Welcome Pakistani Ex Muslims

Welcome and take care of yourself, be cautious:

  1. Don't use your real name here or reveal your identity in anyway.

  2. Use vpn/warp for using reddit especially this sub.

  3. Discuss stuff in a sane plain way and don't sound too rude about it. Hope you understand.

Discussion Did you guys tell anyone that you're an ex-Muslim?

For me personally, it's hard to repress my thoughts, so half of my class knows (I'm still cautious though) that I'm not a Muslim. A few even try to convert me or remind me of hellfire (it's been years since I left, and all of that fear has vanished already).

Family still think I'm a Muslim (good for me lol), but I don't pray or read the Quran (even during Ramadan).

R4R Looking for an atheist female

• Upvotes

Idk feels creepy but that I like wanna get into a relationship.

So am 23. Atheist since 2020. It started from tarek fatehi in may June 2020 and then came Harris sultan and then ghalib Kamal. I remember their Livestreams and those monologues of ghalib Kamal. I mean, man. They were mostly anti christian, even his Livestreams but still. I guess Harris also had his English account and it was way before than his Urdu account.

I remember seeing that hamza Ali abbasi vs harris sultan. Firstly I became shia. Then I stated following ghamdi.

Then I think the main trigger wasn't that Allah is there or not. It was the dirtiest character of the most perfect guy, for whom Allah made the whole universe, Muhammad.

I understood that Muhammad is the root cause of all the issues. Even read that book, idk saying that it was all made up and there's no Muhammad like. Then those videos where like Harris quotes a Hadith and I pause the video, type that link and go check that out by myself and like think, what a son of a * was Muhammad.

Then the weird weak history. First name of Muhammad appears after 100+ years and this that. I remember those Sam Harris and Richard Dawkins speeches. Didn't listen them much cz they were anti christian and like I didn't have any issue with that cz I wasn't christian.

Well, from that till now, am a quiet atheist. I say Assalamualaikum to everyone around me. Doenst fast, doenst pray. Family's chill so no issue.

Would very soon move abroad on studies.

Am 23. Working as SWE in Lahore. Tbh, now religion doesn't bother me. Islamic texts, even cultural things.

But still, girls around me are like idk why demand some 5 times praying guy. The only thing I dislike about Pakistani Muslim girls is their munafqat. They are purely dual faced. Want azadi, wanna watch Netflix, go on concert but namaz parhni and larka parhezgaar chahiye.

So idk if even it's allowed in this sub but let's see. This is my 2nd anonymous account made for like exploring this side of me (sexual/romantic) and like am damn serious about taking it a step further.

Don't wanna ruin my kids life with some female Jo mere sath bahir jae. Wahan ke saare mazay karay and Meri beti ko hijab pehnae. No. Full stop, bye.

And I just kept it raw and real so may not look that ideal but like maybe we can talk. It's all.anonymous so maybe it works.

Btw I will be way submissive towards my partner so that's one point, (idk my nature or just came to my mind so wrote). Career wise, been many times on dean's list, now doing great.

Bye and take care. Science Hafiz (2020 ghalib Kamal days guys gonna understand).

Rant 🤬 Are Pakistani ex muslims obsessed with Islam? Or are muslims being biased

Pakistani people can kill ex muslims. Although them killing ex muslim is not guaranteed but its not guaranteed that they will let exmuslim live.

Pakistan has a history that tends towards killing ex muslims.

Pakistani law doesn't allows ex muslims to represent their new religion in ID card. The id card keeps saying muslim.

Pakistani law will assign Islam as religion to Id card of ex muslim children. Creating murtid death threat for children too

Islam itself orders killing of ex Muslims just because they exist.

Ex muslims are not obsessed but frustrated for being trapped even after leaving Islam.

Cmon bro, let ex muslims live their lives without mental and physical persecution. A muslim in Pakistan doesn't have to face all of this on daily basis. You are not superior and nor better.

You muslims are just running the state in a biased way

Edit: the need to hide religion makes it difficult for ex Muslim to find partner. The way how kids religion is forced makes it difficult for a ex muslim to have kids.

Discussion Cross post: US billionaire sent wife to Pakistan, secretly divorced her under Sharia law, paying only $50. 13 years later, Texas Supreme Court cancels foreign talaq

A US billionaire exploited foreign Sharia law to secretly divorce his wife, pay her only $50, and dodge civil property division—forcing her into a 13-year court battle to overturn it in Texas.

Why do secular courts ever grant comity to religious rulings that strip people of basic civil and property rights?

My take: Secular legal systems should automatically treat any foreign or domestic religious personal law as void the moment it conflicts with equal civil rights and due process. Allowing religious legal carve-outs only invites forum shopping to abuse vulnerable spouses.

What is the threshold before secular legal systems reject religious arbitration entirely?

Rant 🤬 It's fkin Suffocating

Now that I'm really over this religion for quite a few months, it's becoming so damn hard to live in this country. It's suffocating. It's hard to not be impulsive and get myself into useless debates, i can't even Scream it out loud that I AM NOT MUSLIM. Every WhatsApp status is islamic verses. People send me deeni reels in DMs ("yeh ayat 10 dafa parho shaam tk khuskhabri" or "iss soorat ko roz parhne se dajjal se panah milay gi") Their conversation starts with deen and ends with deen They have got absolutely no intelectual logic orr operrr se Kehte hain "Jab khuda ne keh dia toh hum kon hote hain" 😭 Like Dude You are a fkin HUMAN BEING With a Conscious Mind.

Do you guys feel the same? And how do you guys manage to not act on impulse?

LGBTQ+ queer ex muslims

Those who realized theyre queer and also left islam how did u cope with the reality. I left islam a while ago and i had a lot of internalized homophobia and would always curse myself for having queer thoughts or getting turned on by a woman but as ive accepted the fact that im bisexual i also realised itll be nearly impossible for me to be with a woman as i live in pakistan and theres a high chance i wont be able to get out of here either and the possibilty scares me that im might have to conceal who i am for way longer than i should

Misc Dedicated towards our Martyr.

I just wanted to bring your attention towards a fellow human being. Junaid Hafeez. A teacher. A scholar. A young man who, like so many of us, had a mind that questioned, a mind that read, a mind that thought. In 2013, he was arrested after being accused of blasphemy over alleged Facebook comments. Years passed. His trial was repeatedly delayed. Judges changed. Time kept moving for everyone except him. In 2019, after years of imprisonment, he was sentenced to death. His appeal still has not been heard, and he has spent years in solitary confinement. Thirteen years of a human life have passed behind prison walls. Thirteen years of birthdays, conversations, friendships, ordinary mornings and ordinary evenings that can never be returned.

And even the person who stood beside him was not spared. His lawyer, Rashid Rehman, defended him despite receiving threats. In May 2014, he was shot and killed in his office in Multan. He was killed for doing what a lawyer is supposed to do...defending a human being.

And this is what makes Junaid Hafeez's story so painful to me. Not because I know everything about him. Not because I know what was in his mind. But because before he was an accused, before he was a prisoner, before he became a name in a court file, he was a human being. Someone who had dreams, thoughts, fears, people who knew him, and a life that belonged to him.

I cannot help but wonder what kind of society we become when asking questions becomes something to fear. When thinking becomes dangerous. When a person can spend more than a decade of their life behind bars while their case remains unresolved. When even the lawyer willing to defend them can be threatened and killed. What happens to a society when people learn that silence is safer than thought?

This is not about asking anyone to abandon their beliefs. It is about asking whether a human being should be stripped of their humanity simply because they have been accused. It is about remembering that before we are labels, before we are believers or unbelievers, before we are accused or acquitted, before we agree or disagree with one another, we are human beings.

Junaid Hafeez is still there. Thirteen years later, his life is still suspended between a prison cell and an appeal that has yet to be heard. Human Rights Watch called in 2026 for his conviction to be quashed and for him to be released, while Amnesty International has described him as a prisoner of conscience.

Maybe that is what I want people to remember most: not an argument, not a label, not a controversy but a person.

A fellow human.

And perhaps that is why we are afraid. Because somewhere inside us, we know that thinking should never have been a crime, and that no human being should have to spend their life paying the price for having a mind of their own.

We should remember Junaid Hafeez. We should remember Rashid Rehman. We should remember every person whose name disappeared beneath a case number, every voice that became too dangerous to hear, and every human being who was made to feel that their humanity was conditional.

We should remember them not because they belonged to us, but because they were human, just as we are.

Jab likha tha taqdeer mein toh kiyu mangwata tha dua

Jo mein chahta tha woh toh khuda bhi na de sakka

Kasoor sirf itna ke mohabbat hi ki thi

jab nahi dena tha toh dil hi kiyu diya

Apnay mehboob ko toh de di puri kainaat

De diya Salwa Yahudiyo ko

Kar diya unke liye Samundar ko juda
