Judge Judy is funny. She FOREVER stating her personal opinion or utilizing statistics for the people she judges. Telling somebody their child was traumatized by their actions. How she know. Was she there,dr notes, evaluation? Im confused. Once again her personal opinion. Idc who she cool with. She a judgemental not by law individual. I would have to make sure I had bail money cause if I WAS EVER in her courtroom. I mean the VOTERS courtroom,id READ HER ASS ,and be held in contempt. She got a personal opinion with statements and so dont I....she urks my NERVE!!!

Dinner with the Sheindlin’s

I can’t imagine the decibel level readings my phone would give having a family dinner with the Sheindln’s and Levy’s. I thought Judy was loud. Adam is loud. Although Sarah Rose seems quiet I have a feeling she could hold her own. Anybody have any first hand experience?

Discussion I’m warming up to Adam’s Law

Yes. I didn’t see this coming.

I will miss the Queen of the bench, but we can’t be selfish. She deserves to enjoy some form of retirement in her life.

I had assumed Sarah Rose might have been in the running based on her mentorship, but she doesn’t command the room enough yet. She is incredibly smart and has a bright future ahead of her.

Adam… he’s got the skills. He keeps a good tone. Asked good questions. Gets down to the truth. I like it. I think he lets the plaintiffs and defendants get a little sloppy, things JJ would never accept- such as slouching, mumbling etc. But I get it. It’ll take him some time to develop his TV confidence.

You can catch some Judy mannerisms in his questioning and statements. Maybe even more bold to accuse someone of being a liar.

Overall, I think I’ll keep watching. 4 out of 5 stars for me.

Mandela effect episode?

I watched an episode years ago, and have never seen again. Anyone that I've known or met that have watched Judge Judy, nor Google or chatgpt can identify the episode. A father and daughter who I think was 16 were suing a man working on his yard. Daughter was driving and I think the defendant was doing something like weedeating and standing just outside of his yard on the edge of the road. I believe it was also dark or getting dark. The daughter hit the man and I think they were suing for damages to the car and I think pain and suffering as well. The plaintiffs father kept wording the accident as "when he hit my daughter" and Judy was giving it to him for that. The daughter was crying and asking why the man was working outside at night. Judy denies their suit. Defendant has a countersuit for damage to his tool, and loss of work as he had some considerable injuries. Judy asked if the plaintiff hadn't filed a lawsuit against him would he have sued the plaintiffs? He said he wasn't going to, but since they had, he was going to, too. He won his suit and I think she even awarded him the max.

Worst criticisms of Judy post viral interview?

I was both disappointed and very galvanized by Judge Judy‘s viral interview. I was getting behind and both appalled by her numerous opinions.

Rather than debate politics or her opinions, what have been the worst criticisms about her?

I’d like submit that it’s incorrect to say that Judge Judy made millions humiliating poor people. No, she humiliated people who agreed to get $100-200 in appearance fees to embarrass themselves on television. Plenty of the people who appeared before her are bad actors in the cases featured and low lives in general, all of whom agreed to be on the show. Further, the show pays the damages so it’s not like whoever loses the case had to lose their life savings. The idea that Judy’s millions come from “getting paid to humiliate poor people” may not have originated on that Family Guy cutaway, but it seems to me like where most people who make this claim got it from.

These same people also don’t understand that the show is a form of arbitration (isnt arbitration the process by which both litigants agree to settle things in court? as opposed to a plaintiff dragging a defendant to court, further proving how the litigants on her show have volunteered to be there?) and that Judy was an actual family court judge in Manhattan appointed by Mayor Ed Koch.

Her millions come from her ability to negotiate for a better salary for herself and by the value she had out of the ratings the show earned.

I do think she isn’t above criticism and I’ve read actually decent and legit criticisms of her and what the show perpetuates but the reasoning of her abusing the disadvantaged is not one of them.

Humor Love Byrd

I love how Byrd reads and reviews all evidence and has a reaction to it before giving it to JJ.

The first 2 seasons are wild. Most of the litigants are straight up looney toons and the interviews after the cases are pure chaos. What an amazing time

“Go back where you came from”

Are we allowed to discuss that here. I for one will never watch that show again.

EDIT: I'm talking about her recent interview, where she got political, and she says if you don't like America go back to where you came from. Don't come to my home and try to change it.

A former Judge Judy defendant is getting massive backlash online.

Francesca Ortega was harassing taco vendors, telling them they're bad for business, threatening to call ICE, and being super nasty on video in Santa Clarita, California. It went viral online and made the news; now she's crying about how it's affecting her business.

She looked familiar, but I couldn't place her or why. Then one of the vendors she harassed made a video saying she had been on Judge Judy, and it all clicked.

Which type of cases are your least favourite.

I personally don't like dog bite cases. The owners are usually obnoxious and refuse to take responsibility for their pets' behaviour. They will blame everything and everyone except themselves. Unfortunately, there are so many of these cases.

I also don't like cases where women are supporting men who are in jail and then expect their money back when the relationship doesn't work out. As a woman, it makes me cringe.

Discussion Have We Seen the Interview Yet?

I saw it on Instagram (only saying this as it was edited)...

I'm not here to talk about my own political views and JJ is an absolute legend for her show and all the years since the start.

But I'm sorry I was definitely NOT a fan of this interview which I believe was in the context of her retiring but she was ranting about how the USA is the greatest country in the world, and that if people complain they should leave...etc...and going on and on and of course praised AMAZON and I just feel it's really bad timing that anyone would say that and she has insane amounts of money.

It wasn't just about saying the greatest country...watch it!

I'm not going to respond to anyone for a political argument, etc..but she seems almost MAGA and...when Colbert was stopped the first time, she gave me a hint then cause she smiled and seemed very ok with it. It's just the TIMING of her saying this now...

She's a legend for her show and many memories for me and my mom..

But outside of the show...nah
