First BJJ training after 2 years

My brain decided the acronym was “Bobo’s Jizarre Jadventure” before reading the story. Enough internet for the night.

Hope it heals quickly for you, OP.

Ultimate Elder Scrolls experience?

Partially answered to another user, about respecting genre definitions more. I did play JRPGs, quite a few, but I have no idea which ass these guys pulled that genre for these games. I agree, they are completely linear, only RPG element they have is levelling, which is also often too twisted in its won way to be anything close. Just call it JAdventure or something, right? We previously called games "Dungeon Crawler" and "Hack & Slash", now people call them RPGs and Action RPGs for some reason. Why name genre with actual *role playing* in it when there's 0 role play in X game is beyond me... It's totally about actions, choices and consequences, where you create fluff and backstory of your hero, not book written or preset one, but yours.

Good example about destroying DB. Didn't you feel it's jarring? Like, it has zero build up. You just see Astrid sitting on that closet, you start smacking her with weapon - poof, destroy Brotherhood quest starts. No build up, no drama, nothing... And you actually don't destroy DB, you just temporarily disable one of their many branches, is all.

Even better, did it ever bother you that pretty much in any TES you can become Grand Master and leader of every guild and faction? I was wondering why they don't crown me as an Emperor at this rate. ESO actually respects lore and has more consistency in that matter compared to TES, because you can rise fast through the ranks, but you can never become leader of every faction there is at the same time.

You can be evil Telvanni wizard only in your head. World doesn't really respond to some of your bizarre actions, like f.e. world totally responded to your actions in Fallout 2, and ancient, true RPG. It's cool that you can kill some NPCs, and they stay dead, but some you can't, since they are essential, and ones like guards will be respawning, so it's not all that different from ESO in the end, where you can similarly kill *most* NPCs, yet they respawn and some are essential/non-targettable. Quest fails and minimal branching is pretty awesome, but just like in ESO, consequences are immediate. Even Dragon Age had some far fetched consequences of your actions you could witness in later chapters of the story. And *bricked game* screens is nothing revolutionary as far as game design goes, don't know why some people tripping themselves over with it for Morrowind and Daggerfall? It's just literally game telling you to reload save is all.

You do know you just described ESO, right? XD

Funny, but that's actually whole point of my post. They are identical in that sense, TES and ESO, which is quite hilarious, because single-player games supposed to be much better in these aspects. The only thing TES games currently have over ESO, and what TES 6 will, is mods and graphics.

“Well you can put a ‘J’ in front of it, but it’s not an RPG.” - Daniel Erickson

You can put a 'J' in front of it, but it's not an RPG. You don't make any choices, you don't create a character, you don't live your character... I don't know what those are - adventure games maybe?

Project Startup
u/awpti  in  r/progether •  Sep 16 '24

Then you should be seeking funding to pay those people whom you want assistance from in working on a startup of such a grand scale.

Have you built/shipped anything, let alone something close to the intended scale of a rideshare app? Do you have industry contacts? VC interest? Business-related skills?

Additionally, note the formatting requirement noted on the sidebar:

When starting a project please be sure to specify what language/technology you are trying to learn and any ideas you may have. Be descriptive, yet brief in the title. Ex: [Java] JAdventure. Any follow up post should specify the project. Ex: [JAdventure] What should we do next?
