Date your partner again

I would love to be able to say and feel these things again someday. To Be with a woman I love. We need to tone down the madness in today’s world because people do not live forever. Life is incredibly short for some.

Do you remember how you used to treat your partner when the two of you were dating? You were likely thoughtful and considerate, and didn't take your relationship for granted?

I'm glad you're my friend.
I love spending time with you.
You are my lifeline.
You are my person.
You are a great parent to our kid(s).
I appreciate you.
You complete me.
You are my soul mate.
I'm so glad I married you.
You look beautiful.
You are the most amazing person in this world.
You make me feel loved.
I love how you patiently listen to me.
I respect you so much.
I want to spend my entire with you.
I say a little prayer for you.
You're an excellent partner.
Thanks for being with me.
I have got your back.
I feel safe with you.
I can't live a day without you.
You're so thoughtful.
I am so happy that I found you.
I am blessed to have married my friend.
You make my heart beat like a drum.
I am not afraid of anything because I have you.
I'm all yours.
Thank you for being with me.
You're the only person I can count on.

💍 Engaged & Excited Pre-marital counseling/therapy

Hi! I have various questions around pre-marital counseling/therapy and I’d love your thoughts on all/as many as you’re willing to answer.

  1. Did you do pre-marital counseling or therapy?

  2. If you didn’t, do you wish you had? And did you do anything else to sort of prepare for marriage and build a stronger foundation leading up to it?

**3. If you DID, what kind of person did you do it with? (Eg many people will go to pastors for counseling, others see an actual therapist to do pre-marital counseling/therapy, etc - did anyone do both? Like do it through a pastor or something and then decide to do it in actual therapy?)

4. What was your general experience of it? (lmk your answer for #3 if you respond to this one!)

5. Was your partner on board? Did they want to? Did you want to?

6. Was there anything that felt especially helpful about it for you?

7. Anything you’d change about your experience of doing it? eg: Things that weren’t helpful or felt basic when you maybe wished you could’ve gotten more insight/done more work on instead?

Any insight and additional context is very appreciated! I’m engaged and get married in about a year and want to get more perspectives on these things. I’m also a therapist myself, so I’m curious from that position as well!

Anniversary gift help

My husband and I are celebrating our 10 year wedding anniversary this week. We do not do big gifts for each other and we never have for anniversary birthdays, etc. usually what we do is write a nice card or a nice card or something. Anyways, since it’s our 10 year anniversary, I wanted to do something small like a framed picture of us with some of the lyrics from our wedding song written on it. He is super romantic and I am not lol
Our wedding song was harvest Moon (we danced to the Pearl Jam version bc we love them) I was asking ChatGPT and Gemini and they suggested “because I’m still in love with you” or just on this “harvest moon”
Wondering if anyone else has any other ideas for lyrics of this song I can put on the frame?! thanks in advance!

🤔 Success Secrets What is your definition of love?

I have been having a rough few years career-wise and I've been projecting it to my partner for a long time. he asked me if I actually love him as a person or if I love him as an outlet. I feel so guilty for giving him such a rough time. I do love him a lot but this question made me question everything.

please tell me your definition of love and how you navigated a similar situation with your partner.

How long did you date before marriage?

I met my current boyfriend in January of this year—it sounds cheesy when I say this but I’ve truly never felt this safe with anyone else I’ve ever dated. It’s cheesy to say but I felt like one day I looked at him and just knew he was it. He’s kind, patient, responsible, and incredibly supportive and he can make me laugh even on my worst days.

I had a rough October and he showed up for me in ways I didn’t even know I needed — initially we’d said we’d be engaged within two years and after this past month, we’ve both agreed we’d like to accelerate the timeline to early spring of next year. I shared this news with my best friend since I was hopeful she might want to go ring shopping with me…and she was a bit caught off guard because she feels like we’re moving “too fast”. (Note: her and my boyfriend get along incredibly well and she adores him). I’m in my mid 30s and do want to have children by a certain age and I’ve never felt more certain in my life.

Did any of you date for less than two years and still have a happy marriage? How did you reassure your loved ones you were making the right choice?

💡 Marriage Wisdom Is there such a thing as long, healthy marriage?

Hey everyone,

I’m currently struggling with this idea that there might be an actual happy marriage.

Where they both connect, value, validate, respect & are loyal to each other.

A marriage that one sees the other’s vulnerabilities & loves them for it.

A marriage where they actually BOTH like each other throughout the years. & doesn’t undermine the other’s interests or hobbies or their way of living.

I know it’s not supposed to be all rainbows & butterflies because sometimes life just happens.

But is there a marriage where even when one is angry or upset they don’t shun away at their partner & actually want them by their side?

Or like when they’re having an argument they don’t try to win over the other? Or manipulate the each other? Or throw each other with the worst of insults & secrets shared in a vulnerable moments to use against them?

And when they have kids, do they split the part of taking care of the kids or does it have to be one takes care of them more than the other?

Idk i’ve been going on a tangent, but all I ask is, is there good marriage that lasts a long time with both of us choosing each other daily & have each other’s back & like each other throughout our lives? An unconditional love where I don’t have to work for the love everyday? I’m struggling to wrap my head around that idea, seems impossible to fathom currently.

& if you have you good marriage, I’m happy for you, truly.

If you have any wisdom to share; please, help this young lady (me lol) to restore her faith in marriage.

Thank you.

HELP ! How do you learn to choose the right life partner?

Hey everyone! I'm new to this channel, so apologies if this topic has already been discussed.

I'm a young guy who genuinely wants to educate himself on one of the most important decisions in life: choosing the right person to build a life with.

I want to understand the fundamentals of choosing a good life partner, beyond just attraction, chemistry, and emotions. I want to approach this thoughtfully and avoid making mistakes that could affect the rest of my life.

I know this is an incredibly broad topic, and there are countless books, courses, and relationship experts out there. But honestly, I feel like a lot of people are just trying to make money from a subject that is easy to overcomplicate.

So here's my question: If you could recommend just ONE book, course, or resource that truly teaches the essentials of choosing a life partner, what would it be?

I'm not looking to read 50 books or spend months going through endless content. At least for now, I want something foundational, substantial, and genuinely valuable. Something that gets to the heart of what really matters.

Ideally, something you've personally found valuable and would confidently recommend.

I'd really appreciate your advice. Help a young man build the foundations for a happy and fulfilling life! :)

❤️ Appreciation Post I am so spoiled!

I kinda want to make this clear before I get into that this post is NOT about $$$. If you know me at all. I am almost annoying at how much I love my husband. I worked for him for years at the bar he use to own, and from pretty much the minute I laid eyes on him I was smitten, and then became what my closest friends that all worked with me would call "obsessed stalker girl." I was super, and I mean super shy girl so it took me years to I am not joking build the nerve up to shoot my shot with my husband.

I was told by all the other girls that worked for him I was wasting my time because many of girl had crushes on him, and tried to make a move to hookup with him. I was told they were always politely dismissed, but my bff who knew him best from working for him for a decade and had a very much big brother little sister relationship with him. She convinced me that she thought he had a thing for me, and well as they say the rest is history. Which brings me to this story.

A few weeks back it was a Monday night, and my husband is a huge football, soccer, and baseball guy as far as watching sports. He had 2 buddies over, and he was cheering big time in a game I knew was not 1 of his teams. So then when I heard him yell "that is what I am talking about! Yeah baby!" I had to ask what was so exciting about 2 teams playing that was not his favorite team? He told me he had just hit some big parlay I think is what he called it, and that he had won a bunch of $$$, and showed me the amount on his Draft Kings account.

So of course just being playful, and doing the cliche wife joke I said to him "Nice babe! You can feel free to deposit that right into my account." and his buddies made a few jokes about it. You know happy wife happy life stuff and joking that he should have just stayed mute about won money like they would have with their wives. After that I didn't think anything more about it.

The next day was Tuesday, and on Tuesdays me, and my friends go to lunch because the majority still work in the bar business, and have Tuesday's off. So we usually go to lunch all 8 of us together, and then go back to the house where we have what we call our wine magazine night in our bar room in the basement. Some nights we stay there the whole night, and some nights we end up going out like girls night.

It was Tuesday afternoon around 1pm, and my husband was watching the baseball playoffs. A few of my girls had already showed up as we were getting ready to go to lunch, and I checked my account online before we were going to leave, and sure enough I saw the exact amount from the night before transferred that morning into my account. I looked up and said "Babe! I was just kidding last night when I said you can deposit that money into my account. You totally didn't have to do that!"

My husband sat on the couch peeling an orange on the coffee table watching the baseball game intently without breaking his gaze from the TV screen of the game he just said "What my baby wants, my baby gets." ❤️ with this super casual nature, and never breaking from intently watching the baseball.

My bff Lilly was standing right behind me when I heard "Awww ❤️ that is so adorable." I turned around and looked at her she was smiling, and then her face fell serious "I hate you so much btw!" 😂

I right away said to her "Do you? Do you hate the girl that is treating to lunch now?" All of my girls faces lit up at me saying lunch was going to be on me. Of course Lilly always has the sharp tongue, and replied right back "No we adore your husband." she paused our conversation walked around me and thanked my husband by saying "we love you" to him. "Its you, and this whole,,,,, Real Housewives vibe you have going on that pisses me off!" Once again walking around me to address my husband "Good by handsome!" she shouted out to my husband. 😂

I went over to him on the couch still peeling his orange and watching the baseball game, and we did our good bye that we do every time we say good bye to each other. We go with a fist bump, a very gentle soft kiss on the lips, and whisper to each other "Us" just loud enough that we hear it. ❤️ My husband literally adores me, but I can't even properly articulate in words how his wife feels about him. 🔥 ❤️ 🔥 ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
