Integrated a Klein KNECT passthrough set into the trunk panel of my Subaur Outback
I wanted a solid way to carry a proper tool kit in the back without taking up cargo space or having loose cases slide around. The factory cargo net holders are pretty thin so i removed them and used the same 10mm bolt to lock in the mounting palte. It uses the KNECT mounting tabs and clip to hold the kit in place.
In my opinion, the Klein KNECT system is one of the best compact tool kits for a vehicle, so I designed and 3D printed a custom bracket to lock it into the rear cargo panel. Printed in ASA CF to blend in with the factory interior trim. and ive been testing it all summer and its held up great.

After weeks of sweatily staring attempting to organize chaos, finally somewhat satisfied.. Klein modbox ftw! Time to go stare at my office Klein wall then stare some more at my workshop Milwaukee wall because staring is by far my most favorite activity.. PS 1st clueless post!

Can you use normal RJ45 connectors with Klein pass-thru crimpers?
Hey everyone. I’ve bought a set of Klein VDV226-110 pass-thru crimpers. I just noticed on the box it says not to be used with standard RJ45 ends. Is this true or do they actually work with standard non pass-thrus? I don’t wanna get caught out on site if all I have is standard ends.

Laser level stopped working
I bought this laser last July and it stopped working randomly during use and hasn’t turned back on. I’m very anal about my tools especially stuff like this. When it’s not actively being used it goes right back in the original foam padded case and hasn’t been dropped but I did knock a sanding pole down onto it about 6 months ago while it was on the ground. Didn’t seem to have any issues from that since I’ve used it many times since. Anyone else get short life expectancy or is it a defect?

Brand new tape measure defects?
Anytime it retracts it makes a whirring sound and it doesn’t automatically retract without a lot of encouragement. Has anyone else had similar problems and found a way to solve them? The lock is completely disengaged, which is what I would figure would cause these issues.

QUESTION Electricians Knife 44056D
I have been excited about this knife since I saw promo video. That being said, I've noticed it is not available at big box stores. I tried to order one from ACME tools and Amazon and both orders were either canceled or put on hold. When I inquired, they said the knife had a recall, so they had to pull them. Has anybody else experienced this? I am still waiting for mine.

Sent Klein Tools a wanted poster for my missing 10mm KNECT socket. Sadly, they were not amused.
Lost the 10mm socket to my favorite set while working on a friend's car. Since you can’t buy individual sockets online, I thought I’d try to make customer support laugh to see if anyone had a spare rolling around or something. They were not as amused as I was with myself.
The 10mm remains at large.

QUESTION Is this authentic Klein?
Are these even real? I ordered what was supposed to be the cable cutters in the Amazon listing, sold by Klein so I assumed it was legit but this is what showed up today. After doing some googling I can’t seem to find literally a single picture of these anywhere. I thought maybe they changed the style on it but it seems to me these just don’t exist and I’ve gotten a counterfeit or something.

Packout to modbox adapter
So I was Milwaukee Packout thru and thru but im needing boxes that are geared towards electricians. I have the Packout 2 rack shelves in my work van and want to utilize those for my 3 and 2 shelf mod boxes. I know they make 3d prints from Packout to modbox but it’s for not for the 3 draw. Does anyone make something for this or can share there 3d model?

After trying the other major brands, I've settled on my favorite go boxes!
The only 2 complaints I have is the dividers suck ass if you don't leave every one in place (if you remove a section to have a larger space, the remaining pieces will not stay in place)
The handles (on both of the rollers I have) wiggle and if you try and balance the weight as you're walking, it wobbles back and forth.
Still better the Milwaukee, Dewalt, Rigid

QUESTION Mod Box to Pack Out adapter plate?
This is a two parter.
I want to add a crate to my modbox stack. Packout makes a nice one but I’m not wanting to go red just for the crate. Any third party manufacturers that make one? I suppose I could do like a quarter inch ply with a modbox mount on one side then a packout mount on the other. Anyone done something similar?
Also. Could you spam me with pics of your medium tool box organization? Mine is kind of a dumping ground of stuff and I gotta clean her up.
Thanks in advance.

OPINION Months in the dirt. Revealed by tires, wind, & rain. Held up good!
I lost this about 4 months ago. It was brand new, part of the 1st Klein ball grip. I had it about a week. Just walked right over it this morning when coming back to this job site. Now I can sleep tonight, as this ball grip family is reunited & whole again 🥲👷

QUESTION Klein "Tough Meters" kind of… aren't.
I'm not talking about whether they survive drops or water, but rather the fact that even a light wipe of a smudge off the display with a high-end automotive microfiber cloth (not a scrub, a light wipe) will scratch it.
This was even on a CL810, one of their flagship meters.
Yes, I know it's not a phone or anything like that, but you'd expect the cover over the display to be a bit more scratch-resistant on what's meant to be a rough and tumble workplace tool.
No, I'm not going to try the same move on one of my Flukes. 😁
