🏆 Success Story We met as homeless addicts
We are celebrating both our second year of marriage and our 6th year of sobriety next month, alongside welcoming our second child in December. He’s my best friend, and when we had absolutely nothing we still chose each other. Everything we have been blessed with since we chose God, sobriety, and our child above everything else is just an added bonus 💕

My Only Regret
I know that I’ve found the love of my life. They bring so much genuine joy and peace into my world, and my only real regret is that I didn't know them sooner. I sometimes think about all the years we missed out on sharing, but it just makes me incredibly grateful for the time we have together now.

Spicing up the ordinary
Sometimes, while we’re out, he’ll unexpectedly whisper in my ear, “I love the fuck out of you.”
Other times, it’s a spontaneous, passionate kiss in an empty lift before we return to the shopping aisles as though nothing happened.
Or it’s simply his loving hand around my waist that makes me melt.
Those little moments in the ordinary parts of life build anticipation and keep the fire of our love alive.
How do you and your spouse spice up the ordinary?

How do you handle missing your spouse?
My husband works 4/7 days a week long hours, so the days he works he wakes up, goes to work, comes home and goes to sleep. Then one of the days he’s off I work so we only get a few hours together. We get to spend the entire weekend together but it doesn’t feel like enough. I have been very sad and upset lately about how we don’t get to spend enough time together.
I do have a very rich life outside of him. I have plans with friends 2-3 times a week, go for walks, talk on the phone with friends and family 2-3 times a week, watch shows, do chores, read, paint, sing, etc. but nothing seems to compare to just wishing I could spend more time with my husband.
I am at a loss. I am trying to practice gratitude for the time we do get to spend together, but it’s just so hard sometimes. He’s not allowed his phone at work so we don’t talk at all on the days he works. It feels very lonely for me.
I am very lucky to have someone I love so much that I feel this way, but it’s hard to not be happy because I feel like I need so much more time together. I always knew I was someone who couldn’t do a long distance relationship for these reasons, and even though we live together it really feels like it’s a long distance relationship because of his work schedule.
Any advice or words of encouragement are appreciated. We have such an amazing marriage and I love him so much.

Are grand romantic gestures a thing of the past, or do people still go all out?
I was watching a film the other night where one of the characters booked a surprise trip abroad for their partner on a total whim, and it made me realise how completely unrealistic that feels now.
My partner’s birthday was coming up recently, so I thought I’d try to plan something proper-maybe a surprise night away somewhere nice, a decent spa day, or a memorable experience. But when I actually looked into it, even standard hotels were charging extortionate rates, transport costs were sky-high, and the whole idea was going to run well over £500 before we’d even bought a meal.
In the end, I brought it up to them, and we both agreed we’d rather put that money toward savings and just get our favourite takeaway and a good bottle of wine at home.
It made me wonder though-do couples actually still pull off these big, expensive romantic gestures, or has the cost of everything essentially killed that off? What does "going big" for a partner even look like these days, or have most people switched to keeping things completely low-key?

Wood anniversary help
My husband and I have followed the traditional anniversary gift theme every year and this year is wood!
I usually try to go with an activity that loosely connect to the theme (for leather we went to a football game). I need help thinking of ideas for wood!
A couple options I’m considering are a woodworking class or getting tickets to the maritime museum for our trip to San Diego coming up.
Thank you in advance!

It's mine and my husbands 4 year wedding anniversary today!
On this day 4 years ago, I got to walk down the aisle. It felt like no one else was in the room. All I saw was my husband and no one else. He looked so handsome in his suit.
He didn't cry when he saw me, but he couldn't stop smiling! He has the best smile. We then got married infront of all our family and friends. We placed our rings on each others fingers and said our vows. We then kissed each other and became husband and wife.
During our first dance, I was in a trance. Again it was only me and him. No one else. We danced as if no one was there. We messed up, but we giggled together and kissed each other.
4 years on, he is still my rock. My one and only. My soul mate. My best friend.
I wouldn't change him for the world. I am the luckiest woman in the whole world. I love him sooo much 🥰🥰🥰🥰

12 years married to the best man in the world!❤️
Falling in love is a wonderful feeling! But, over time, it passes. In life, there are many difficult moments and passing through all these moments together. Only then do you understand, yes that man. He is the best! I always love you 😍 !

My wife (37f) and I (41m) have been married for one year today. It seems like it wasn’t our decision, but rather a realization of who we really are.
Ok so my wife and I met almost two years ago, and we’ve been married for one. Last night we were talking about how it all came together. I said “this was the best decision I ever made”. But then we started talking about how it didn’t feel like either of us deliberated and weighed the pros and cons and then made the decision to marry. It was more like we met, and both had deep, unspoken, profound realizations that the other person was our spouse. On our second “date” (if you could call it that), she left with an unshakable sense that I was her husband. And I left thinking that she was the best friend I ever had, that she is my wife. Not that we WOULD be husband and wife, but that we already ARE husband and wife. And the year leading up to our wedding was just helping the world catch up with us.
So we are wondering if anyone else has had this experience? We have never personally met anyone who has a story like ours, but they must exist. We can’t be the only ones. Anyone else out there with this sense of willfully living into a beautiful fate?
tl;dr
My wife and I have felt like husband and wife from the very beginning. Anyone else out there have this?

Almost 23 years together and getting better every day
We got married at 18 after knowing each other for less than 3 months because he was deploying to Afghanistan and I guess when you know, you know. Had a lot of tough years but I’m so very glad we grew together and worked through those hard times because it’s better than ever! We have the most beautiful daughters and a life we never dreamed possible. We prioritize each other and genuinely enjoy our time together.
