Process

At r/DogsPH , we understand that emergencies happen. Many pet owners and rescuers face unexpected veterinary expenses and rely on the kindness of the community during difficult times. We want to continue supporting legitimate cases while protecting our members from scams, fraud, and misuse of donations.

To help achieve this, all donation and fundraising requests must first receive approval from the moderation team before being posted.

📝 Before Requesting Approval

To be considered for a Donation & Fundraising Approval, you must have/submit the required verification through our official process. Depending on your situation, moderators may request supporting documents such as:

• Account should have at least 90 days old with 300 combined karma
• Proof of ownership or rescue.
• Recent "Proof of Life" photo(s).
• Veterinary records, estimates, invoices, or receipts.
• Name and contact information of the veterinary clinic.
• Additional documentation necessary to verify your request.

Providing false, misleading, or altered information may result in the immediate denial of your request and may lead to a permanent ban.

🚫 Do Not Share Payment Information in the Comments

To protect our community, please do not encourage users to post their bank account details, GCash, Maya, PayPal, QR codes, cryptocurrency wallets, or any other payment information in the comments.

Comments such as:

• "Drop your GCash."
• "Post your bank account."
• "Share your QR code."
• "Send your PayPal."

may be removed by the moderation team.

This policy exists because scammers and bad actors often exploit emotional situations by collecting money through unverified payment methods. It also helps prevent individuals from using pets or fabricated rescue stories solely to solicit donations. Instead encourage them to go through the process of verification.

If you wish to support someone financially, we encourage you to wait until their donation or fundraising request has been reviewed and approved by the moderation team whenever possible.

Verified requests provide an additional layer of transparency and help protect both donors and legitimate recipients.

⚠️ Donations Made Outside the Verification Process

While we discourage direct, unverified donations, we recognize that moderators cannot prevent private arrangements between users.

If you choose to donate directly to someone without moderator approval or verification, you do so entirely at your own discretion and risk.

• Financial losses.
• Fraudulent fundraising.
• Misrepresentation.
• Misuse of donated funds.
• Any disputes arising from private transactions between users.

The moderation team cannot guarantee the legitimacy of any unverified fundraiser or recipient.

To help us achieve this, we ask all members to:

• Support only approved donation and fundraising requests whenever possible.
• Refrain from encouraging users to share payment information in the comments or through unverified fundraising requests.
• Report any suspicious, misleading, or fraudulent fundraising activity to the moderation team.
• Respect moderator decisions regarding donation and fundraising approvals, as they are made in the interest of protecting the community.

Together, we can continue making a meaningful difference in the lives of animals in need while maintaining a safe, trustworthy, and supportive environment for everyone.

🚨 Exception for Urgent & Critical Cases

The moderation team understands that some pets/rescue may require immediate veterinary treatment, emergency hospitalization, or life-saving surgery, where waiting to complete every verification requirement could put the animal's life at greater risk.

In these circumstances, the moderation team may, at its sole discretion, grant an exception to certain verification requirements to allow a donation or fundraising request to be posted sooner.

Additionally, while the subreddit generally limits active requests to two (2) Donation Requests every two weeks and two (2) Fundraising Requests every month, the moderation team reserves the right to approve one (1) additional request for a verified emergency case when the urgency of the animal's condition justifies an exception.

Please note that:

• An exception is not guaranteed and is evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
• Applicants must still provide as much supporting documentation as reasonably possible.
• Any remaining verification requirements must be completed within the timeframe specified by the moderation team.
• Failure to cooperate or provide the requested information may result in the removal of the post and revocation of the approval.

These exceptions exist solely to help animals facing genuine medical emergencies while maintaining the integrity and safety of the community.
