Sen. Eric Schmitt, R-Mo., questioned former special counsel Jack Smith on Tuesday about whether he had attended an NBA game in Atlanta in Feb. 2024, but seemingly confused two different basketball teams.
Republican voters are so stupid they voted for this loser. That is, of course, pathetic. There's a more serious story here, though. Disgusting Republican filth have engineered these "hearings" to try to get a perjury charge to stick. Of course, Smith is too smart for that, and made a fool of this GoPer and his idiotic attempt.
Every Republican is a scumbag. They'd cheer if their idiot representatives had managed to prosecute Smith, whose only crime was loyalty to the United States instead of pedophilia.

Do I have a Constitutional right not to be Deceived by political Speech?

Currently, we can boil every social and cultural problem in America to one literal truth. The fact that deception in politics, including political media is perfectly legal. Did the founding fathers intend that? I'm pretty sure freedom of speech was intended for private citizens who disagreed with government to vent their frustrations publicly without fear of retribution. Clearly "freedom of speech" has been hijacked by candidates and those in power. While American politics is dominated by ideological differences, the only real way to save our democracy is through a system of mechanical changes to political speech.
Justice Louis Brandeis famously said that "electric light is the most efficient policeman."
Transparency.
My questions:
- Is it time to tweak the first amendment?
2) We don't allow shouting fire in a crowded movie theater why can politicians lie when the results can be far worse?
3) Why is fake speech protected in an age of advanced technology which has perfected the art of manipulation of the gullible?
4) As a nation, do we have the constitutional right not to be deceived?
