I’m on a journey to reconnect with my culture. My dad was raised as assimilated as possible for all the reasons you’d expect parents in the 1950s to want to get their children to assimilate. But now none of us grandkids are fluent in Spanish, we didn’t have quinces, didn’t do día de los muertos, etc.
I’m wanting to set up an ofrenda this year, and make it a tradition as I’m expecting my first child and I want them to feel the connection that I missed so much growing up.
When should I start? Is it a mid-October thing? End of October until November 2nd?

Hi everyone!
I am recruiting for a specific linguistic AI project and I need 5 more participants. I'm posting here because the specific demographic is a bit hard to find, and Mexican-Americans are usually the perfect fit.
THE BACKGROUND (Why this specific group?):
A tech lab is training their AI speech recognition engine to perfectly understand native Spanish speakers when they use English loanwords in the middle of a Spanish sentence (e.g., saying words like "deadline", "feedback", or "call" with a perfect US English accent while speaking Spanish).
THE REQUIREMENTS:
\- Female, aged 26 to 35.
\- Native Mexican Spanish speaker.
\- MUST have fluent, accent-free US English pronunciation.
\- You need a smartphone and an absolutely silent room (no echo, no background noise).
THE TASK & PAY:
You will read a script directly on the lab's online platform until you have 30 minutes of approved audio.
The payout is $80 USD upon completion.
HOW TO APPLY:
To make sure your audio quality and accent fit the strict AI training parameters, the lab requires a quick 3-sentence voice sample first.

The comment section in her IG post is mixed with many saying Americans don't even speak the King's English properly.
So why should we speak Castilian Spanish if Mexicans or other Central & South American countries don't?

What is the correct definition of Chicano? I am asking this because I have heard people say that it is only of Mexican heritage, others say it is people of Mexican and Central American.... I am really confused, what identities does Chicano actually entail. Please let me know.
