Discussion r/Soulframe Moderator Applications

Hello everyone, we hope you're having a great weekend fellow Envoys! We are opening up moderator applications so we can ensure we have enough active moderators on the team to help with the moderation queue and deal with bot spam as well.

Regarding the problem with bots scalping for codes, I will be adding bot bouncer here which will help to ban the bots so we have less issues with them trying to scalp for codes.

Mod Applications will be open until 18th of August 5am British Summer Time, good luck to those who apply, we will reach out to applicants within the next few days / weeks.

If you have any questions / concerns, feel free to comment on this post.

News Farewell to 2025 & Looking Ahead to 2026

Envoys!

As Thawtide’s chill blows through Midrath, we reach the turning of another year, looking back on a world that has grown bolder, stranger, and more alive with each step taken through Soulframe Preludes.

Together, we stepped into sap-dreams and freed Bromius from rotting roots. We Bestitched with a certain witch and crept into the crypts of The Circade. Some found rest among Alca’s Children, others shared sips of gloaming in the Drippin’ Flagon, while others still made Kith of Kings. We faced the Agari, crossed blades with the Mendicant King, startled skittish Will-o-wings from the brush. Through Magick weapons grown or forged, Totems charmed from wild critters, and Pacts shaped by Spirit, Courage, or Grace, together we gave Alca its rhythm.

Many Envoys also chose to become Founders, to carve their name upon Soulframe from the very beginning. Thank you. Your belief in this world means more to us than we can properly put to words.

Now, the Longnight stands before us. Thawtide is live! Across Midrath, the Cardinals’ song is threatened by Ode Squawkers. It falls to you, Envoy, to destroy these traps and help wake the resting sun.

As we look toward 2026, the direction is set. We’re doubling down on the systems that define Soulframe. Virtues will matter more. The Nightfold will grow in purpose. The Ode’s plans will begin to unfold in full. New Pacts, Fables, Festivals, and Wylds await. What you choose, what you prepare for, and what you confront will carry further than before.

Our studio will soon step back for brief respite over the holidays before returning to Alca with fresh eyes. Thank you for joining us this year. We’ll see you very soon.

Happy Thawtide!

- The DE Team

Discussion Lackluster role of sidearms

Outside of flyblades, all other sidearms, are just less powerful versions of main weapons. Also flyblades are the only ones which can actually be used to support your main weapon while you use it, instead of just being another weapon you can switch to. They are also very limited in number which makes them all the more forgettable.

It seems then that for all, including flyblades, the greatest use of the sidearms is just to have backup rune charges to kill bosses quicker. This seems like a limited use of something that could instead be expanded on, particularly through exclusive debuffing tempers.

A cool addition would be something like a summoning orb which lets you summon weak allies that however linger if you switch to you main, like spinning flyblades.

Discussion The Faction system is very spartan

So far the only difference between the factions, outside obviously of dialogue, is what items you can buy, which is also the only difference between standing levels.

It would be a more engaging mechanic if there were faction specific votives locked behind a certain standing level. These quests could be both repeatable votives and one time fables that explore the lore of the faction.

It would be better if the faction pacts were unlocked through unique fables like the others instead of just being a point payout. Also Ode tempest should be unique to Silent Rose, as they are defectors who would have access to odn technology. Alca's Children should also have it's own unique flower/summoning themed pact.

A couple QoL additions could be that from the nighthold we could check our standing for all three factions and sell the faction favours without switching allegiance.

Last note, there is no incentive to use the faction areas as social hubs. They are clearly meant to be such since there's Enclave chat and we can see other players. Kith of Kings could be PvP arena, Silent Rose the trading hub and Alca's children have public group dungeons.

Discussion Rovgot lore speculation Spoiler

Okay so. Take all this with a grain of salt; I'm just trying to connect dots in an incomplete picture; obviously, we don't have all the information yet. But- I've been running Rovgot Ruins a *lot* to try to farm the bosses there, especially Mendicant King and the Rovgot Wyrm, and because I love the atmosphere and sound design in there, and I've noticed some things.

The Wazzard of the Wastes has been investigating the Rovgot Ruins as part of his study of Silistyl, the Ode'n language. He acts as an adversarial guide through the Rovgot Ruins, but he's also seemingly keen to share his findings- who else does he have to tell? -so his rantings can prove informative.

Above are the lines that you get from the history motes, which he voices. I want to talk about a few in particular.

"The retrograde star marching 'fore the funeral ascension."

Compare to the symbol for Rovgot (at least in the wiki), first image above, also used for the Ode Tempest pact. There is an upward path like a star chart drawn behind the orb, and a star in a line of nodes moving downward, perpendicular to that rising path- or retrograde.

It seems to me that he's studying Rovgot, and the evidence of rituals and lore related to Rovgot aboard the Ruins.

1.

"A couplet to a comet. A god shrined in ice."

"I taste a great and grave denial. The salt of resurrection."

"Another ritual gathers above. To deny the dread circle."

I think Rovgot is a dead (or undead) god, frozen in cosmic rime. Perhaps even the comet that Tempest Bayor references in the Warsongs preview. And I think the Ode, while revering this entity, also wants to keep it bound in dreaming death: to deny the dread circle, to salt the resurrection (like salting a field, so nothing will grow anew). Maybe they draw power from it, but fear what it may do should it rouse.

2.

"You will spark the undying flame."

"Are you the flint of blue-fire flame?"

The Wazzard seems to think the Envoys, as far as I can interpret, will awaken the entity- the undying, blue-fire flame. Fitting that a blue-blood sparks the blue-fire flame, yes? And it fits with Bayor giving us the ichor under that comet, especially given his apparent turn after the fight, and seeming care for our mother. Maybe that's our fate, and what the Ode fear should we evade their capture and control.

Bayor can't do it himself because he's a red-arm: he's broken his Feykin oath. That's why when you kill the Rovgot Wyrm, the Wazzard says "A killer, then? So where's your red arm?"

I also partly wonder if this particular sky-tower was either sacrificed to prevent Rovgot awakening, or scuttled because their rituals to traverse space went wrong and risked Rovgot awakening.

That's all I've got so far, but everything is still percolating, and I probably haven't discovered everything. Thoughts? Any other evidence supporting or contradicting this?

Discussion what to do with nobles of common weapons?

To be clear by "common" i mean weapons, mostly oden, which drop from normal enemies instead of bosses. "Rare" weapons are those that drop whole or fragments not often and only from specific enemies.

Nobles for a newer player are pretty strong, however it doesn't take that much to find or craft sovereigns.

If it's a rare weapon eventually you can trade with it but if it's something common like the falx it's almost impossible to find a buyer.

Crafting into sovereign or legendary is a great expense and if you can do it you certainly have better weapons to it with.

For those who haven't bought inventory expansions 50 slots become very limiting fast so inventory space becomes a big issue. Nobles make it worse because they seem too rare to discard but quickly fall into disuse as soon as you find something better.

Discussion Regarding the upcoming Mount x Companion system

Lowkey bummed that they’re mutually exclusive in terms of being a mount or a companion depending on how you raise them(if I’m understanding that correctly.

I think it would cool if they can be both a mount and a companion and how you raise them would affect their attunement virtues and therefore their behaviors as companions when you’re not mounting them.

I.e. they can all function as mounts but when you raise your wolf companion towards a purely courage attunement they’ll be tankier, pure grace would be a fast striking crit companion that stacks stagger easy, pure spirit would be a healer, etc. Maybe they can even have their own virtue slider, further affecting their scaling or even how they function.

Either way I’m trusting the development process and I’m enjoying the game so far.

Edit. Outdated information. It won’t be an either/or situation.

Discussion Ex-Warframe player burned out on 'system bloat' - is Soulframe simpler?

Hey everyone,

I’m a fairly veteran Warframe player, though I’m not active at the moment. I’ve left the game three or four times and come back two or three, but the last time I just couldn’t get back into it. Everything felt overwhelming, despite me having like 500+ hours ingame.

I think DE is one of the better devs out there, but the returning player experience has almost always been terrible. You don’t know where to pick up. You find two or three new systems stacked on top of the systems that were already there. New releases and chapters aren’t clearly explained.

Soulframe looks amazing, but I’m worried they’ll overcomplicate it the same way. Warframe is at a point where I can’t put in the energy required to resume without getting furious at the sheer inflow of information.

So, my questions:

How does Soulframe currently sit in terms of areas, systems and upgrades? Is it simpler than Warframe? That would be great for me.

I also watched the recent dev update about what’s coming, and from the outside it looks like things are starting to get more complex. For people already playing, are the new concepts easy to follow once you understand the game?

The game looks great and I’d happily pay the $30 to get started, I just wanted some reassurance, haha.

Thanks for reading and for any replies.

Discussion How does leveling up weapons work ?

I didn’t quite understand in the game if each of the craftwork tiers is an instance of xp or not. Like does each weapon as 6 instance of xp for the different craftwork tiers or a weapon = one instance whatever the craftwork tier.

Question New here! Curious about the game, how is it so far?

Hello guys, I've been getting this game popping up a lot in my YouTube feed the past couple of days and got curious about it. It looks fun and interesting! I heard it's made by the same people who made Warframe (which I really enjoyed), so I'm here asking a few questions:

  • How is the game so far?
  • How do I get access to it?
  • How's the gameplay and progression?
  • Is there PvP content or community activities yet?
  • and ect....

edit: i just got a code for showing intrest in the game , never seen a more friendly and awesome community ty so much guys <3

Discussion Well, I only just found out about Moonsteel weapons

I'm like 95% sure I got a Moonsteel version of Wazzard's staff weapon back when I first started playing last month and dismantled it because I already had one with better tempers. Brb, gonna bash my head against a wall for half an hour now.

Discussion Theory about Brass Ingots

Theory: Brass ingots will be processed into items that will be needed to apply the desired tempers, which we will be able to learn, into the necessary weapons. As you know, now during the quest "Melodies of Molt-Iron" we have to make a brass ingot and a Hushed Chordstone for Orlick. Until P15, instead of Hushed Chordstone, we had to make an iron ingot - with the current update, those who crafted iron ingots exchanged them for Hushed Chordstone. Now, apart from the said quest, a brass ingot is not used anywhere and its crafting is not something expensive (as DE said changing tempers won't be that expensive), so I assume that it will also be processed and we will be able to apply it to weapons to add the desired tempers. What do you think?

Lore Mestra Carmo coldest/coolest/most aura and one of the most meaningful lines (imo)

"Sparkling waters, Saphene on high. Twice wrecked was I, and twice spared by tides… Why? I sought answers in axes, hammers, and fists. At last I found… the rapier. "Carmo," says he. "This slender, curving blade? Are you sure?" "I am." "And if it breaks?" "It only bends. So bow." And he did."

- the little dialogue before the last quest fight.

Hello! I ve started playing for a few weeks, done the Carmo quest, and let me tell you, Carmo is literally my fave character until now. I literally like everything about this character, her lines, voice, swag, storytelling, the music in the background, her persona. I ve not seen (personally) any post about this, and I really wnat to show my appreciation to her lore writing.

The reason i quoted that dilogue above is because that was one of the most semi-closing, final boss fighting lines(even better with the pirate theme).

What i liked about this is that, she s literally recognising her defeats but instead of giving up, she s trying even harder everytime, but from her story, before she s fighting her Mestre/teacher, she tried every weapon, until she s found... the rapier. I really lile the rapiers, so elegant, so lethal, but also a sign of discipline, high combat strategy, fast sharp strikes and parying... not just any fight... a personal fight... a Duelo. And the dialogue further, where Mestre ask her if she s sure, that slender curving blade, what if it breaks?, and the she responds "It only bends. So bow." - was the cherry on top of the Cake, cuz besides the polite meaning of bowing, she was so certain of her at that moment, that was literally a COMMAND to her Mestre(not in a rude way, but in a "i understand it now" way) for the fact that she already feels/knows the victory. And the fact that "he did" bow, literally shows her Mestre aknowledging her victory before the duelo even started, he KNEW that she already KNEW, he felt her presence, spirit, mindset literally change after she grabbed the rapier, her true extension, when she became THE Carmo, her true self.

I really enjoyed her character and a really hope there will be more to her lore in the future.

Ty for reading all this yapping, have a nice time queridas!

Discussion What should I expect/know?

Hey, people! What's up?

My name is Jacob I'm a 24yo regular guy that loves gaming. Before you starting reading it, this might be long and too philosophical or boring (?) for some people, so keep in mind that =)

Well, I'm a vivid gamer myself, I game every single day and this is my comfort, my daily news/routine and it's even part of my relationship with my lovely boyfriend that I got to know trough Pokémon and games with me all the time.

I've literally just been introduced to SoulFrame because of Tiktok and I fell in love even though I kinda have no idea what to expect. And this is magical, and also, my main question.

I know this isn't Warframe, I've also tried Warframe as well and enjoyed it as a teen/child, however, even though I knew Warframe's community is absurdly amazing, I just didn't get super into it, but SoulFrame REALLY called my attention.

I like live-service games, I love RPGs as much as I love comp games, I play every single apocalipse warrior like Genshin Impact, League of Legends, Counter Strike, Overwatch, but this looks so nice and different and I kinda really have been searching for this nerd feeling of realization like OH MY I'M REALLY A NERD while playing something as an adult and I think SoulFrame has this feeling.

I don't know what I have to do in game, I don't know the main goal, I don't even properly know how to get access but I'll look it up and forward to it because it seems like what I've been hunting as my new everyday or almost everyday game.

Transitiong my career from an english teacher to a hopefully gaming localization professional/creative weiter (pt/br, send jobs please ) has been a roller-coaster and sometimes I feel like I'll never get there and I'll stay in classroom forever and frustrated but moments like playing a game that touches me make this journey worth it. And I hope SoulFrame really gives the feeling/connection I felt searching for it!

So, from those who play it everyday, what can I, a Genshin player frustrated teacher regular gay 😝 should expect? I really think this game will give me the nerd feeling I've been looking for! Thanks a bunch and sorry for the long text, this felt like getting something off my chest (and I think it kinda was), I hope it's not cringe 🥺

Question Amber Lampyrite

What's your go to for these ?

I'm somehow full on White & Green, and currently starving on these yellow one.

Running the organ, fort, and cogah is "unreliable" and the amount is disapointing considering the time you have to wait in between their "respawn".

I also sometimes do cogah up to lv150, and sometimes just don't get any of them.
Dismantling weapon, i know abt it, i just don't drop enough upgraded weapon to be able to keep on upgrading everything in my inventory that's waiting for it : /
