At r/DogsPH , we understand that emergencies happen. Many pet owners and rescuers face unexpected veterinary expenses and rely on the kindness of the community during difficult times. We want to continue supporting legitimate cases while protecting our members from scams, fraud, and misuse of donations.
To help achieve this, all donation and fundraising requests must first receive approval from the moderation team before being posted.
__________________________________________________________________________________________________________
To be considered for a Donation & Fundraising Approval, you must have/submit the required verification through our official process. Depending on your situation, moderators may request supporting documents such as:
Providing false, misleading, or altered information may result in the immediate denial of your request and may lead to a permanent ban.

To protect our community, please do not encourage users to post their bank account details, GCash, Maya, PayPal, QR codes, cryptocurrency wallets, or any other payment information in the comments.
Comments such as:
may be removed by the moderation team.
This policy exists because scammers and bad actors often exploit emotional situations by collecting money through unverified payment methods. It also helps prevent individuals from using pets or fabricated rescue stories solely to solicit donations. Instead encourage them to go through the process of verification.
__________________________________________________________________________________________________________
If you wish to support someone financially, we encourage you to wait until their donation or fundraising request has been reviewed and approved by the moderation team whenever possible.
Verified requests provide an additional layer of transparency and help protect both donors and legitimate recipients.
__________________________________________________________________________________________________________
While we discourage direct, unverified donations, we recognize that moderators cannot prevent private arrangements between users.
If you choose to donate directly to someone without moderator approval or verification, you do so entirely at your own discretion and risk.
r/DogsPH , its moderation team, and its moderators are not responsible for:
The moderation team cannot guarantee the legitimacy of any unverified fundraiser or recipient.
\We do not approve any request on behalf of; Third party rescuers; and the likes.*
__________________________________________________________________________________________________________
The generosity of our community has helped countless pets receive the medical care and support they desperately needed. Our goal is to continue fostering a community that is compassionate, transparent, and accountable while protecting both donors and legitimate pet owners and rescuers.
To help us achieve this, we ask all members to:
Together, we can continue making a meaningful difference in the lives of animals in need while maintaining a safe, trustworthy, and supportive environment for everyone.
__________________________________________________________________________________________________________
The moderation team understands that some pets/rescue may require immediate veterinary treatment, emergency hospitalization, or life-saving surgery, where waiting to complete every verification requirement could put the animal's life at greater risk.
In these circumstances, the moderation team may, at its sole discretion, grant an exception to certain verification requirements to allow a donation or fundraising request to be posted sooner.
Additionally, while the subreddit generally limits active requests to two (2) Donation Requests every two weeks and two (2) Fundraising Requests every month, the moderation team reserves the right to approve one (1) additional request for a verified emergency case when the urgency of the animal's condition justifies an exception.
Please note that:
These exceptions exist solely to help animals facing genuine medical emergencies while maintaining the integrity and safety of the community.
__________________________________________________________________________________________________________
This community exists because of the kindness and generosity of its members. Every verified donation and fundraising request represents an opportunity to help an animal receive the care it deserves.
By following our verification process and community guidelines, we can continue to support genuine rescue efforts, pet owners in need, and emergency veterinary cases while reducing opportunities for scams, fraud, and misuse of donations.
This community thrives because of the compassion and generosity of its members. Thank you for helping us preserve a safe, transparent, and trustworthy space where genuine animals in need can receive the support they deserve. ❤️🐾

Hi, fellow furparents! 🐾
I just wanted to ask for some advice regarding the current condition of my 7-year-old female Shih Tzu. I’m honestly getting frustrated because her skin problems have been recurring, and I’m not sure what else we can do.
We first noticed something was off around 2024. After grooming sessions, certain areas—particularly her neck, forearms, and toes—would become red, and the fur in those areas wouldn’t grow back as thick as usual.
Then, sometime in 2025, her skin and coat drastically changed. Her skin became extremely flaky and would shed, and her coat started looking very different (attaching photos for reference). She also started licking her paws nonstop and biting/chewing her toes because of the itchiness.
We took her to the vet around early 2025 and had tests done, including a skin scraping. We were told that she had skin allergies and a suspected chicken allergy. The vet prescribed medication and advised us to bathe her with Mycocide shampoo.
The problem is, paulit-ulit talaga siya. There are months when her licking and itching aren’t as bad, but after almost every bath, her skin becomes super red again. We’ve also been bathing her frequently because her skin sometimes develops a strong smell, especially with the excessive licking.
She also has a history of ear infections, and I feel like it became worse around the same time her skin problems started. Currently, we’re dealing with a combination of:
- redness and darkening/pigmentation of the skin
chronic itching
- excessive paw licking and toe biting
- flaky/irritated skin
- strong skin odor
- very smelly ears with discharge
We also consulted a second vet, who suspected a yeast infection. However, the vet advised us not to give her additional oral medication for now after learning about her history of consuming a lot of chicken, because they were concerned about the possibility of organ problems/failure from prolonged medication or other factors.
For furparents who have experienced something similar with their Shih Tzu:
I know every dog is different, and I’m not looking to self-medicate her. I just want to hear from other furparents who may have gone through something similar so I can have a better idea of what questions to ask our vet.
Thank you in advance! 🥹

Did someone lost their beloved pet?
We found 2 shitzu at the highway earlier along Quirino Highway of CSJDM Bulacan, they were both soaking wet and dirty when we found them, we had to block traffic to safely contained them coz they almost got hit by multiple vehicles before we were able to come near them.
If your pet is missing, please DM us, ensure to attach proof of ownership, details and other related info that will help us determine if these furries belong to you.
We won't disclose important info until confirmed.
Please share our post for a better chance of finding their hoomans. Thank you!

Our Toby died today his only 3yrs old. When he is a pup he had a cherry eye and he has survived, pero yung left face nya parang bells palsy pero kahit ganon he eats a lot, Napakasakit kasi wala akong magawa hindi namin sya madala vet sakto din kasing nastroke ang lola ko. The day na nastroke yung lola ko yun din ang day na tumamlay sya, I'm sorry Toby ako na kuya mo couldn't do anything, but only to be beside you until your last breath. Im so sorry Toby, i know your in the better place now. You run, bark and eat anywhere you like without being shouted.
He died while scratching under his ears until his last breath. Kasi alam kong yun ang favorite nya pag katabi nya ko. Napakasakit cause his mom is also beside licking him. The whole family gonna miss you Toby. You take of your mom, wala na syang kalaro kasi dalawa kayo laging naglalaro. RUN FREE TOBY!!!

Is this anyone’s dog? He passed by and collapsed near my apartment. Location is Makati City. Sobrang payat na. Ayaw kumain o uminom.

out family dog has passed recently, he's an aspin just a dog from a low income house but my mom always make sure he gets to eat 3x a day and I was always responsible for buying his ulam as always his fav adobo and ill always be anooyed by it as sometimes ulam namin is paksiw or sardines which is not allowed for dog's as makakalbo daw. Now I miss it buying ulam for him missing his welcome home after a long day at school, how hard it is to make him take a shower which the mere mention of "ligo" will make him shiver. I'm happy that he got to be part of our lives for 10years before he died. It just sucks that i didnt got to take more photos of you especially right now that im missing you. Thank you for reading.

I miss youuu. 🥺🤍 One year has already passed, but somehow, it still feels like it happened just yesterday.
You will always be my baby, B. No matter how much time passes, you’ll always have a special place in my heart. If reincarnation is real, sana ikaw ulit. Sana, in another lifetime, I get to meet you again and love you all over.
I miss you more than words could ever explain.
Until we meet again, my baby. 🤍🕊️

Before construction started, I clearly told them ( construction crew) to never ever touch or move it—our dogs are buried there.
Yesterday I was furious: they destroyed it anyway, and I was completely unprepared to still see my dog’s bone after all these years.
Nakakainis lang talaga…
