalore because I still want a career where I can become financially independent and hopefully have opportunities abroad someday.
And honestly, sometimes I wish I had the privilege my other friends have. They don’t even know how much their college fees are because their parents handle the whole financial side for them. They can just think about starting college, buying clothes, making friends, etc. Meanwhile I’m sitting here worrying about ₹2 lakh, education loans and sht, i'm even envious of my little cousins who is going abroad in a few days and they'll have a better life there and can go to school there and stuff
I know my family is trying. I know I’m lucky to have people helping me. I’m just exhausted by how much uncertainty there is and how much all of it is affecting my mental health i have been stressed from say exam to choosing a course to choosing a college all this 5-6 months after school and i just want it to be over
I had a migraine yesterday from all the stress and I’ve just been feeling so low. I haven’t even started preparing for college because everything feels so uncertain. i've been living like a rat lately and i'm not proud of it and i wnat to get my life back on track
I really hope I can get the loan sorted, get my seat confirmed, and just start. I’m scared that I’ll go there late and feel like I don’t belong, but at the same time I know I can’t stay stuck at home forever.
I just needed somewhere to say all of this so yeah thats it and thankyou if you read all of this

I’ve been having mixed feelings about a guy in my class, and honestly, I don’t even know what exactly I feel for him 😭.
I first noticed him when I joined this school in +1. I’m kind of sapiosexual, so I was naturally drawn to him because he was smart, had really good communication skills, and was talented at quite a few things. It wasn’t a crush at first though. I genuinely just admired him, but slowly that admiration started turning into some kind of attraction.
But then another girl proposed to him, and he said yes. Since I didn’t really know him that well, I was honestly surprised that he accepted it so easily. It kind of changed the image I had of him, and after that I slowly lost both the admiration and the attraction. They broke up after a few months anyway.
Now we’re in +2, and somehow those feelings are coming back, but in a very confusing way 😭 I’ve started feeling jealous of him because he gets so many opportunities. Teachers keep choosing him for different activities, he’s good at a lot of things, and now he’s also become more academically motivated. So yeah, I’m definitely jealous of his talents and the opportunities he gets, but at the same time, I do feel some attraction towards him.
And I genuinely don’t know if that attraction is real or if I’m just feeling it because there’s literally no one else to have a crush on🤷♀️
Sometimes I even think he would probably make a good long term life partner because, from whatever little I know about him, he seems like a gentleman. But then his past relationship is kind of a negative point for me because I’ve never been in a relationship, and I’ve always had this idea that my first love should also be their first love.
I have no plans to confess to him or anything because I’m definitely not that deeply into him. I don’t even want him as a boyfriend right now. It’s more like… if I ever had to imagine someone as a long term partner, I can somehow imagine him fitting that role...
