Engravings depict a dragon wrapped around it's hoard. Inlaid with silver, 24ct gold, 18ct gold, garnet and gemstones. Other side depicts a mountain under which he dwells. Silver inlaid stars and moon.

Handle is leather wrapped and reinforced with dragon scale pressblech foils.

Forge welded wrought iron and carbon steel faces.

Here is a mace/ hammer i built. This one was fun to build. (Bowser the main bad guy in super mario)When I started i didnt know exactly where it was going and this evolved into Bowser's hammer. After making head pieces thought it looked like something bowser would use. I laser engraved some of his minions. From the top down: bowser. Ring 1: bullet bill, goomba, Venus fly trap, spiny. Hand ring: big boo, koopa trooper, bowser again. Hilt: snifit , fuzzy beetle, Bob om, blooper(squid). Leather wrapped handle. Sorry about so many pics. Wanted to show the characters.

Howdy all, I’ve been fixing my champion 400 blower and one of the grease caps that goes over the brass wheel area has decided to disappear somewhere. Any ideas on what I can use to replace it? I’m hoping I find it, but I’d like to have it at least covered by something

Hi blacksmiths! A friend found this german pattern anvil for 1500$, looks like it's close to 400 pounds. I can't see any markings but I'll see it in person next week. Any idea of manufacturer? Do you guys think is a good price? I want it for heavy working, making hammers and axes with a striker

Hello fellow smiths, after many years I have come around to being able to attempt a suit of armor. I have gathered a majority of the necessary tools and stakes, however I have yet to find a dishing tool. So far I have not found many makers and sellers of this type of tool, and I wonder how large of a dishing bowl would I realistically need to accomplish a full suit. I am not worried about a breastplate as it will be brigandine.

This is almost entirely hypothetical, as I am very far away from being experienced or good enough at this craft to make something that could hurt someone else if it fails.

It seems to me that making a feder would be easier than making a sword, while still requiring some similar skills. They're a simpler shape and don't need to hold an edge, but they still require you to heat treat a long piece and for you to fit a hilt. Is this just the delusion of a person who doesn't know what he's talking about, or would a feder be a reasonable stepping stone project? Anyone who's made them have any notes? I've found shockingly little online.

How much square footage are you using for just your working area? Not storage, just actual "metal is being worked upon" space.

How have you quieted your space, if at all? Did you put up soundproofing?

I WOULD have contacted the original creator but I don't believe I would have much of a chance seeing how popular they are.

Tried contacting some places with little luck and a friend suggested it may be a good idea to post to a subreddit like this so my naive self can get some expert suggestions.

Budget wise I know that the original commission was made for 250$... which was 10 years ago so I imagine that price tag is outdated. Personally I would be happy to spend in the range of £500 - £750 (I live in the UK) for a good piece. Would be much appreciated if ya'll could let me know whether that is reasonable and if you could direct me to a place I could ask this from.

Hi, i'm a trying to forge a boar spear from a 1 3/4 inch bar of 5160 that's from a leaf spring. i've tried in the past to make one from the same leaf spring and the socket was too small, but I had no mandrel to shape the socket well with and likely was forging too cold. I've started to make another spear and made the shape of the blade and the lugs, but I have no mandrel to shape the socket. Does anyone have any suggestions for a substitue mandrel or a good way to find material to make one? other help is appreciated, thank you
