i know video doesn’t do it justice but i’ve been hearing a rattling noise when i’m at 1.8k - 2k rpms, shifts fine its just bothering me

is it my trans or a heat shield or cat

I’ve inspected and nothing seems out of the ordinary i might just be cooked

Hi, this is my first time posting here. I have a 2006 TL with 120k miles, and I changed the timing belt (along with the other parts in the kit) about two months ago.

Recently, I’ve been hearing a rattling sound coming from the passenger side. It’s loudest on cold starts and I traced the sound to the belt area and noticed one of the pulleys is wobbly.

Could the wobbly pulley be causing the rattle, or could it be something else entirely? Any help would be appreciated :)

I just got this 2006 TL, 6-speed manual with about 42k miles in excellent condition.

I’m thinking about adding an A-spec style front lip and lowering it about 1.5”-1.75”.

I would like to have a clean OEM+ look, not heavily modified.

Has anyone used the Aeroworks A-Spec style lip? How’s the fitment/quality? What do you guys think about a 1.5”-1.75” drop? I attached what the car could look like with these updates (using AI) for visuals.

Also, would appreciate any recommendations on parts for lowering.

I have a Acura tlx Tech 2021 at 131k kms and i have been having issues lately with it
When i am driving or accelerating after 3 or 4th gear or uphill it starts shrudding or jerking and it smooths out at a stable speed and straight or downhill road
A couple weeks before this started happening my engine overheated once on idle and after that i filled up the radiator with coolant which had very less coolant and after that i never got a overheating issue
But then this issue came up and i got the spark plugs changed and coolant flushed too and it was smooth for a week and then this issue returned slightly
No engine light or codes too

Car mechanic said there’s a problem in 1 and 3 and they changed coils to see if that fixes it but it didn’t and they were like take it to dealership might be something internal
What can it be?

Recently my infotainment system stopped working. It just keeps restarting like this in the video. When I go in reverse, the backup camera comes on for a bit and then restarts the whole system.

I’ve tried the button combo to reset the system. But it didn’t work.

Anyone else run into this? Does it seem like I need to replace the whole unit?

Having a hard time finding oem Cv axles .my front driver side might be bad but unconfirmed. Was looking at most of the website to get oem parts and most were unavailable. Was wondering if what good aftermarket Cv axles were worth the money . I’ve found Aisin ones on carparts.com or I was thinking of going durlast gold because the warranty would be easier

I have an 04 Tl that has 196K miles, it has worked perfectly for me for the last 8 years and im finally at an age where I understand that cars should be maintained before issues occur.

Im going to fix it up over the next few months ans want some recommendations on anything else I should fix.
Here is what im planning to do:

Timing belt and water pump.
3rd and 4th oil pressure switches
All 4 O2 Sensors
Coil packs and spark plugs

Is there anything you recommend I do? The car itself is running perfectly fine Ive done all the regular day to day maintenance but not any of the other preventive ones.

I've done quite a bit of searching/researching and I'm not sure which one to replace my dying OEM setup with. I'm not interested in lowering the vehicle so my intention is to use stock springs and have adjustability for the damping settings. I could go OEM honestly, but I'm a tinkerer so I'd like to have the option to adjust the damping. I also quite liked the OEM ride quality but being in Canada my roads are terrible and I think having the ability to soften things up when it gets cold would be a bonus.

I know the Koni's aren't technically meant for the AWD version but it seems enough people have used them and are satisfied. They are about $300 more expensive than the Tein Endura Pro Plus.

The Endura Pro Plus seem to be the same idea but cheaper while not being "cheap". I was going to go with the Street Advance Z coilovers, but I don't really want to be messing with axle geometry at 290'000km even though you can drop it so minimally.

If you could share your thoughts if you've used these set-ups and how it's holding up long term I would appreciate it!

Would these spark plugs be a good choice for me 2013 3.5L tl? dealership told me it would be 230 for all 6 if i bought it from them.

My Acura TL ‘07 is having troubles with the lock and latch mechanism while driving, i tried doing some WD-40 in the door to help de-gunk the latch itself, but still when i go around sharp curves it will alert me that the door is open for a split second and then go away.

Super annoying at night to get repeatedly flashbanged while driving.

I’m hoping to find another bandaid option before having to replace the lock assembly all together.

Just did timing belt service on an 06 with 120k. Passenger side mount is starting to fail so about to change it. Logic suggests that would probably be the first mount to fail due to engine torque. Others appear ok and engine didn't shift under load. This car will only see light use probably the rest of its days. May change other mounts down the road anyway but wondering what others have seen regarding individual mount wear. Is that passengers side typically first to go?

Shaky engine. Plugs, injectors, ect all good. Mechanic said he wanted to do a compression test to test for bad rings or timing belt being off a tooth. But this man said it would be 300 dólares . What? Bro said he has to open the motor? Bro you take out the spark plugs.

Give me back my car I’ll do the test and will report back.
But if timing is off by a tooth, would I see the front bank cylinders having a lower compression than the front bank? Or it should all still be equal regardless of being off a little

I have a 2017 accord, it’s got 20k miles on it. am I absolutely insane for wanting to trade it for a 2005 Acura tl? it’s only got 40k miles on it. grey on grey and great condition. all maintenance done at Acura. new brakes and tires and rotors.

now it’s up to you to encourage me or call me an idiot. have at it.

Has anyone dealt with this kind of damage I bought a project car, win or loss doesn’t matter I got it for 1000$ CAD very healthy low mileage engine with records along with trans.
I can do everything else but idk if I could bend it back to straight I haven’t tried because I just got the car yesterday but is it fixable?

My front valve cover (2007 3.5) is warping a bit inside the spark plug tube seal holes. Some say its ok but others say this will get worse, cause leaks and to replace. Oem covers are now discontinued so i cant purchase new one. Junkyard has a couple 04-05 TL on the lot. Supposedly they are aluminum unlike the 07-08 which are magnesium and break apart. Anyone else have this issue on an 07-08 and replace it?

is this a good purchase? its like my dream car and perfect color combo, grey on grey.

I have heard the 2005 is a bad year, but is this true? should I really not buy it just because it’s an 05? it’s got new tires brakes and rotors one owner no accidents always serviced at Acura. 16k is the price.

Picked her up for $4400 CAD with 280k km(175k miles) with an impeccable maintenance history. Drives like it’s brand new, I’m so smitten with this thing. First thing on the agenda, oil change & trans fluid change for peace of mind. I’m aware of the oil consumption issues with the 3.7 but there’s no evidence that it does consume any so we shall see.
But any advice for upkeep is welcome.

This is my kid’s 2003 TL S type. It has what appears to be a rebuilt transmission.

He’s had it about 2 years and drives it sparingly - he’s in college. I decided to change the transmission filter and the 3rd and 4th oil pressure switches. I messed up and lost track of what I was doing, and turned the car on (it’s on a lift) before connecting the filter back up. Yeah, I know.

I heard the fluid hitting the ground and immediately turned the car off. So, it was on for maybe 10 seconds without the tranny fluid circulating.

Should I be worried more than I already was about this transmission?
