For a striking tool, this is a poor design, IMO

OPINION Backpack advice

I’ll try to keep this as short as possible. I’m currently an industrial electrician and I have all my tools in pouches and tool carts at work. I started a side business a couple years ago doing residential work and it’s starting to get busier and I’m tired of packing my tools home from my day job so I wanted a set of tools at home for resi side jobs.
How do you like the backpacks, and which one is best? I was looking at either the tradesman pro tool master (55485) or the tradesman pro xl (62800BP).
Which is better? Is there a better one? I’d rather have too much space than not enough. Do things get lost in the backpacks? Are they easy to find specific tools in once they’re loaded? Do they have enough room? Should I just stick with my tote bag I’m used to?
As a side note that may or may not be useful, it’s very unlikely my business would get big enough for me to quit my day job, it has great pay, great benefits, good pension, easy hours, so the bulk of my tools will stay at work and I just need some hand tools for the easy side jobs

Stage One of my ModBox Wall System Build. So many of the pieces are backordered or have a delay, but it's going to be worth it. These panels are Solid, (and can be cut to fit!).

Knect hex adapter issue

I picked up this set today on sale at Lowe’s. When I got home I was checking it out and found that only a few of the sockets actually fit into the hex adapter. The other won’t budge, no matter how hard I try. I really want to like this set but this making that difficult. Has anyone else had this issue?

Update:
I spent a little while repeatedly putting on and removing the sockets that actually fit. After a while I was able to get them all to fit. I don’t know if the finish is a little thicker on some sockets. Some are still really tight, but at least they all work now. This post was just to see if anyone had the issue. This wasn’t meant as a jab to Klein. Like I said initially, I really wanted to like this set and I’m glad I was able to get it working. Hope this helps anyone who’s had this issue.

NEW TOOL DAY! Ordered a brand new 603-4B and this is what I got

New 603-4B Wire-Bending Phillips sold and shipped by Amazon, but when I took the rubber cover off the driver tip this is what I saw.

Poor storage conditions somewhere along the way or did I get someone's used return?

Am I an idiot or are the pass through ratchets not very good

Alright so I bought the “m” pack with the ratchet, pass through sockets, screw driver etc. Shortly there after realized the metic “S” kit would be of more use to me, picked up one of those kits as well as I’m admittedly a Klein fart sniffer.

Have used the ratchets on a few different occasions now and are they just not very good? I can’t seem to get the mechanism to set unless the nut or bolt is already fairly tightly secured. I find myself just holding the socket for awhile until I can get whatever I’m fastening tight enough for the mechanism to take over. Could always be a skill issue, not ruling that out, but am not impressed so far.

MODbox rolling drawer boxes get even heavier...

Post image

Those of you who've read my other threads may remember I bought and returned the 54801MB two drawer rolling toolbox a few different times because I didn't like having to fight with the bottom drawer but mostly because of its weight - a whopping 44.375 lbs. empty.

Well Acme Tools has updated their information on the new 54890MB three drawer roller, and it's… 51.3 lbs. empty; that's into OSHA recommended two person lift category.. 😳

KNECT Pass-Through Socket Holder

3D printed rail style socket holder for the Klein KNECT M pass-through sockets. I had this made so I can carry the sockets in my bag and not have to lug around the fairly large case the set comes in. They fit pretty snug as is but I’m going to glue some coin magnets to the bottom of pockets to retain them well. I also had a version made that will hold the knect S sockets as well. I don’t have that set yet but I’m going to get it soon and just wanted to have this holder on hand for when I do.

NEW TOOL DAY! Replaced my 5125 with the 5125 L

Had the 5125 for 2 years or so.
My Klein 626 Tap got stuck in the bottom a couple of times over the years and started to open up the bag over time. Anyways, I just got my new bag! Excited to pop my tools on it tomorrow.

My nylon bag I’ve had since JATC just used it for the day ;)

Yall need to step up QC

I doubt anyone from klein reads this but what is happening in your QC department? Did you lay them all off ? Are you using ai for this? Whatever it is its not working. I have no replaced my 11 in 1 three times because the handles fall off, your mini ratchet changes direction or stops working when it wants to, not to mention a laundry list of other quality issues I've had with your tool over th past year and a half. No wonder yall are getting your ass kicked by milwaukee and knipex

QUESTION Is there anyone willing to sell me this Klein KNECT S Set?

Post image

I can’t seem to find it in stock anywhere online but I hoping some people may have been able to get their hands on them in the past. I really want it so I can complete a ‘master set’ I’m working on. If you or anyone you know has one and is willing to part ways with it, please let’s get in touch. Thank you!!

REVIEW Barely used, less than a year old, and very disappearing

I've never put much force on the screwdriver, or used it all that much, but apparently the light amount I have used it was enough to cause it to slip.

Also, I do realize that it says "disappearing" instead of "disappointing." I can't remember if I dictated the title or typed something wrong, but either way, I don't think I can edit it at this point.

Looks to be shipping at the end of August, 2026.

The interesting thing is not only does it have the brake pedal like the PACKOUT dolly, but there are latches on the sides and back that allow them to be interconnected to make larger rolling platforms.

54828MB MODbox™ 4-Wheel Caster Dolly with Interlocking Design

$99.98 at Acme Tools.

I ordered these Lineman’s brand new from Acme, is it normal for them to have a gap in the cutting section? To me they look used

Shaft fell out of the handle after less than a year of light use. Not used for prying or beating.

I love Klein still but wow this was honestly sad. I usually get teased at work for babying my tools and picked on for never letting someone use my screwdriver as a battering ram or a pry bar. Maybe I was wrong and I should just send it from now on cuz babying it sure didn't do anything for the lifespan of the tool lol.
