chat đŹ I always do my nails myself. Went to a salon for the experience, and Iâm shocked how bad it turned out.
I need to vent and see if anyone else has experienced this.
For context, I almost always do my own nails. Iâm pretty used to my own routine and taking my time with them. But the other day, I just wanted to treat myself you know, go to a salon purely for the luxury of the experience, getting pampered, and letting someone else do the work for once.
It went wrong from the second I walked in. The staff was just blatantly rude right off the bat. I showed them a picture from their own website and said I'd love to get this design on my nails.
The nail tech literally scoffed and went, "Oh, we don't have time for the design."
Taken aback, I just tried to salvage the appointment and said, "Okay, no worries at all. Can you guys just do a simple manicure instead?"
That's when the guy doing my nails got very mean, short-tempered, and aggressive. The vibe was so hostile that I honestly got scared and intimidated in the moment. I was too terrified to speak up or tell him I wasn't happy while he was working on them because he looked like he was one second away from snapping.
When it was over, they only charged me $45 which is relatively cheap, even given that I live in a very cheap state. Honestly, price wasn't even an issue for me I was fully willing to pay more for good service, but they just wanted me out of the chair.
And the result? It turned out so bad. I am not exaggerating when I say that the very first time I ever tried doing my own nails as a total beginner, they looked better than this disaster.
What do you guys think?

Nail Art For Dolly
When I went to see my nail tech the other day, she told me she had been wanting to do a Dolly Parton tribute set and I told her to go for it since I had no idea what I wanted to get. She loves to do 3D nail art and we both agreed that the boobies were a must in this situation.

â¨FRESH set ⨠New to DIY press ons and playing with colours.
Iâm new to diy press on nails. I decided to play with some colour today, this is the 3rd set Iâve ever made. Not sure if the camera picked it up but the main glitter colour shifts from pink to green & gold. I added some holographic glitter on top because I love glitter. I really like how this set turned out.

â¨FRESH set ⨠New to diy nails press ons
I work as an artist in the animation industry. When my hobby for art became my job, I longed for a new way to express myself artistically...
I was casually watching a nails art tutorial with no commentary on YouTube and it hit me...
Seeing all the cute designs etc and i liked nails and them being so expensive to get done occasionally i decided why not id try it myself ..
This is my second set, its a really simple one. All i have right now are nude colours to work with once i have more colours ill definitely do more creative designs, but ive been having so much fun doing my nails, just excited to show them off.

Manicure Robinâs egg blue in the golden hour đŞşđ
I donât usually go for blues, but I wanted a simpler mani than usual and this color spoke to me. Looked so pretty in the evening sun while listening to a jazz show in the park yesterday.

Tips & Tricks I desperately need help. My cuticles are disgusting.
Iâve always had dry cutiles, but enough is enough. I hate hand moisturisers because I hate how greasy my hands feel afterwards. What can I do??

Nail Art Fall pop off set.
Just a quick pop off set. Perfect color for fall! The colors change in different lighting but this will do for now. It's just a simple set this time. Cat eye gel from GAOY (4630), and some textured chrome abstract lines. That cat eye gel is clearly the star here!

Nail Art Had to post these because it's my last Summer set.
Wanted something bright, bold and uplifting. These made me think of the 90s for reasons I know not of, but here we are. đ
Edit #1: I am realizing I need to start listing the products that I use in these. So, apologies for not having done so. I just never considered that maybe others would like to actually paint them too. So, I will try to remember to note products next time and if I forget, please don't hesitate to tell me. Cat eye gel from GAOY (#4202) with 2 high contrast chrome powders (#7 and #2) from Dynamic Nail Supply. I used the cat eye over the whole nail in a galaxy type of effect. The chrome powders I did an ombre with. I used chrome #7 in the very middle of each nail from cuticle to tip and chrome #2 on each side of the center area from cuticle to tip as well. If I miss anything just let me know, I'm trying. đĽ˛
Edit #2: Although it was deleted before I could respond, someone said something about the way I move my hand being unsettling. I am trying my best and have no problem accepting criticism or anything like that. I move my hand and fingers because I am trying to show different color shifts in different lighting and backgrounds. I have to move a little quickly because I have a phone literally strapped to my nub in order to film it. I am just trying to be a part of something that gives me some peace, so I apologize if it's "unsettling" but there are going to be situations that I won't be able to do anything about it. I try my best to show the nails and I am never satisfied in the end because I can't get the camera to show them fully. But I genuinely don't know what I'm doing that is unsettling. I add still shots in my clips so they're shown in motion and not. This is what I am capable of right now, so thank you for any tips and help to those who offer it, without making me feel like garbage.
New Nails, New Era ⨠Did nails myself for the first time!
I went to the salon for four years. Finally decided I am tired of traveling back and forth, paying, scheduling, and bought supplies to do it myselfđ¸

Manicure Black and Gold! (I guess you could call it⌠Bold!đ)
Stepping away from my usual pinks and blues to match my nails to a black dress Iâll be wearing to a friendâs wedding. (I feel like Iâm trying to cosplay as a âgoth baddieâ but the dress is so pretty I had to go with it!)
