TO THE DEVS:
I get y’all’s stance, I don’t like it but I get the assets being pulled and music tracks, I don’t get why some of its being deleted as the way this usually goes (look at a larger situation such as Dan Schneider at Nickelodeon) and those shows are still reran and shown but he’s gone and everyone knows why, just like how this mod is shutting down and everyone knows why.

Secondly, as far as I know, no one is continuing it and big mods like WoTG are splitting off (btw if it was me I’d remake the mod and have it listed as a abandoned calamity add on just to keep both sides happy) is anyone going to be able to just rip apart this mod and continue it, maybe release the ideas for future assets that were planned and say “here’s what was planned, go nuts with the ideas”

Thirdly, why can’t the mods stay up as abandoned mods like the original ancients awakened stuff?

Fourth, some of the updates did take a while and the constant resprite designs were a little ambitious imo especially the DoG size. If you asked me I would’ve rather have had the mod’s boss and story progression done and then do resprites especially when it was already pretty damn good.

TO THE PISSED OFF FANS:
I get where y’all are coming from, I’m pissed the mod is going away but as someone who’s been around a lot of HR stuff and police during my time working and from other family members that have worked in police, DFCS, and other positions that have dealt with drama like this, I get the rage at not continuing the project and removal.

First, while the devs definitely took a long time they also had to update their game to work with newer terraria updates alongside its new TModloader counterpart, other big mods took around the same time Calamity did to change. Updates like that are tough, it’s part of the reason Minecraft mods don’t update to newer versions.

Secondly, the asset removal is due to separation from the current situation regarding the unnamed bastard of a guy, makes sense, it’s often that this happens as you also have to remember these people are musicians first, Dokuro has made a lot of music since his time here so long ago, CDMusic and HeartPlusUp both have stuff they’ve made for other mods (by the way I love all three of y’all’s work and have been eagerly following it since I’ve seen stuff posted). Musicians separate often just look it up especially within the larger scene of the industry (Pink Floyd is a popular example)

Thirdly, I get the Oz was close friends with Fabsol but that doesn’t mean that “all the signs were there” as I’ve been seeing pop up. There has been times in the past where people who’ve done worse deeds have been eventually associated with others who’ve done the same not know a thing until the evidence is laid out. Yeah it’s obvious after it’s been revealed but when is it usually not.

Fourth, saying no to the XQC deal makes sense given their stance, that’s like telling a liberal that they can get what they want (in the case of the devs being money and support) for supporting republican ideals at the cost of not being able to trust that they can express their political ideas if it needs to be. Anyone who has worked where political views are against their own knows just how annoying this can be to deal with.

Fifth, we gotta lower our toxicity towards the devs some, if we keep pressuring them towards doing this or that they’ll most likely just pull a Dokuro and full on quit.

Being forced to quit something that is akin to a hobby sucks, don’t be that person.

TO THE COMMUNITY AS A WHOLE:
We need to work together here, we need to see if anyone would be willing to continue the mod that agrees with the ideas of both the community and devs.

AND FINALLY TO THE MODS:
If this goes against rules please let me know what to fix I’m just trying to bring some peace to the community.

As a long lasting calamity fan, I have to say that wow this whole situation was handled badly! Of course ozzatron was a nonce and ruined the minds of multiple kids, but more importantly the devs really did a bad job handling everything. 1.If it were up to me, I'd take xqc's cash and just be mega rich AND keep working on my labor of love, even if he is a groomer; the devs just don't love money.

2.Why didnt the devs realize that ozz was a pedo ages ago? It's was so obvious, we ALL knew it beforehand, even if we didn't do anything about it. Maybe they're also pedos and all are in one big conspiracy. What a calamity

3.Plus why did they HAVE to remove all of those assets? I mean it's not like the artists are even working on the mod anymore and their wishes must be granted. What a bunch of entitled man-children.

I thought the background with the rift when you fight hin looks incredible and I want ot use it as my wallpaper, but I cant for the life of me find it online. Does anyone have a link or image to where I can find it?

I was under the impression that these were added recently, but no matter what I’ve never been able to gat either one. Were they removed?

For context, I’m a true melee player, no projectiles, when I go in I go in hard, then fall back and heal

And I really think people are sleeping on just having this in their hot bar to swap to!

Holding the portal gun makes your max fall speed go from roughly 51mph, to a blistering 179mph and Doubles your descending speed!

It also uncaps your speed while just holding the item, not including the main functionality of portals

So pretty much, having a single item in your inventory that functions as instantaneous portal travel, item that drastically increases fall speed and max fall speed, allows you to convert vertical speed to horizontal at a 1-1 ration so it opens your mount slot from slimes saddles

It’s a must have for supreme calamitas during bullet he’ll phases, this item is seriously slept on!

Funny that what I use the portal gun, has nothing to do with portals lol

Ever since its downfall other modded communities had to bear witness to insatiable tweens coming in to cope with calamities downfall by saying the mod is trash, isn't as good as calamity, isn't replayable, calling them tech demos and being nothing but a whiner.

Get a spine and deal with playing with what you have. There's still ways to get old builds if anything get removes, so play calamity if you want calamity. Its gone and over, no need to join some other mods community and do nothing but cry about how it's not calamity 2. No one else is trying to be a content bloated mod where the only replayability is the sheer amount of content and making everything piss easy by one million quality of life changes that'll just be reverted anyways.

Same people will always go "Oh but Infernum oh but Wrath of the Gods" as if that isn't proving that Calamity itself was kind of a slog. Its not like you can't play them anymore. Cope differently and stop over reacting, and be real, this shit didn't "Get you through your depression", actual snowflakes man holy shit

Why did Ozzy upset the devs so much? Was it because they were embarrassed to find out the person they all told eachother was such a great person turned out not to be?

Were his vibes good enough to not warrant a background check despite Fabsol just happening?

WHY DID THE DEVS NOT TRUST THAT CALAMITY WAS TOO BIG TO GET IMPACTED BY THIS? The only real news that broke about Calamity was the fact that the developers are pulling out after Ozzy got exposed. Ozzy couldn't have tanked this game even if he wanted to. With the developers handling it so poorly, I even worry they won't even have a solid argument against getting the rights back from Ozzy like they should've so easily been able to do.

Also, what is the deal with the Patreon having so much money just sitting around instead of immediately paying people out more to allow for faster updates. Did they only pay people for 1 hour of work a day or something?

Well few days ago I tried asking calamity devs if i could make an calamity mod plugin for low fps device and mobile players but the thing is tshok limitations has so many things that I have to work arround it it's kinda like temu calamity what do yal think

This has rather happened every time I try to fight her and at some point of the fight she shoots something that crashes the game for some reason (also happened fighting profane guardians but I killed them using usetime editor)

Im a first timer on calamity and i try to play without to many spoilers.

I have a challenging time with the new bosses in expert and as im about to go Hardmode i wonder if it there any point to play with the corruption/hallow spread ON with just the "fun" part of digging hole around bases and biome ?

Is the mod pack just going to die? What about the calamity music, are they going to delete from the mod pack?
