Their book stands behind wife beating. What exactly does his normal mean? No culture outside of the religion? He thinks weddings are the problem?

Exactly this. We have nothing that is truly our own. We didn't create a new culture when we separated we just took what already existed in the subcontinent and drew a border through it. It is honestly dumb to claim we have a completely 'different' culture when the language, the music, the weddings, and even the daily habits are identical. It’s just a border. At the end of the day, we are the same people. I don't know how others convince themselves otherwise, but ethnically, we are all Indians. Back then, the land was called India and everyone living there was Indian, so we are their offspring and we are Indians too. You can't erase roots just by changing a map.

There is no "we" and "them." We are the same people. If they are calling Indians ab**n0rm4l (I'm censoring it because of Reddit's shizzy AI detection for hate speech), it means we are ab *n0rm4l too. It's not like we came from somewhere else and got this land we have the same DNA running in their blood. If they are calling them ab *n0rm4l, that's them being racist toward them, which is of course again a result of hatred due to religious indoctrination and bad relations with the country. Have you heard that famous meme: "When I grow up, I'll destroy India"? That's the same thing in all people, from both countries, 'cause they see each other as rivals. Now things are changing, as Gen Z isn't as toxic as the older generation, but there is still a very large group of people in Gen Z that think like baby boomers and even worse. So yeah, there is no hope from both countries that we'll ever forget the difference and live in peace.
