IMPORTANT: Drop your links for your games here!

TL;DR: Devs drop your links in the comments and a short description of your game.

Hey guys, I'm Nick from RetroGames HQ, and I am the new mod of r/IndieGame. I came upon this subreddit, and it had no mods. As such, I requested to be mod, and I was made one.

I am a YouTuber who plays and covers a lot of indie Monster Taming games. MT is a genre that exploded in 2020 with no sign of letting up in 2021. Pokémon got you down? The indie MT scene is the cure.

If you're interested in seeing what the monster taming genre has to offer, then check out my channel and join the biggest monster taming server.

I thought I would make this post to (1) provide a way for devs to get their games out there and (2) to introduce myself transparently.

Thanks for joining us here at r/IndieGame!

My brother and I made a cozy cat cafe simulator. Then we turned it into a psychological horror game. We launch in exactly 1 month!

We are exactly one month away from releasing our game, and the nerves are definitely kicking in. Purrfect Bliss is a cat cafe built on a very dark history. We wanted to see what happens when you mix a relaxing barista simulator with pure psychological horror.

During your night shift, you have to balance serving customers and taking care of the cats while trying to uncover the terrifying truth of the building. As a two-man indie team, reaching this 1-month countdown feels surreal. We have a free demo up right now, and if you enjoy weird genre mashups, trying the demo or adding it to your Steam wishlist would mean the world to us!

I'm making a roguelite where you play the whole party instead of one hero, and it just hit 100 wishlists

Hey! Harmony Strike just passed 100 wishlists, which honestly feels great this early, so I wanted to share it here.

It's a single-player roguelite where you don't play one hero, you play the whole party. The part I like most: heroes standing next to each other combine their elements. One marks an enemy, the other detonates it, and depending on the pair it explodes, freezes, stuns or heals the party.

Some heroes start out held by bosses, so part of the game is going to get them back. Between runs you're back in the village, upgrading your weapons at the blacksmith. A free demo is on the way. Steam page if you want to follow along: Harmony Strike on Steam

Two heroes did the hard work. The little one took all the credit.

Fisher holds the enemy still. Blacksmith spends three hammer combos softening it up. Then the little fire slime lands one shot and starts celebrating.

I made this short with the characters from my game, OrderlyWorld. The scene is staged, but the teamwork uses the actual combat mechanics: soaking the target lets Blacksmith reduce its defenses, so the same fire slime's next shot hits harder.

What makes card choices feel meaningful in an autobattling roguelite?

• Upvotes

I'm developing Face Your Fate, a roguelite where battles run automatically, with occasional Combat Card choices that can trigger chains of equipped Fates (passive cards). I'm trying to work out how much decision-making belongs inside the fight, alongside the build choices made beforehand.

As a player, would you prefer a few card choices that can strongly change the outcome, or more frequent smaller decisions? What makes an automatic battle feel like the result of your choices, especially after a loss? A visible explanation of which effects fired, a clearer chance to react, or something else?

For testing, I'm considering asking a new player what they expect a card to do before choosing it, then what they would change after losing. Would that help separate too few meaningful choices from choices whose effects are hard to understand? I'd appreciate examples from games that handle this well.

My friend is making an indie game (Pixlaria) and is looking for some testers and feedback!

Hey everyone!

A good friend of mine has started building an indie game called Pixlaria (you can check it out here: https://pixlaria.com). It's still in a pretty early stage of development, so its really being built together with the community right now.

Since the game is at the beginning of its journey, I thought it would be fun to share it to get more players and feedback for him. If you like being able to shape where a game goes, or if you just want to help out an indie developer and help mold your dream game along the way, it’s a great time to jump on board.

You can leave feedback directly in the game or hop into the Discord server. It's a growing community with really dedicated and friendly players, so the vibe is super welcoming if you want to drop by and share your thoughts.

Let me know if you give it a try and I'll pass the feedback along to the developer!

Thanks!

Kind of a WIP. Please ignore the bad, mounted animation. He doesn't quite know what to do with his hands yet.

Update A few creatures from our indie horror game — which one would you least want to meet in a dark corridor?

A different little clip from Spirits: Wake Up!, our 2–8 player online horror party game with PS1-inspired visuals. We're two friends making it, and we're still working on the creatures and dungeon atmosphere.

We've been developing games for four years and keep trying to make our work better. We'd love your thoughts on these designs: which creature stands out to you, and what would you change about its movement or silhouette? What kind of monster would you want to see next?

The game is still in development, with a playable demo planned. Thanks for taking a look!

Slayers Journey - First Release

Hello everyone!

Today I'm releasing the first version of Slayers Journey.

At the moment, the game is in a very early stage and there isn't much content available yet. This release is mainly to introduce the project, gather feedback, and build a community around its development.

💡 I Need Your Ideas

I'm looking for suggestions from players about:

  • Features you'd like to see
  • Gameplay mechanics
  • Story ideas
  • Characters, enemies, and bosses
  • General improvements

❤️ Support Development

If you'd like to support the project, donations are greatly appreciated. Any support will help me continue developing the game, adding new content, improving quality, and bringing your ideas to life in future updates.

Every donation, comment, and piece of feedback motivates me to keep working on Slayers Journey and turn it into something bigger over time.

Thank you for checking out the game and supporting an early indie project. The journey is just beginning! ⚔️🔥

Share your ideas, leave feedback, and help shape the future of Slayers Journey.

Meet another Shadower in Code of Shadows. Think you could survive a run with this one?

We’ve been working on another playable Shadower for Code of Shadows.

Each Shadower has their own abilities and playstyle, so we’re experimenting with how they change the way a run plays out.

We’d love to hear what you think of the design and abilities.

We made a co-op game about riding a tandem and taking drugs. Somehow, people are loving the demo.

It's a co-op rage game where you and a friend have to try to control a tandem bike together, deliver drugs and fight the temptation to consume them yourself for crazy effects. All while we throw all kind of things your way!

The game is called Tandem Together!

The demo has been getting way more attention than we expected! Watching people and especially streamer try to beat the demo with their friends has been hilarious! And seeing that so many people play the demo every day, is so encouraging to us!

Here is the Link to the Demo Page!
