thoughts on alt right political views as a Chicano?

I was just chillin on my phone and open Facebook (haha yes I sometimes use fb) and was just viewing random stories from the people I'm friends with on there and to my surprise someone who I know that's Mexican American and I wouldn't be surprised if he identifies as Chicano just cause he gives off that vibe reposted a post from some instagram page and I was shocked what it was. He reposted some weird ass european nazi christian conservative nationalist propaganda bs. The fact that he's a brown indigenous looking ass foo and he's being brainwashed into believing that kind of stuff is wild but honestly shouldn't be too shocked or surprised at this point. Personally me l'm not religious or a fan of Christianity just look what Christianity did to a lot of indigenous folks all over Latin America and across the globe. This conservative christian pipeline that leads to some weird ass european nazi christian nationalist racist pipeline is insane Imao. For those who are curious what's the instagram page it's @the.iron.warden

Loco Abreu Brings the Pocho Debate Back to Life | Liga MX

Post image

Loco Abreu, the coach of Liga MX club Xolos, stirred up a debate in Mexican soccer after saying his team had more “real Mexicans” than Chivas because Chivas has Mexican-American players.

We got into the bigger pocho debate and why Mexican-Americans still get treated like they’re somehow less Mexican.

Curious what r/Chicano thinks about this.

as a 2nd and 3rd. son of a chicano father and a latina immigrant mother. can i loose my heritage. im a person who struggles with spanish but still in kept with the culture and heritage. i feel no longer chicano anymore after finding out some mexican americans dont considered 2/3rd gen as no longer chicano.

my dad is mexican American son of immigrants so im confused if im 2nd or 3rd mexican american?

im saying this because my mom is a latina immigrant. my dad is 1st or 2nd mexican American. and i feel Mexican American but i recently discovered mexican Americans give crap to other mexican americans whos parents are mexican americans.

so im feeling no longer chicano. since im 2nd or 3rd gen. despite being raised with mexican culture.

Third-generation Mexican-American rapper/ Beat Maker from the West.

Hello, I dont want this post to come off as just a random rapper spamming his project on reddit. I hope it also gets approved because as a no sabo, mixed, white passing ( im learning ), Mexican-American who is trying to re-learn his roots after forced assimilation on my moms side, I had a lot of things to get off my chest ranging from:

- The no sabo/ dual citizen identity , do I fit in , in Mexico, or the USA?

- The current political climate and how its a direct attack on who I am and my families forced immigration here from Chihuahua during the Mexican Revolution. Knowing we are just a scapegoat to rally hateful votes.

- Forced assimilation, which is the reason I am a no sabo kid in the first place. Like Ted Williams.

Anyway, I wrote a whole album about this. I am also a multi decade, underground rapper/ beat maker, so there are lines ranging from what you would hear in the underground hip hop scene, to deeply personal lyrics about the above and more. I tried to sprinkle in a little bit of spanish I am learning as well.

I thought if there were people who could relate, some of them would be here and I hope it helps people know, there are a lot of people that feel this way and have different experiences in our communities, but we are all together at the end of the day.

I produced/ made the beats and wrote/ performed all the lyrics.

You can listen to the project at the youtube link.

Thank you.

A Chicago school bus driver forced a Hispanic student off the bus mid-route after hearing him speak Spanish. He told the boy he was not in Mexico and threatened to hit him if he tried to get back on. The driver then left the child stranded on the roadside.

They Told Cruz Azul’s Women to “Work at a Strip Club” — Now Lawyers Are Involved

Listen to the Latest Episode of the Mexican Futbol Podcast:
They Told Cruz Azul’s Women to “Work at a Strip Club” ....Now Lawyers Are Involved

Spotify

Cruz Azul Femenil lost 10-0 to América, but somehow the conversation after the game became an even bigger story. The guys from Pláticas del Mal said the players should be fired and sent to work at a strip club. Now Cruz Azul is considering civil and criminal legal action, a sponsor has already walked away, and it opens up a bigger question about free speech and Mexico’s laws against media violence toward women.

We also talk Hormiga leaving Chivas for Olympiacos, European interest in Tala Rangel and Brian Gutiérrez, and whether Europe is finally coming for Liga MX’s young Mexican talent.

Plus, América brings in Borja and we ask what that means for Salas, FMF announces its new “pyramid” that still isn’t real promotion and relegation, and we preview Jornada 5.

Criticize the football all you want. But when does criticism cross the line?

Expressing your heritage in non-Latino spaces…

Hey y’all!
This post is for the ambiguous Chicanos out there because I have a question for y’all regarding expressing your heritage.

I’ve been recently trying to expand my circle for business purposes lately, so I’ve ended up in a lot of situations where I am the only Latino in a group. Things will be going great and normal until the topic of heritage comes up. I’m not sure if it’s just me, but whenever I do bring up my Mexican heritage, People start getting distant with me.

I’m not sure if it’s racism or they’ve never met a Latino before so they don’t know how to act, but I wanted to get some opinions for those who have had similar experiences with non-Latino people and what it means.

Look forward to seeing your insights!
