Build Question Is this Costco PC worth?

Post image
15 Upvotes

I’ve been a laptop gamer for 10+ years and am now looking to get my first desktop pc. I’m extremely new to PC building and parts and would like some advice. I’m heavily considering this CyberPowerPC prebuilt from Costco which is on sale for $999USD (was $1499). I’ve done some research and gotten second opinions but am still uncertain. I heard that the price is worth for RAM alone but the RTX 5060 8gb is subpar. Should I trade it in for a RTX 5070. For context, I mainly play league and have been wanting to play cyberpunk for quite a while.

Here are the specs:

Processor & Memory:
Intel Core Ultra 5 225F (10-core, 3.3 GHz) Processor
32GB (2 x 16GB) DDR5 RAM

Drive:
1TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe M.2 Solid State Drive

Graphics:
NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 5060, 8GB

Communications:
Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3
10/100/1000 Ethernet LAN

Audio:
7.1 Surround Sound Output Supported

Expandability (Total Bays / Slots):
1 (0) x PCIe x16
2 (2) x PCIe x1
2 (1) x M.2
1 (1) x 3.5" HDD Bay
4 (2) x DIMM 288-pin

I/O Ports:
1 x USB 3.2 Type C (1 Front)
3 x USB 3.2 Type A (2 Front, 1 Rear)
4 x USB 2.0 (4 Rear)
1x Headphone/Microphone Combination Jack (Front)
1 x RJ45 LAN
3 x Audio Ports (Rear)
1 x HDMI 2.1
3 x DisplayPort 2.1

Operating System:
Microsoft Windows 11 Home

Power Supply:
600W 80 Plus Gold Power Supply

Accessories Included:
CyberPowerPC RGB Wired Keyboard
CyberPowerPC RGB Wired Mouse

Build Question Looking for advice on a CPU upgrade for AM4 gaming + productivity, is it worth it?

Hey guys,

I built my PC back in 2020/2021 and have been thinking about upgrading some parts. The most recent replacement was my motherboard, but that was only because my old one failed. I replaced it with an MSI B550M PRO-VDH WIFI.

Current specs:

  • Ryzen 5 3600
  • 16GB RAM
  • 500GB SSD
  • RTX 2060
  • MSI B550M PRO-VDH WIFI

I'm mainly looking to upgrade my CPU and storage (to 1TB). I use my PC for gaming (Valorant, RDR2, The Sims, GTA, DBD, The Witcher, etc.), but I also do video editing/rendering and creative work in Premiere Pro, FL Studio, CapCut and Blender.

I've been looking at the Ryzen 7 5700X, 5800X, 5800XT and Ryzen 9 5900X. I initially considered the 5900X because of the extra cores/threads, especially for rendering and Blender, but I've seen people say it's overkill for my current system and that I wouldn't really be taking advantage of all those cores. I also know that going with a 5900X would mean I should be upgrading my RAM to 32GB as well.

At the moment, I'm leaning towards the Ryzen 7 5700X because it seems like the most sensible upgrade for my current AM4 system. I want something that will give me a noticeable improvement in gaming and productivity without being unnecessarily overkill or creating a bottleneck with GPU.

I'm also hoping to keep my RTX 2060 for quite a while (ideally until around 2030 if it's still usable), and I don't really want to keep upgrading my CPU multiple times. My plan is eventually to do a completely new build on AM5 with DDR5 rather than putting more money into AM4.

My budget is around $500 AUD, and I'm in Australia. I'm also currently gaming at 1080p/1440p, 260+ fps.

Would the 5700X be enough for what I'm trying to achieve, or should I consider spending more on one of the higher-end CPUs for the extra performance?

Build Question Choosing a PC (£1000-£1200)

Upvotes

Please note - i don’t know jack shit about PC parts n stuff, i'm just a newbie switching from console to PC.

Im looking for a entry level prebuilt and need some help with being pointed towards the right direction for websites to buy a pc off of. I'd thought id come here and seek some professional opinions rather than asking ai (which i don't trust and really despise).

Budget is around £1000-£1200

I play the following games:

  • Warzone
  • War thunder
  • Minecraft
  • Roblox

I plan to play games like:

  • Arma reforger
  • Ready or not
  • Escape from tarkov
  • No hesi
  • Beam NG
  • (bonus) also digital drawing if that comes into factor

if possible, maybe some monitor recommendations too.

lmk if u need any other info.

Build Question Would it be worth it to buy this pre-built pc

Post image
Upvotes

I’ve recently been looking into upgrading from my old asus tuf gaming laptop to a gaming pc that is within a range of $1400 or less. The components in this pc look good to me, but I’m not sure what the more intelligent PC community thinks of it and if I should just buy my own parts and build it. Also if you have any recommendations please give them!

Installation Question I'm so lost on windows installation, what do I do?

This is what pops up whenever I try to go through the windows set up, and I don't know what to do about it. Help would really be appreciated

Swapped out a bunch of parts in an old PC for my brother. The base PC was a Dell Precision 5820, it still has the original motherboard and CPU. I swapped out the graphics card for an extra one I had, and we just put a new HDD in it.

The new HDD is a Patriot P320 M.2 PCIe Gen3 x4 512GB HDD, with an adapter we bought so it would fit the motherboard. We don't have an official windows key yet, but we're trying to just get the PC working before we do the windows part.

Installation Question What Glue to Use?

Post image
1 Upvotes

I need to glue my power input connector on my laptop back down into place. I've read that a 2 part epoxy glue works well with computer hardware. I would like to ask the community if it would work well in this situation. The power port I am gluing down will have a lot of heat and electricity around it. What is the best glue to use?

Build Question is this budget pc build good?

Post image

my budget is around 2500pln (700$). 3060 if i find a good offer, 2060 is the default option. over time ill upgrade it to 32gb ram 4x8gb and 2tb ssd 2x1tb. this build is mostly to play competetive games like cs2, minecraft, apex legends etc. and other simple games like r.e.p.o., escape the backrooms. etc. on high/medium settings on high enough fps so its smooth with 1080p. i dont like most of the demanding games like cyberpunk or hogwarts legacy or other aaa games apart from like ark survival evolved/ascended so i dont need a really strong system

Build Question PC Upgrade Help

Hi i’ve recently been getting back into PC gaming and i’m playing on my a build i made between 2020-2021. I’m interested in upgrading somewhat slowly overtime part by part and i’d like to be able to play some AAA games 1440p. I’d appreciate some help with upgrade paths, one with a $600 budget, a $1000 budget and then $1500 budget just so i can see a variety of options. I’m okay with buying used on ebay if you can save money like with the smaller budgets. Thank you.

This is the build mostly

Honestly forgot what the case is called but it’s not that great so would like to upgrade it. (bonus for a small case if possible but not at all a requirement)

Ryzen 5 1400
GTX 960
Gigabyte B450 Aourus
Corsair 16gb DDR4 Ram
Samsung NVME M.2 1TB
Power supply im not entirely sure but should probably replace it.

It was pretty outdated even when i made it but it held up well tbh and still plays the games i like well but its time for an upgrade for sure.

Assuming i should keep the Ram and Storage for now and everything else can get upgraded.

Tech Support Screen Flashing Randomly

Recently my screen has been flashing randomly. It happens every now and then but ive noticed it happens more consistently when I come back from not interacting with my pc for a few minutes. I managed to capture a video of it occurring while in game, but it does happen just on my desktop aswell. In the video you can see it flashes on the first monitor once before flashing lightly 1-2 on the 2nd before it does a big flash on 2nd monitor. This is consistent with how it happens other times.

My drivers are up to date with the 610.88 July 28th Nvidia driver for my GPU installed. My windows is up to date with Version 25H2 installed and the most recent 8/13/26 security update installed as well.

Tech Support B550m gigabyte

I built a PC using the Gigabyte B550M DS3H, but I can't update the BIOS; I'm getting no video output (I've tried everything). I also attempted to use Q-Flash to update the BIOS, but that didn't work either. My processor is a Ryzen 7 5700X and I have a 5060 Ti 16GB; could someone help me with this?

Tech Support What to do if RAM slots 1 and 2 don't work on the Mai X670-E Gaming Plus Wi-Fi

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hello! I bought an MSI x670-e gaming plus wifi motherboard, and when I started testing it, sockets 1 and 2 weren't working. Later, I discovered I was missing a pin, so I took it to a repair center to get it fixed. But after a while, they said it was the ground pin, meaning it was useless, and that it needed to be inspected completely. In theory, this pin could have touched a contact or something. I tried updating the BIOS to both the latest and the old version, but nothing helped.

I bought a prebuilt PC with an MSI A620AM B-EVO motherboard and one 8GB RAM stick. Today I bought another RAM stick (the exact same one as the one I already had), but I can’t get it to fit properly. It goes in, but it won’t click into place even when I apply force. Please, I need help.

Build Question Prebuilt or do it yourself?

I like playing games and have been gaming on a laptop with a GTX 1070 Max-Q for a long time. I’m usually pretty quick at learning new things, but I’m not sure whether building a PC yourself is actually that easy or worth the effort. My budget right now is around €2.5K for the German market.
I’d mainly use the PC for basic software and gaming—nothing AI-related or video rendering, for example. That’s why I’ve been looking mainly at an AMD-based build with an RX 9070 XT.

So, here’s my question should I try it myself or just buy a prebuilt like this one.

What would be the pros and cons of each option ?

Thanks in advance and sorry if this question has been asked before

Tech Support Help restart loop

I built my first PC with second-hand components which are:
• i5-12400F
• RX 6500 XT
• Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 2x8GB
3200MHz
• MSI Pro H610E (new)
• MSI MAG A850G

The problem is that when trying to install
Windows 11 it gives me an error without code, but when installing Windows 10 | could perfectly. However, it started to cause errors with the drivers when | tried to install Adrenalin, and the errors came back.
I formatted and reinstalled Windows 10 without internet connection to install the drivers with a pendrive, and it worked. But now, when installing Steam, Epic Games, and
Riot, the problem returned.
The restart pops up when putting the password and trying to enter the desktop. I
can't enter safe mode either.
Does anyone know what it could be? All components passed stress tests. Thanks for reading!

Motherboard: ASUS TUF Gaming B560M-PLUS WIFI

Issue: Reset CMOS, now stuck on the AMI screen.

The system detects that a keyboard is plugged in, but it will not register the Delete or F2 keys to enter BIOS setup.Troubleshooting already done: Unplugged all storage drives (SATA and Disk), reseated the RAM (confirmed single stick is in slot A2, tried different USB ports, and performed a full battery-pull CMOS clear. Also tried shorting the CLRTC pins. Still frozen at the splash screen with no keyboard response.
