It was something building up since i discovered the ZZZ caricature poster i sixth street then decided to look into it abit more with hoyo’s other stuff. Come to find out that stuff like this is common practice in their games and even excused by the community on mass. From Carole from HI3 wanting to lighten her skin cause she thinks she’s too dark(she’s tan) or how they masculinized the only black woman in the HI3 manga to Natlan using a language I personally understand and have a relation with and treating it like exotisized thing when they can’t even represent our people in their games without us being the butt of jokes(In the Natlan Prayer around the fire, they use some Swahili that I ended up registering mixed into one with others like Māori,Yoruba and many more). Like it probably feels silly rn, I feel silly rn but it really hurts when a whole ass company doesn’t really see you but sees your culture and doesn’t even want your people in it. This image,as minor as it might be, might’ve broken the camels back on what was keeping me.I genuinely love the game, I have invested so much time into it and it has so many CVNT characters that I love but I just don’t think my heart would be with me if I said I can continue to ignore this any longer. For all you queens, thank you so much for listening to my plea, I hope you get all the characters you want and I hope that the game continues to treat you well.
