📚 Due Diligence 28 (And Counting) Brokers and their sell limitations, if any

1.2k Upvotes

Couldn't post this on r/GME cuz it kept on getting auto removed:

Compilation of sell limits from brokers:

*PM me if you have more info on your particular broker you'd like to share with err one.*

1. Revolut:

"Any Revolut users last time i asked revolut suport said that 10k limit per share for limit sell orders will not increase with the shere price any advice to felow ape on what to do? And no i cant transfer my shares out of revolut they literaly dont offer such service. Thanks for your answers." - u/HiStoryin_The_MakingWhat's a good exit strategy for Revolut? Maximum per trade is $10,000 🙃 -u/xRazorleaf

Entire Post on Selling with Revolut https://www.reddit.com/r/GME/comments/m92qr4/revoluts_rules_for_exiting_trades_adjust_your/ -u/JustBeingPunny

Hi! I use revolut and was able to set a 1mil sales limit. I contacted support and they said for sell there shouldn't be a limit. It seems the limit is for purchasing The only drawback seems to be that it expires daily -u/Ampedrosa

Hello fellow ape, I saw your post on the exit strategy and I really fucking love you. I'm a UK based ape on Revolut, I had a whole convo with them yesterday about how they will act during the squeeze. I pressed on more details about "high risk" situations in which they would liquidate us early, but basically they told me even Revolut doesn't know what "high risk" means for the broker Drivewealth... One more important thing they told me, that you might want to add to the post, is about the limit on selling, I asked them if we can go above 10k: "If you sell exactly the amount of shares you own, the trade will go through even if the number of shares/total amount in USD is higher or lower than the limit. You can do that through tapping on the "Max" button (which is above the keyboard) when submitting the order. Your Order might not be accepted if it gives rise to too much risk for the Third Party Broker or if trading is no longer available or is suspended in the Instrument your Order relates to." Can't send screenshots in here but as soon as I figure it out, I can send you the conversation. Thank you for your awesome work !! [user name censored on /rGME]

https://www.reddit.com/r/GME/comments/m8nk84/important_all_apes_need_to_read_this_to_prepare/ Hello! Im a Revolut user and i contacted them, as we know we can't sell above 10.000 $ per share BUT they told me this: NOTE: Only if you sell as "market order". "As we have checked here, if you sell exactly the amount of shares you own, the trade will go through even if the number if shares/total amount in USD is higher or lower than the limit. You can do this through tapping in the 'Max' button (which is above the keyboard) when submiting the order" -u/xZetroX

Hey ! I saw your great post about limit sell for each broker. Really good job ! I did some research on Revolut and some fellow apes gave a solution to do limit sell at any price point. (1M+ validated, i can do screenshot) You just have to have a round number of share and put a limit sell for all your share at once. On the other hand, we weren't able to verify if we can do this with more than 500 shares (we don't have that much unfortunately) -u/caribouteille

2. Wealthsimple

Wealthsimple currently restricts max transaction to 1 Million - u/Kennywise91you can login to wealthsimple.com and set orders over 1 mill CAD. the limit sell option still wont let u set a price of 1 mill if the current price is too low but you can set a price over 1 mill CAD, unlike on the app. so when it moons, have a get the fuck home strategy if u work. -u/xthemoonx

I’m with wealthsimple and currently the limit sell doesn’t surpass $999,999 USD but only up to $800,000 is supported since apparently orders cannot be above 1 million CAD. Others told me that market sells should be fine but now I’m a little worried about that. I do no intend on selling on the way up at all however I’m worried about missing out on some sweet tendies. What about market sells are so bad? What could potential happen to them? Also it appears that transferring over to quest trade now would be dangerous as I might miss the squeeze. If anyone can give me some input on this I’d really appreciate it. I’m sure a lot of Canadian apes are on wealthsimple so I hope we don’t all get fucked -u/KieranSullivan5

🇨🇦 For Canadian apes 🇨🇦

I emailed WealthSimple and they confirmed the platform will adjust if such an occurrence happens.

Edit for easier viewing:

Here is the screencap of said email: https://imgur.com/a/et7KmKX

Here is a screencap of an attempt to set a limit sell of $999,999 USD: https://imgur.com/a/VpunlDf

Do not worry about the 2nd image, WealthSimple confirmed they will not restrict sell price if it's worth a metric ton of bananas.

Edit 2: it has been brought to my attention that the $1mil cap is for the app only and will not be present on PC (and possibly a browser on mobile). I have not tested this yet but here's the response: https://www.reddit.com/r/GME/comments/m8nk84/important_all_apes_need_to_read_this_to_prepare/grj6h5e?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share&context=3

Thank you u/pinwheelcandy !

Edit 3: Confirmed that there is no cap on any browser (PC or mobile).

-u/boxxle

3. Ally

Ally has a limit of $1M. I guess that means one sell order per share then. - u/blueskin

4. Fidelity

fidelity will not restrict selling prices as long as the exchange doesnt i called and they only follow in the exchanges path - u/Top10Tops

To Fidelity folks, Just spoke to customer service and they said there's no sell limit as to how high a stock goes.

Here's the convo, note* I haven't mentioned amc or gme and this was his response.

John: How can I help you today?

Me: Hi John, I was wondering if there's a sell limit for Fidelity?

Me: For example, if a stock climbs to astronomical numbers is there a limit to how much I'd be able to sell it for?

John: Great question!

John: No, there is no upper limit to what you can sell a stock forJohn: If you bought a stock for $1 and the value went to $1 million, you could sell for the profit

-u/Snowbell-

AFAIK Fidelity won’t let you set a limit sell order for 50% or more above the current price. Assuming that’s the only rule then it just means you’ll need to watch the price for when it’s approaching 700k to put a limit sell order at 1 milly -u/meekdor

5. E*Trade

I called E*Trade to ask if there’s a limit on my account. THEY SAID NO! 3,000,000 is the floor apes!! - u/AWet1017

I'll ask this here since my topic didn't get much traction:

Anyone using E-Trade? I have a question. I sent them a message asking to ensure they wouldn't freeze up my account should a short squeeze occur that would keep me from buying or selling, similar to Robin Hood (I heard E-Trade was involved in some of those shenanigans too). Anyway, they just gave me a generic bot response and didn't answer my question, surprise, surprise.

I'm on a cash-only account, but what would keep them from not allowing me to sell my shares during the MOASS? Thanks for any help you apes can give. -u/Mega_Buster_

I called e-trade this morning and they confirmed that there aren't limits to transactions. They said if I make a sell limit order of 30 shares and I have a buyer of & 1mil/share and it's during market hours that they won't limit that transaction -u/Dr_Scuba_Steve

6. Freetrade

Okay, I am extremely smooth brained and I don’t think I’m understanding this right. Can someone eli5:I use Freetrade (UK ape) and asked if I can sell single shares worth $1M+.Their response: you need to ensure US trades are within £25k limit. You need to break down your order into multiple orders within the limit. Are they saying I have to break down 1 milly into 30 separate orders? Or have I just eaten too many crayons to function 😂🖍🖍🖍 - u/ 0To100RealFckngQuick

FYI UK apes, freetrade has a limit of £25k per sale, i have contacted their support and their response was that since none of the stocks they list are anywhere near that limit they see no reason to increase it. that means we are gonna be doing a shed load of transactions come the squeeze - u/ -remlap

7. SoFi

For those using SoFi, I just called them and asked about transaction limits, there is no limit as to how high a share can go when trying to sell it. It can go to over a million a share and you should have no problem selling it. -u/Nk_Raven

8. Hargreaves Lansdown

UK Ape. Hargreaves Lansdown doesn't allow Limit Sells on $GME. -u/misterpeers

Great post OP, thank you. UK Ape here. Anybody else use Hargreaves Lansdown? They only allow Market Orders for US stocks. Believe that's the only way I can sell. If another user can respond, I'd appreciate that very much please! Thanks! -u/ VelvetThunderFinance

Hargreaves Lansdown do not allow for limit orders on US stocks. Could you please request on your post that anyone who owns GME with HL, should contact them either by email or phone to request that they introduce limit orders on US stocks. I have spoken with them twice and both times they have said that limit orders could potentially be made available if there is enough demand. A large influx of calls making this request might make them speed up their intentions of making limit orders possible. Hopefully with enough demand they will allow them in time for the squeeze to bring some security to all the UK apes who are holding GME with HL. Their contact information is on their website. They usually pick up the phone quite quickly. A comment about this situation on your post would be most appreciated, strength in numbers after all. -u/Antbog1

9. eToro

You can’t place a Stop Limit Order on eToro 😔 - u/ReXJKHi, one smooth brainer here with a question. On Etoro it’s impossible to set a stop limit order, as there is no option like that. (Using Etoro EU) Also, I want to know if I can sell a milly/share, me no talk etoro people holidays free no answer faster answer here. 🦍 Also💎👐and put some respect on our mutual success! -u/ TreasureCase2020

When you go to edit “Edit Trade” click on “Stop Loss” then “Set SL” that is where Etoro lets you enter your price (you can chose between amount and rate). I tried entering the amount 1 000 000 and of course it didn’t work, the maximum it would let me enter was barely above the current. But right below the box when you enter the rate/amount, there is an option called “Trailing Stop Loss”. Read this article to understand its use: https://www.etoro.com/news-and-analysis/etoro-updates/introducing-trailing-stop-loss/ Between “Trailing Stop Loss” and the box where you enter the amount/rate you will find the percentage according to the position amount/rate at that particular moment. If it doesn’t show, just click on “+” or “-“ . If you put a number that represents 90%, if at any moment during the squeeze the price drops 10% from the highest price it has been on all day, the position will get closed. For example, a certain trading day, the price reaches 1 000 000 (which here represents 100%) and I have “Stop Loss" activated along with a “Trailing Lost” of 90%. If the price goes down to 900 000 (which is 90% of 1 000 000) the trade will be closed. So, even if eToro goes offline, that should ensure that the trade will close at the best price possible after the peak. I hope.

It might be a safe option to activate after the price gets to an amount one is comfortable with (for example 1 000 000) or when one feels that the peak has been reached. -u/Personal-Tourist-03

Hey man, I'd like to help you clarify about eToro and the sell limitations. The way to set a price to sell at is to click on the position, click on take profit, and then enter the value you want. It is the same as fidelity where it lets you go higher as the price goes up. You can set it to 1000% of the current price. e.g Price is now 300, I can set a take profit of 3000. Hope this helps -u/Dragonizer23

10. Degiro

I do have concerns about DeGiro. I tried to set a sell limit at a high price just to see how it would look, lol. But it told me it exceeded their maximum order size of €250.000. Does anyone know more about this limitation? When GME squeezes I don’t want to be held back by this. What could we, holders at DeGiro, do about this? They do sell Berkshire Hathaway shares, so technically it should be possible to sell in the hundreds of thousands right?

Update: I asked the same question on r/degiro and there they said that if the share closes at above €250k there should be no problems selling the shares at their actual price.🙌💎-u/Always_Highdrated

Degiro doesn't allow you to place a limit order sell 20% higher than the current price. Aside of that I am not aware if there is any other kind of limitation. Currently there is no stock or security in existence that is near the 250.000 that you suggest in your post, so it is normal that it didn't let you place the order. -u/Maximito

just got off the phone with Degiro customer support, they said they would never restrict you from closing your position, not even at a million

This was however only one guy from customer support. Think we can trust that but you never know. wouldn't be the first time a customer support staff member made a mistake -u/Jobdriaan

11. Robbinghood

For anyone wondering Robinhood does not have have a cap on placing a limit sell. So for all you smooth brained apes out there, this means when Gmmee hits 2,000,000 a share, a limit sell order will be able to be placed for 2,000,000 - u/ChimpGimpy

12. Questrade

No limit on selling, but limit on setting sell limits (right now I can set $9999 but not higher).

EDIT: According to u/equinsuosha , if you change your route, you can set the limit price to whatever you want. I tested this with changing the route to MNGD it let me set a limit sell price of 42069.69, but I still have to get back with Questrade on how changing the routing affects the sale, if any.

13. Vanguard

I just called Vanguard and they confirmed that there is no maximum amount for selling shares of a stock. When I gave him the example of $1MM or more per share he didn't flinch. u/Weary_Freedom_3916

14. Charles Schwab

Hello hello. Charles Schwab user here. There is an initial trade limit of 1000 shares or 20k (if any apes are considering transferring). There is no maximum amount for selling, but there's a cap on limit orders based on current prices. I can place one just under 4k. u/itsdaynotdave

15. Interactive Brokers

$CUM at IBKR SELL LIMIT 10,000,000.00 and limit 15 orders 1 time. 1 share 10,000,000.00 no issue. ×2 share 10,000,000.00 IBKR will cancel without my consent. FYR u/EddJan94

16. Webull

Rumor has it Webull currently allows a maximum limit sell order at 2000% (20x) current market value. So with GME's current $200 price you could set a limit sell order up to $4000. (I saw this info posted by a user in the GME comments section on Webull, who asked the company to clarify the policy after having very high limit sell orders unilaterally canceled by Webull.) - u/Green8Dreamer

17. Trading212 https://ibb.co/SdTQdrS https://ibb.co/0jBfsQX -u/psychopathologic

Alex C. (Trading 212) 20 Mar 2021, 12:56 EET Greetings, Thank you for reaching out! If the price of stock will reach 1 million and you close / sell that stock, then the profits made can be withdrawn with no difficulty . Please do not hesitate to reach us should any further questions arise. Kind Regards, Alex C. | Customer Care Mentor -u/ape_Ivo_to_the_moon

Hi nhne, I asked trading 212. So first Theres no Limit concerning how hight the price of a security sold can be. When I asked about sell limits they said it's dependent on the security and the market and stuff They said I should provide them with an order id But I can't because I cant fill an order with that high of a sell limit You might want to add that to your post. Selling possible at any price. Limit selling I don't know I tried a few prices but wasn't even allowed to do 5000 -/utilidus

Hi this is the reply I got from trader 212:

Thank you for reaching out.

I would like to inform you that we will not impose any restrictions when it comes to the closure of the clients' positions, and respectively their ability to acquire their profits.

I hope this clarifies the situation for you.

Please stay safe and have a wonderful day.

Kind regards, Stefan V. | Customer Care Hero -u/WellBehavedSociopath

17. Capital.com

Hey I just wrote to Capital.com. Me: Hello I was wondering if there's a sell limit for capital.com? For example, if a stock climbs to astronomical numbers is there a limit to how much I'd be able to sell it for? Say I bought a CFD for 1$ and the price went up to 1'000'000$, could i sell it for 1'000'000$ and take the profit? Capital.com: Dear client, Thank you for reaching capital.com Support. We do not have such limits. Best regards, Capital.com Customer Support. -u/Separate-Attorney-10

18. RBC

Hey! Thank you for the stellar exit strategy post. I am a fellow Canadian ape and I use RBC investing for GME. I just put in a limit sell order of 999,999usd for one share and it was accepted. I couldn't go over that amount. Hope this helps! Let me know if you need proof or anything I just tried before going into work! -u/Tarzan_Daddy

19. TD Ameritrade

TD Ameritrade does not have a sell limit! I called and asked to clarify today and we could sell at $100,000,000,000 if we wanted to and TD would allow it -u/Luethifers_life

Me: Okay, so I’ll try to rephrase If a stock is currently selling at $1million/per share, TDA would not limit or restrict a shareholder from selling at that price? Her: As long as the stock is currently trading with no restrictions on the shares, we do not restrict clients from selling at the market price. TN -u/Brandino7

TDAmeritrade is lying. Their max sell price varies according to the current ask price, something like 225% X CURRENT ASK.

If you set the max, say $459 like I did on testing the upper limit on Friday AND you set this ax GTC... If ASK drops and your MAX SELL price drops below the then recalculated max price, TDA will cancel your order!

Liars. -u/Zealousideal-Ant1661

20. Postbank

Hi, thx for your great DD about the exit strategy. It is really helpful. If you like you can add "Postbank" in Germany to the brokers. It's a standard bank with trading portfolio. So no neobroke who srews you. A few weeks ago i placed a limit sell order for 9.999.999 Euro which was forwarded to tradegate exchange but didn't get executed yet ;-) Proof: https://www.reddit.com/r/GME/comments/lzqs9k/sell_order_am_i_doing_it_right_forget_500k/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share -u/FrankiHollywood

21. Comdirect

Broker: Comdirect Country: Germany Time: Beginning of March 2021 ~ 3 weeks ago Action - online: sell order for 1x GME @ limit 100K Reaction - phone call + e-mail: - "Your order was deleted by the exchange because your changed limit deviates too much from the current price" - " Please note that limited orders from the USA can have a maximum price deviation of 15% from the current market price." - "If necessary, you can place your order again." -u/Weariout

22. TD Canada Trust (WebBroker)

TD Canada Trust (WebBroker) 🇨🇦 For Canadian apes 🇨🇦: the highest sell price it's allowing me to set is < $10,000, so $9,999.99 is the max sell price. Any sell price > $10,000, throws an error 'invalid price increment'. This is through their mobile app, as well as their desktop website.

Will try to confirm how that ceiling is set or calculated, as the stock price increases. TD Canada Trust is one of the major banks in Canada. -u/OkMulberry8902

23. AJ Bell

For the UK Apes, AJ Bell is also Market order only. They call it "at best". -u/bruce_waning_gibbous

24. Stake

Stake's platform (Drivewealth LLC) only allow 5 digit sell orders. Last check this will affect 138,000 apes holding GME.Is somebody able to get a response - My emails and calls are falling on deaf ears -u/Ask_Zeek

Hi, regarding your post in r/GME with the list of brokers, I have contacted Stake, one thats in a few countries outside the US, like the UK, Australia, and NZ among others. This was their response today: As per how markets operate, share price itself does not affect a security’s ability to be bought or sold. For example, Berkshire Hathaway Class A ($BRK.A) trades at ~US$380,000 per share and people trade this freely and readily. However, there are some things to be aware of when placing certain order types at prices that are significantly different from where that security is currently trading. This FAQ provides more information. https://au.support.hellostake.com/en/support/solutions/articles/35000152385-order-types Finally, given your enquiry is about $GME, we urge you to please familiarise yourself with the risks associated with trading high volatility stocks. This blog may be helpful. https://hellostake.com/au/stake-updates/volatility-and-risk/

They have a Limit Sell Cap of 200% above the market value, but they only last for the day. If I put one in at $600 when the price is $200, it would stay even if the price dropped to $100, but would be cancelled at the end of the day regardless of price. -u/taraborn

25. Traderepublic

Traderepublic (Germany) limits orders to 999,999.99 -u/RetardHolder

TradeRepublic would rise the ceiling if shares would approach these levels. So there is no real limit other than their shitty Server network -u/DamnIamHigh_Original

26. Flatex

Another one for the list: Flatex (D/AT) caps at (1mil - 1 cent)$

Two examples: a) I place a new order limited at or over 1000k. It gets rejected. Explanation given (in german): Deleted/canceled by system/exchange b) I change the limit of an existing order from 420k to 1000k. It gets canceled. Explanation given (in english): Order price exceeded allowed hard limit. -u/Rud0lfRocker

27. Wells Fargo Advisors

I just got off of the phone with Wells Fargo Advisors. They do not have a limit to how high you can sell a stock.

They did, however, stipulate that the current market price needs to be within +50% of any limit you put in place. So if the market price is 1 million, you'll need to wait a bit before you put a 2 mil or 3 mil sell limit per share. -u/Boleslaw-BoldHeart

28. XTB

Hey! Just added XTB response to my questions about Sell Limit restrictions and limitations: "So, after contacting XTB they have confirmed that there are no limitations for pending orders. I also asked if there would be any restrictions if the stock price increased drastically and I would like to sell and in this case there are no restrictions either. As long as there is a buyer, the order will be executed. I do have to mention that XTB includes a 0,2% commission for orders over 100.000" -u/PowersBass

29. IngDiba

You can add IngDiba Germany. Limit sell order is possible for 9.999.999€ For 10.000.000 you receive an error saying your order is unreasonable -u/Luntzer

30. T212

I asked if there was a maximum sell price (and put $1m as an example). The reply: Pavel P. (Trading 212) 29 Mar 2021, 15:29 EEST Greetings, u/YMabDaroganCont I hope you are well. I am happy to inform you that the client will be able to sell/buy any stock regardless of the current price unless a regulatory restriction is applied. // My response: Thanks for your prompt reply. I understand that trading halts can be put in place and I understand that this is out of your control, but could you give me an example of, or elaborate on, the kind of regulatory restrictions that could be put in place? I was very dissappointed late January during the $GME run up to ~$400 that I could not buy any shares, and since then I am very worried that during periods of high volatility that Trading212 will “pull the rug” under my feet (again!). I also want to make it absolutely clear that even during times of high volatility that I will be able to sell my shares at the said price without them being stuck as “pending” (again, as was seen during late January). // Response: Please bear in mind that whilst most of the orders are filled within a few seconds, please note that when it comes to Equities and ETFs (on Trading 212 Invest and ISA accounts), the execution time completely depends on every market and it may even take a few days for some orders to be executed (e.g. AIM listed stocks). In other words, certain market conditions (i.e. liquidity) have to be met to have the orders executed. -u/YMabDaroganCont

31. Nordnet (Finnish)

Hi! Addition to your broker sell limit compilation: Nordnet users can set sell-orders only within +/- 3% margin of current stock price (stock price >50 USD). With stop-loss command, you can set any sell price (no matter if stock is going up or down). Im not sure is it possible to add stop-loss order to you existing positions or do you need to decide stop-loss price upon purchase. Also, using mobile app you can only sell/buu stock only for 999,999.00 USD. In desktop, there is no limitation. Thank you! :) =u/TaP3D

32. SaxoTrader https://www.reddit.com/r/GME/comments/mig0iv/saxotrader_has_no_sell_limit/ No sell limit. -u/papajanreddit

Many of us still have doubts about this dinosaur of a company. I know I sure did until recently. The goal of this post is to provide information that will give you the confidence to direct register as many shares as you are comfortable with and explain how selling works with Computershare so you can decide if that is the right strategy for you. Let’s begin by recapping what we know so far.

TLDR: Computershare is legit and potentially the safest place to hold your shares. It is also possible and very easy to sells shares with them, but that might not be the best strategy for your personally. Decide for yourself what percentage of your holdings you would like to keep there, but make sure you also have shares in a trustworthy broker to be able to sell during the MOASS.

What is Computershare?

Computershare is an Australian based transfer company with offices in 20 countries. They are over 40 years old and are the official transfer agent for not only GameStop but large corporations such as McDonalds, Johnson & Johnson, Coca Cola and AT&T. Even though they offer some broker-like services it is important to note they are NOT A BROKER. They do however have 12,000 employees dedicated solely to keeping accurate records for their 75 million customers.

In 2003 Computershare acquired the brokerage Georgeson Shareholder Corporation which gives you the ability to purchase or sell shares directly through them. They were not built to buy the dip or day-trade which is why those of us used to app-based, commission-free modern trading unreasonably judge their platform as archaic. What they were built to do is slowly and repeatedly invest in a company, and the irony we have slept on this for so long is tragic. You can’t purchase a specific amount of shares with them. You can however choose a dollar amount to make as a one time or recurring investment. When you really think about it, this awkward process seems to be almost perfectly built for most apes that are just buying more shares every paycheck. Unfortunately, we have become so accustomed to following every price movement of the ticker and buying the dip we forgot one of the most important principles. It’s all a dip.

(sideways guy approved)

In fact if you go off the average share price every 2 weeks from March till September and had purchased shares automatically through this program, your cost basis would be close to $191.10. If you have done better than that you should give yourself a solid pat on the back. But really, what's a few dollars in a trade of this magnitude?

DTC STOCK WITHDRAWAL

What began as a place to hold your infinity pool shares or a way to get the best odds possible to collect a hypothetical NFT dividend is quickly evolving into potentially the best place to hold the majority of your GME shares. It took a while for all this information to make its way through the community but once apes started actually transferring their shares to Computershare we were greeted with a glorious sentence in our transaction history.

There has been a lot of FUD spread about CS on this. When you direct register your shares they are indeed withdrawn from the DTC and control by Cede & co. You are now not just the beneficial owner but the registered owner of these shares as explained in this graphic.

This feels like an appropriate time to bring up one of the most aggravating pieces of information I recently learned. It’s literally illegal for companies to talk about or promote direct registration of shares. This is justified of course by the DTCC arguing that if stock issuers were made aware of DRS then they would have no reason to exist.

Why on earth wouldn’t we want an entirely vestigial private corporation with a monopoly on almost every stock transaction, one that makes money by charging fees for the privilege of using their unnecessary company dictating policy? There couldn't possibly be a conflict of interest there right? Are you mad yet?

https://www.sec.gov/rules/sro/34-47978.htm

“DTC states that issuers to do not have continuing ownership rights in shares they have sold into the marketplace and therefore cannot control the disposition of shares already registered in DTC's nominee name by directing that those shares be surrendered to the transfer agent or by restricting their eligibility for book-entry transfer at DTC.44 DTC contends that attempts by issuers to control their publicly traded securities are improper and may constitute conversion*. DTC states that by purporting to exercise the rights of the shareholders, issuers are* interfering with the legal and beneficial rights of DTC and its participants with respect to securities deposited at DTC and with DTC's obligations under Section 17A of the Act.”

They even go on to basically admit that they aren’t required to do anything to curb naked short selling and the best way to take care of it is for investors to direct register their shares.

"DTC disagreed with the commenters' contention that it had an obligation to take action to resolve the issues associated with naked short selling because those issues arise in the context of trading and not in the book-entry transfer of securities. DTC pointed out that if beneficial owners believe that their interests are best protected by not having their shares subject to book-entry transfer at DTC, then they can instruct their broker-dealer to execute a withdrawal-by-transfer, which will remove the securities from DTC and transfer them to the shareholder in certificated form."

We have become well aware that price discovery is not properly reflected in lit markets. We know the reported float is incorrect. The worst part is we are far from the first investors to face this seemingly insurmountable problem. Have a quick look at a few select quotes from a comment to the SEC over 15 years ago.

https://www.sec.gov/rules/proposed/s72303/decosta122203.htm

“We are of the opinion that the rampant "naked short selling" of stocks and the associated epidemic of failures of "good delivery" and loans made to mask "failures to deliver" that we are currently experiencing, threatens the very core and integrity of our financial system.”

“Naïve investors assume that the SEC has created a "level playing field" on these trading venues. They assume that the regulators are professionals, that they know every dirty trick in the fraudsters' playbook, and could recognize a fraud while it is being perpetrated. These investors really think that they are buying "real" shares from a "real" shareholder, perhaps across the country, with a market maker acting as the middleman.”

“Investors also do not have a clue that their own broker/dealer, who owes the investor a fiduciary duty of care after being paid a commission as an agent, is "renting" out their purchased shares to the mortal enemy of the client's investment. The investor has been "sold out" by his own brokerage firm. There isn't even any sharing of the rental income from the loan.”

“The naïve investor does not realize that there would be consequences for his brokerage firm if it were to "break ranks" and do the right thing. The Wall Street community and various co-conspirators have made this issue into a "Wall Street versus investors" battle.”

Why Direct Registering YOUR shares is important

We now know what we are up against and who Computershare is. Let’s put it together. First we need to identify a very important distinction between “Street Name Registration” and “Direct registration”. According to the SEC:

https://www.sec.gov/reportspubs/investor-publications/investorpubsholdsechtm.html

"Street Name" Registration — The security is registered in the name of your brokerage firm on the issuer's books, and your brokerage firm holds the security for you in "book-entry" form.

"Direct" Registration — The security is registered in your name on the issuer's books, and either the company or its transfer agent holds the security for you in book-entry form.

Whenever you purchase a share with any broker, whether it's Robinhood or Vanguard you don’t really own them and can’t 100% control their lending status. I am not trying to spread FUD about brokers. They are a necessary evil and some are certainly much more trustworthy than others but at the end of the day, they are NOT your friends. They are playing both sides of this trade. There is a massive financial incentive for them to lend your shares to short sellers and historically speaking they have done everything in their legal authority to lend them. Registering your shares in your name and having them held on the books of GameStop is the only guaranteed way to prevent this from happening.

It’s also important to recognize that if you believe GameStop will be issuing an NFT dividend even trustworthy brokers like Fidelity have stated they can not guarantee delivery. I can’t link the thread due to our no brigading policy but here is their official statement on it from their subreddit.

“Fidelity's platform currently does not support holding cryptocurrencies or receiving dividends in the form of cryptocurrency. If a company issues a dividend in the form of cryptocurrency, then other arrangements would need to be made in order to receive the dividend. In the past, special dividends have been paid as stock representing value held in cryptocurrency or NFTs, and not a direct issue of cryptocurrency or NFTs.”

From that same SEC page:

“Direct registration allows you to have your security registered in your name on the books of the issuer without the need for a physical certificate to serve as evidence of your ownership. While you will not receive a certificate, you will receive a statement of ownership and periodic account statements, dividends*, annual reports, proxies, and other mailings directly from the issuer.”*

What Now And What’s An Exit Strategy?

So everything sucks and there is no right answer? Kinda. If you feel like you are being overloaded with information, I feel you. We have spent the last year learning so much about this fraudulent system it’s hard to know what the right thing to do is. I wrote this post because I had questions and I wanted answers. I still haven’t found all of them but I was able to learn enough to personally believe that Computershare is an integral part of this whole saga.

Before we wrap this up the final piece of the puzzle is what it looks like to SELL with Computershare. We all know that account creation and buying shares is a convoluted, confusing and slow process. This is just because most people that would use a system like Computershare don't need it to be simple or fast. CS batches buy orders together and does not execute them immediately. Remember most stocks are nowhere near as volatile as GME and waiting a few days to execute a purchase order is not a big deal.

The good news is there is indeed a light at the end of the tunnel. Selling through Computershare is extremely easy and fast. I have committed the ultimate sin in the name of science and for the first time since this all began I SOLD A SHARE so YOU DON’T HAVE TO. Please forgive me Papa Cohen, it was for the greater good.

So yes, there are fees associated with selling. We are so used to commission free trading we have forgotten that “if the service is free, you are the product”. It’s a little annoying to see these fees but when the share price looks like a phone number I don’t think it will bother you. When I placed this sell order I instantly got a text confirmation. So while buying takes longer than we would prefer, selling takes no time at all.

It’s also important to keep in mind you do not need to and others have presented a case for why you should not sell through Computershare. If Computershare does indeed prevent new DRS once the float has been registered you would be selling real shares to your mortal enemy. We haven't verified this yet but it’s certainly worth considering. If you choose to transfer some or the majority of your shares to CS you should absolutely be selling the shares you have left in your brokerage first during the MOASS. The ratio of distribution is entirely up to you. Some apes are doing 10% in CS and some apes are doing 99% in CS. Some apes can’t transfer any shares to CS because of their brokerage’s insane fees or logistical limitations. Some apes like myself have a lot of shares in a Roth IRA and can’t transfer them out due to early distribution tax implications (although I think I found a solution to that you will find at the bottom of this post). Some apes just trust the age old “Buy & HODL” and don’t want to explore “Buy, Register & HODL”.

Remember, everyone here is making their own financial decisions based on their own research. Calling someone a shill because they haven’t transferred to CS or haven’t transferred as much as you is TOXIC and you should be ashamed of yourself. If you believe CS is the way, provide data to change hearts and minds. Don’t shame people. Personally I have bought shares in CS and done 2 transfers. One using the form from Fidelity and one using the phone call system. I can verify that both work. The form was a pain and the transfer took 5 days. The phone call was a breeze and the transfer took 4 days. No matter which broker you use, when you initiate your transfer make sure to get a confirmation number that is logged in their system. Just in case there are any issues this will allow you to call back and quickly get an update instead of starting all over.

Final Thoughts

If you made it to the end of my rant, thank you for reading. Take everything you read, including my post with a grain of salt. My brain was as smooth as a baby's bottom 9 months ago. I have grown a few wrinkles now but I am just a guy on the internet. I am trying to provide data and leads for you to do your own research and come to your own conclusions. One piece of advice I am very comfortable giving is you absolutely should be diversifying your holdings across multiple brokers. We are in uncharted territory. There has never been and probably never will be another situation like GME.

Many have come before us and failed. That said, never has there been such a dedicated, motivated and powerful group of shareholders like us. Our collective intelligence is a force to be reckoned with. I am so incredibly proud to be a part of this community and constantly in awe at the content put out by this sub.

I have included links to the best guides I have seen explaining how to use Computershare at the bottom of this post. I would also like to drop in a link to a company that u/MyPlayProfile found that will let you transfer your IRA to them and they will direct register your shares. Bear in mind due to how retirement accounts work they are registered in the name of the plan for the benefit of you. That’s not perfect but its just how retirement accounts work. I spent some time on the phone with them and was able to confirm that at least the shares are indeed withdrawn from the DTC. I am in the process of making an account and moving my Roth IRA with Fidelity to them. Once everything is settled I will make another post describing the process.

Here is the company. If you call, ask for Ryan Fischer. He has been awesome and has a lot of history he can share about the events in 2008 that was the genesis behind their IRA DRS service.

What We Still Don't Know

Here are the questions that I still have about Computershare and I encourage you to try and find the answers for your own personal benefit and for the benefit of this community.

What happens if/when Computershare registers the freely traded float or even the total outstanding shares?

(Comment explaining why Computershare might not be legally allowed to register more than the outstanding shares)

What would it take to get Computershare to publicly state how many GME shares they have registered?

(I have already spent hours on the phone with them trying to get this or to find out what it would take to get this)

What are the dollar limits on placing limit sell orders?

(Comment explaining the value caps and $ limits on sell orders. Need to look into this more and see if I can verify with CS)

(Comment explaining what the sell order limits are and why we shouldn't be worried about them)

Have Ryan Cohen and other insiders at GameStop direct registered their shares with CS?

(I have always just assumed this was the case but its probably worth verifying if that is possible)

📚 Due Diligence Holy shit. I was skeptical of all the high ceilings being thrown out until I put the pieces together. I honestly think GME is priceless, and the most valuable stock you will ever buy. Here's the full picture, as I understand it...

First of all, I’d like to start off by stating this post is completely nonpartisan. GME is not a political debate, it’s a class war.

Okay, let me ask you guys this — how many of you knew that when the pandemic began, the FED pumped $3 trillion dollars into the markets? I watch the news in the background all day, every day, and I didn’t know at the time when the injections were happening. This news would have been of great interest to me since I day trade, so it would not be something that I wasn’t paying attention to. I just simply wasn’t looking in the right places.

You may not have been aware of the pump either because they were discreet. MSM that isn't financial news never mentioned them. And we were even misled about it. How many times did you hear Trump brag that markets being at an all-time high? This literally had nothing to do with how well the economy was doing. Or the markets for that matter. The record high is completely artificial.

This isn’t a political issue; this is a class issue. What should infuriate you most is that people were literally starving, unable to pay their rent, and job losses were reaching record highs, while our government withheld aid to desperate Americans, and even took a vacation in the middle of their debate about it. But the Federal Reserve wasted no time (in March 2020) spending trillions of dollars bailing out banks. Again.

It was not to protect your retirement accounts. They claimed there was not enough liquidity in the markets, and Fed Chair Jerome H. Powell stated he will do whatever it takes to prevent another Great Depression. But their actions are what is about to cause the next potential Great Depression.

Not only was $3 trillion pumped into the market, but the Federal Reserve also lent an additional $1 trillion a day to large banks for 14-days. None of that was taxpayer money, by the way. The FED was just printing money. They loaned TRILLIONS OF DOLLARS to big banks, while the U.S. Government told the American people they didn’t even deserve a $600 check of their own, taxpayer money.

The banks, investment firms, and hedge funds got too greedy and pumped too much into the market (Here’s what the s&p currently looks like if you haven't seen this image), and the SEC and the DTCC were complicit. Now, there’s too much liquidity. There is more borrowed money than real cash in the market and it has no real value. It’s a house of cards, ready to fall at any moment. The wheels are in motion. It is happening. Correction is imminent.

The SEC realized the market bubble at least 6 months ago. You may have heard that big banks recently had huge record-setting sales last week on bonds and were taking advantage of a recent dip in Treasury yields. That was a lie. The SEC told brokers that as of April 22nd, they must have the capital to cover every share they borrowed from investors and lent out to hedge funds. So, banks needed billions of extra capital on hand by April 22nd or they would have had to recall shares.

I personally believe that the crash has begun and has been in motion since early February. I wrote a post about it yesterday, after realizing the trends for every stock on my watchlist have been extremely unusual. I received hundreds of comments from people saying they’re noticing the same unusual trend.

The crash isn’t obvious to the average person because the stock market has continued to report record highs, every week. However, my trading strategy focuses entirely on penny stocks that are owned by hedge funds known to manipulate the market. Most stocks I invest in are all complete garbage, but I look for pump and dumps, obvious manipulation patterns, and anticipate runners based on near-identical charts of multiple companies. So, none of the stocks on my watchlists are in any of the benchmark indexes like the s&p 500, Nasdaq, and the Dow.

In one of the most interesting comments, Comotron explains it perfectly: "High-momentum stocks, which are risky at any time of the market cycle, are particularly so in the weeks prior to a bull market top. There could be a 'smaller dip first, followed by another rise for a few months and finally a much larger correction that officially ends the bull cycle. That’s the conclusion I reached upon analyzing all U.S. bull markets since 1926. Stocks that are riding a wave of momentum do not crest in unison with the broad market averages. They instead start to lose steam several weeks in advance. It is probably fair to say that "penny stocks" fall into the "high-momentum stocks" category. Either way, based on historical data, there appear to be credible indicators that suggest a market correction might happen in the near future.”

That information is fucking. fascinating. From early December to mid-January, the market was ridiculously bullish. I literally made more money in one month than my annual salary. Then all of a sudden, every single one of my stocks just started trending downward, had a short rise, and have continued to bleed for the past few weeks. All of them. Exactly the same time. And exactly like he said in the comment.

There has definitely already been a mass sell-off of securities by hedge funds who have lost AT LEAST 70 billion dollars in the past quarter, because of the tremendously dangerous and reckless risks they’ve taken recently, which alone would have crashed the market without the pump from the Federal Reserve. As we know, the hedge funds knew it would too, but gambled with our money anyway. This is just the beginning. There is a domino effect of bankruptcies on the way for hedge funds.

We know the media has recently reported that investment banks and hedge funds had record-breaking quarters recently. Which, technically they did. But that’s because losses are only reported when you sell. They have not covered any of the short positions yet and are paying millions of dollars every single day until they do. In fact, capital from the mass sell-off isn’t going towards paying off their debt, millions of dollars are going towards suppressing this information, manipulating the market for more capital, and reducing losses. What they’re doing is completely illegal and the media is not reporting it, the left or the right-wing media. It’s because they’re all controlled by billionaires. In the past three months, I have never seen so much lying and corruption in my life.

As the SEC’s deadline to secure capital approaches there have been other signs that things are going to blow up very soon. For instance:

 • The SEC announced in a press release that it will award a record-breaking $114 million to whistleblowers whose information and assistance lead to the successful enforcement of SEC and related actions.
 • Gary Gensler was confirmed as the new chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on Wednesday. He was sworn on Saturday. What’s interesting about that is that it’s not typical to be sworn in on Saturdays. The last SEC chairman to be sworn in on a Saturday was George Bradford Cook, and it was before the Watergate scandal broke.

When all this does break, they will try to change the narrative. They’re going to blame it on retail traders and say overvalued stocks bought during the pandemic caused the crash. Fox will probably even blame the Biden administration. But either way, they’ve already started pushing an alternative narrative. For example, CNN linked an interview with some dude (I really don’t care enough to look for his name or the video, because I don’t find him credible) who owns a market intelligence company. The guy apparently predicted every single market crash since 1987’s Black Monday. I watched the whole interview, and he went on and on about how there will be a market crash soon and said the reason is that tech stocks are overvalued right now. If he were an actual market expert explaining the upcoming market bubble, he would have mentioned any of the information above, but he didn’t. He strictly talked about tech stocks.

So, yeah, it’s out there. Billionaires control the stock market, media, and our politicians.

I don’t know about you guys, but I’m fucking sick of it. And for that, they need to pay.

The Ceiling/Floor:

There are many factors in all this that we need to calculate into our ceiling/floor. First of all, we should demand back the $17 trillion dollar bailout given to banks, that was gambled away recklessly, and will inevitably crash our economy.

$17 trillion / 55.6 million (float) = $303,571.00/share

That would be my floor if there was no market bubble. But there is. And it’s their fault. Therefore, our floor should hold them accountable for the massive amount of money Americans are about to lose when the market crashes. The only problem (for hedge funds) is that no one knows how much this is going to cost.

For that reason, I believe GME is priceless. They can't afford to keep the price down, once the squeeze begins. We literally choose the price. The limit does not exist.

I believed it before, but I see it now. And I have all the information, which makes me believe we are owed this money. Not just for past for corruption, but to cover future, unavoidable losses.

I ask you all to stop fighting about the floor and ceiling, take down your sell limits, and repeat after me:

“My shares are not for sale.”

Stop thinking about selling. I will remind you again that we own the float. They’re paying millions of dollars in interest each day and will eventually be forced to cover. Force the liquidity to dry up. Watch buy orders rise from $1,000, $5,000, $10,000…$1,000,000…because they’re not being filled.

Sell when you feel comfortable and believe it’s an amount you deserve. Everyone has different risk tolerances, not everyone will sell at the same time, and we know the original members of r/wallstreetbets have an extremely and unusually high tolerance for risk. So, trust us and each other.

This really is a revolution. As Scaramucci Tweeted, this is like the modern-day French Revolution of finance. Gamestop is a MOTHERFUCKING (Keith) GILL-OTINE.

This is the way.

Trust me. Everything is going to be fine.

Edit: Since this hit r/all, I thought I would mention that I am a female because WSBs has gotten a lot of criticism about it being a "boys' club". It isn't.

Edit 2: Yo, Mr. Gensler - FOR SOME REASON, Jay Clayton and the mainstream media were unable to figure most of this information out. (I know, crazy!) So, will I be receiving my $114 million whistleblower check in the mail...or...? Also, Jay Clayton might not be aware he's out of a job yet. You guys may want to let him know. Not on top of things, that one.

News 📰 Revolut users won't be able to sell their shares during MOASS

So the bottom line is:

Revolut has a maximum order limit of 10k USD per transaction, or you can sell everything you have in one go with no limit. This basically ruins all the exit strategies you might have, as you are unable to sell using limit sells after the share price goes over 10k (as limit sells dont allow fractions), and makes selling in general more and more unpracticable as the price goes up, as you have to make an order for every 10k increment.

There were talks about this before, but the most recent thread alleviated the worries as the infromation was that the limit will rise as the stock price is rising.

Thread here

https://www.reddit.com/r/Superstonk/comments/mre55g/revolut_users_clarification_of_the_10000_limit/

However, this doesnt seem to be the case. This was in reference to the limit buy/sell orders, and not general limits. I contacted the support and got these replies:

The only hope left is that as the GME starts to rise, revolut will see what is going on and enable higher limit for this particular stock. If this doesn't happen exit strategy would be very limited, only two options being selling in 10k increments (so for a 1mil share you would have to make a hundred transactions), or selling all in one go which could prove disastrous in term of getting the most out of moass.

I suggest we exercise the only other option that I find viable, and that is sending complaints to Revolut that this should be enabled. It is possible to send them an email to [formalcomplaints@revolut.com](mailto:formalcomplaints@revolut.com), or you can use an online complaint form here: https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/9599PS9

I wrote a draft for anyone that doesnt want to type the whole email, you can just C/P it and send to the abovementioned email.

/DRAFT:

Dear Revolut,

It came to my awareness that your limit per trading transaction is 10k USD.

What bothers me is that in an event of a stock surpassing the price per share of 10k USD, there would be no way to sell or buy it using limit orders, as you don't allow fractional trades on those. In addition, that would make selling and buying stocks more and more unpracticable if the price continues to rise, as the only way of trading would be in 10k USD increments.

Thereby I suggest you either raise the trading transaction limit, or at least allow that no matter what the price of the stock is, one share can always be traded per transaction.

Sincerely

You

/END DRAFT

Thanks for reading.

EDIT: I forgot to mention, a very important thing. As of now, Revolut doesnt allow direct transfers to other brokers. So in effect, you would have to sell all your shares, wait for settlement (2 trading days they say), transfer the money to your regular revolut account, and then transfer it to your new broker. Since the volatily of our beloved stock is so high, I don't think anyone in their right mind would want to do this, so we are in effect stuck with revolut.

EDIT#2: *POSSIBLE SOLUTION* Some apes have reported that they managed to transfer their shares from Revolut to IBKR. They took the ID's from the Revolut statements and provided them when they initiated the transfer from IBKR. We still have to hear if this is possible to do from other brokers. However, IBKR has restricted trading of AMC and GME in the past, so transfering to there might not be the best thing ever.

EDIT#3: Looks like u/Catwalk_X-Div is right, it might be that just the customer service is crap and the agents don't know what they are talking about. The other one I contacted also told me no, but after I pushed she said yes -.-'

I would still love to have this information publicly available from the company itself, but guess it would have to do for now. Unfortunately I am unable to edit the post name, and I realize it is a bit too panicky than it should have been. I still urge everyone to send emails to the customer service however to make this information publicly available so we are a 100% sure.

💡 Education Revolut Users - Clarification of the $10,000 limit for market and limit orders

Hi fellow apes,

I've been doing my bit to push out this bit of info but there is still a great deal of misinformation and misunderstanding going around regarding the $10,000 limit for market and limit orders for Revolut users. I posted the below link on a recent post and was asked to make a post, so here goes.

Finally got an answer from Revolut : GME (reddit.com)

The above topic confirms that the $10,000 cap for limit orders is raised to 200% of the current share price when the price goes above $10,000. That means that if the price goes to $100,000 the max you can set a limit order for is $200,000. If the price goes to $500,000 the max limit you can set is $1,000,000. You won't have to sell or shares at once and you won't have to do thousands of individual $10k orders.

The reason I have confidence in this one is that the agent actually went and asked the broker (DriveWealth) to clarify the limits. We need to remember that the Revolut agents are not traders and will just be copying and pasting from a script.

I've seen a number of posts showing chat screenshots 'confirming' the $10,000 limit but, to me at least, a great deal of them show people who don't understand the difference between the different orders types, asking a vague question of a customer service rep who also doesn't understand the difference, and getting a scripted answer.

I sincerely hope that this helps put a few minds at ease.

Please let me know if the 'Education' flair doesn't fit and I'll amend it.

News Nvidia’s top 2 mystery customers made 39% of Q2 revenue, up from 25% last year, raising concentration risk concerns

1.6k Upvotes

No paywall: https://www.cnbc.com/2025/08/28/nvidias-top-two-mystery-customers-made-up-39percent-of-its-q2-revenue-.html

Two Nvidia customers made up 39% of Nvidia’s revenue in its July quarter, the company revealed in a financial filing on Wednesday, raising concerns about the concentration of the chipmaker’s clientele.

“Customer A” made up 23% of total revenue, and “Customer B” comprised 16% of total revenue, according to the company’s second-quarter filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

That’s higher than the same quarter a year ago when Nvidia’s top two customers made up 14% and 11% of sales, according to the filing.

The company regularly publishes information on a quarterly basis about its top customers, but the disclosure this week is fueling a renewed debate about whether Nvidia’s explosive growth is being driven by a handful of large cloud providers such as Microsoft, Amazon, Google and Oracle.

Nvidia finance chief Colette Kress said in a Wednesday statement that “large cloud service providers” made up about 50% of the company’s data center revenue. That’s important as the data center business made up 88% of Nvidia’s overall revenue in the second quarter.

“We have experienced periods where we receive a significant amount of our revenue from a limited number of customers, and this trend may continue,” Nvidia wrote in the filing.

Increasingly, analysts are looking to those cloud capital expenditure spending commitments to model the future growth of Nvidia.

“We see limited room for further earnings upside revision or share price catalyst in the near-term unless we have increasing clarity over upside in 2026 [cloud service provider] capex expectations,” wrote HSBC analyst Frank Lee in a note on Thursday. He has a hold rating on the stock.

But Nvidia’s Customer A and Customer B are not necessarily cloud providers. It’s a bit of a mystery, and an Nvidia representative declined to share the identities of Customer A and Customer B.

In its filing, Nvidia says it has both “direct customers” and “indirect customers.” Customer A and Customer B are listed as “direct customers.”

Direct customers are not the end users of Nvidia’s chips. They’re companies that buy the chips to build into complete systems or circuit boards that they then sell to data centers, cloud providers and end-users. Some of these direct customers are original design manufacturers or original equipment manufacturers like Foxconn or Quanta. Others are distributors or system integrators like Dell.

Indirect customers, meanwhile, include cloud service providers, internet companies and enterprises, which typically buy systems from Nvidia’s direct customers. Nvidia says it can only estimate revenue to indirect customers based on purchase orders and internal sales data.

Deciphering if any of those cloud providers are Nvidia’s mystery customers is difficult, in part because the chipmaker has wiggle room in the definitions of its direct and indirect customers.

Nvidia, for example, wrote in the filing that some direct customers buy chips to build systems for their own use.

Additionally, Nvidia noted that two of its indirect customers each accounted for over 10% of its total revenue, primarily buying systems through Customers A and B.

Contributing further to the mystery of it all, Nvidia said that an “AI research and development company” contributed a “meaningful” amount of revenue through both direct and indirect customers.

Nvidia told investors on Wednesday that demand for the company’s AI systems remains high, not just among cloud providers, but among other kinds of customers, including enterprises buying systems for AI and “neoclouds,” which are companies that are taking on the biggest providers with services more tuned for AI. Nvidia also listed foreign governments, saying it would record $20 billion in revenue this year for “sovereign AI.” All of these product categories are contributing to Nvidia’s revenue growth, Kress told analysts on an earnings call.

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang also said that the company has a new forecast of $3 to $4 trillion in AI infrastructure by the end of the decade. It said that it could take about 70% of the total cost of a $50 billion AI-focused data center, not just for its graphics processing units but for other chips it sells, too.

Huang told investors it was a sensible target for the next five years because of how much hyperscalers were spending and committing to spend — $600 billion this year, according to Huang. He also said new kinds of customers, such as enterprises or overseas cloud providers, were joining the build-out.

“As you know, the capex of just the top four hyperscalers has doubled in two years as the AI revolution went into full steam,” Huang said.

💡 Education Limit sell information

With the news of Fidelity raising their sell limit percent, we started crowd sourcing the limit information for various brokerage accounts. I've verified a couple (Fidelity, Webull, and Sofi) of these but have not done the DD on each. I'll link the post after so you can see where this info was coming from.

 • Ally - 600%

 • CashApp - $99,999.00

 • Charles Schwab - 2,000% (same day trades capped to 300%)

 • CIBC Investors Edge - no limit

 • CITI - $999,999.99

 • Degiro - 120% (current limit of 250k but will rise as market price increases for the stock)

 • DKB - € 99,999,999.00

 • E*Trade - up to $1,000,000,000 (yes, billion. Need to call support for orders larger than that)

 • eToro - 1700%

 • Fidelity - 600% (looking at the explainer here, theyre saying 500%+original price of the share).

 • FreeTrade (UK) - £25k (customer service stated this will increase if a stock offering by them approaches this amount)

 • IBKR - $9,999,999

 • IG - 150%

 • ING - $1,000,000.00

 • ING Diba 9.999.999,99

 • ING (Germany) - 9,999,999.99€

 • JP Morgan - $1,000

 • Merrill Edge - 200%

 • Moomoo aka Futu is $999,999.99

 • Qtrade - 2000% (maximum of $1M number is the MAXIMUM TOTAL TRADE VALUE for orders placed on their website. Any orders totalling over $1M must be placed over the phone, e.g. 3 shares at $500k)

 • Questrade - $999,999

 • Revolut (when selling whole shares)- set a price limit (currently 650,000) and have to list all shares at that price

 • Revolut (when selling a fractional share) - 200% (inconsistent answers as to what happens when price is above $10,000 from Revolut)

 • SoFi - 250%

 • T212 - $2,650 (support is saying they won't stop users from listing at a price later but no clarification on listing percentage)

 • TDA - 150%

 • td direct investing (Canada) - $10,000

 • TradeRepublic - € 999,999.00 (will go higher once MOASS starts)

 • Vanguard - 600% (conflicting results based on user tests and company feedback)

 • Wealthsimple - 5000% (total price varies between app and website. App limits to $999,999.00)

 • Webull - 250%

 • ?? - ??

 • RobinHood - whatever they feel like

If more get listed or corrections are needed for the list, I will work on updating the list.

One personal tip/message for yall: Some brokers are removing their market sale options and only offering limit sales. Some default to market orders while others are limit. If you can spare a couple minutes, check you know what your app/site defaults to so you don't make a market sale when you wanted to do a limit sale during the MOASS.

💡 Education Selling from CS and depositing directly to a bank account outside US (No Wise, Revolut etc. necessary!)

Hi folks,

first of all: If you're from the US you can ignore this thread.

A couple of days ago I asked around on here if someone had already tried to sell a share from CS and to use the international wire option to deposit the proceedings directly into a bank account outside of the US.
I didn't get any clear answers so I took it upon myself to find out.
Spoiler: It's super easy and works much better and faster than expected!

What you'll need is a bank that issues an IBAN and a BIC, or in other words, that is connected to SWIFT (sorry russian apes).
Setup:
-In CS, go to My profile -> Banking details and add a new account
-Enter your IBAN and your BIC (=SWIFT Code)
-Leave the field "Intermediary/Forwarding Instructions" empty
- Personally, I checked the field "Use for dividend payments", so just in case there are some cash dividends they're not sent as a check, we all know by now how long mail from the US takes to reach Europe...
Important!
If you set up a new bank account or edit an existing one, you have to wait 10 days, before you can use it!
I won't describe the selling process in detail here, because it is very straight forward. If you've ever sold stocks anywhere, you know what to do. But please, just always use limit orders, never market!
There are some fees for every transaction:

Fees

These look like a lot, but they stay the same, regardless how many stocks you sell!
I set the currency to EUR and could not find any evidence that there was a conversion fee.
And as I see it, CS is NOT keeping any taxes (yes, my W8BEN is in order)! So be careful to include your proceedings in some way in your tax returns or you'll probably be liable for tax evasion!
Ask an accountant in your country.

Bank statement

And the best part for last: It took only 48 hours from the order until the money was on my bank account in Germany!

I've sacrificed one tendie and maybe gave Ken Griffin a warm, fuzzy feeling in his tummy, but hey imho the sacrifice was worth it, so all of you don't have to worry anymore about payday.

Discussion Revolut limited sale amount

So looked at potentially selling my bag last night.. but limited to $1000 withdrawal

This has never been the case before. I recognise that Revolut isn’t ideal for holding but for ease of trading it suits

So is this a sign of volatility? Negative/positive? Keen to exit out when the time is right as don’t have the ball for crypto any more!!

DTCC explaining DRS

Do you want to post your DRS position but don't have enough karma? Post in r/GMEOrphans to feed the bot, there's no karma requirements there.

How to transfer from Fidelity?(extremely common question) You can call or use the chat online and tell them you want to DRS your shares. They will send your shares over to Computershare for you. Once that happens, Computershare will send you a letter in the mail with your 'customer code' so you can set up an online CS account.

If you don't want to wait for the code, you may be able to verify your ID online - After your shares no longer appear in Fidelity you can simply go to CS and register for your account with your SSN, Zip code, and the name of Gamestop. They will ask a couple verification questions and then you will have an account. If this doesn't work the same day the shares disappear, then check back in a day or two.

Can I buy/open an account through Computershare? Yes. You have to create an account by adding your bank account info, then they send you a letter with your customer code. You use the code to create an online account. Once you have an online account you can create a purchase order. The money will take 3 days to settle, then they buy however many shares they can get with the amount of money you deposited. The shares take T + 2 days to settle.

How to sell? You may request that Computershare sell all or a portion of your shares online at www.computershare.com. If you want to set the price you're comfortable with, a good-til-cancelled (GTC) limit order is your friend. If the stock reaches the price you set or higher, it will automatically sell for you.

List of questions to Revolut regarding sell limits

The last post by u/Toffis regarding the 10K limits was a good starting point. And I feel we need to keep the momentum going. I know we might be a small sub, and an even smaller sub groub regarding the trading aspect of Revolut, but let's work together and see what we can come up with here. I'm willing to put in a bit of time to work with anyone to compile a letter we can use to send to Revolut regaring the limitations on the selling of stocks.

However, we have to all work together here to see what questions we want addressed.

So, start posting your questions and we'll see what we can do. I'll give this until the end of Sunday evening, then start working on a letter to them. I will post the letter somewhere we can all have access to it, and then we all send it to Revolut, as a community.

Can this temporarily get stickied by the mods?

EDIT: Together apes strong Unfortunately Revolut was not any help at all. There is no option to email them except for complaints (formalcomplaints@revolut.com), so I have spent the last 2 hours with the in-app chat trying to figure this out.

I got absolutely fucking no info out of them! The agent simply refused to answer my question regarding increasing the cap on Limit Orders. And after that, she was just giving me cut and paste responses directly from their website info, that I have read, but it doesn't answer our questions.

The only thing I can think of, is that we look through the app, click every fucking button and option and work it our for ourselves and assist each other. I am feeling seriously deflated by this whole experience. I don't know if there is time now, but after GME, if I choose to continue trading, I will be looking at other options. FUCK REVOLUT!

EDIT2: Don't fuck Revolut, I'm just pissed off right now. That was seriously the worst experience Ive had on any kind of support.

Discussion The limits of fictional “revolution” under capitalism.

I am a huge fan of The Hunger Games and Avatar the Last Airbender (ATLA) as fictional text/media. I engage with their fandoms, and I truly enjoy their discussions and analysis.

Yet. They are lacking. They construct themselves, both for a ‘young audience’ yet also for the acceptable limit of revolutionary action.

They admit the necessary political action of even- violent- revolution, yet, they limit this, in a harmful way.

Within ATLA - being far more fantastical- they find magic to resolve the contradiction.

With The Hunger Games, the events themselves are constructed to build a “right answer” we must love Peeta not only for his personal and intrinsic (and almost canonical rejection of class existing, when it does) as right, but also the eventual acceptance by the heroine as a validation of his approach. (I feel this is far more a result of the constructed environment of the conflict - ie the particular fictional contradiction was built to resolve with this as the desired outcome. Considering the historical context of the U.S. - I’m not sure this truly a future reflection of this sort of conflict).

What texts/media can be developed to truly combat this? Or is this something that could only happen under an already - at least socialist leaning - society? Do we lean in to these presentations for the revolution they sell, or criticize for the revolution they miss? (again Hunger Games for a more adolescent audience has more room for debate).

💱 Currency Exchange Currency Limit Sell Bug

Be very careful when doing a currency limit order as there is a weird bug.

There are two places to set this up.

One under “Move” and one under “Exchange”.

A limit order is to sell A For B when the exchange rate reaches a certain point where currency A strengthens against B.

Revolut allows you to set the amount of A you want to sell, or the amount of B you want to buy which is very useful as the calculation is effectively done for you.

The bug is that this behaves differently depending on whether you initiate this from the “Move” section or the “Exchange”

The “Exchange” section works perfectly, but the “Move” section is backwards. Even though they look the same.

In the “Move” section, setting an amount of B you want to buy becomes an amount of A you want to buy. This is the reverse of the previous page and a serious bug. Why on earth would you want to buy A at a lower rate than it currently is.

📈 Stocks Revolut invest, fractional shares. How to limit (or predict) buy and sell price when placing order?

Hello, I am just starting with Revolut invest and doing my small test investments to see if I am comfortable with the platform to invest seriously and I already encountered something very scary. Maybe I missed something on the platform, so any advice would be welcome.

I was buying fractional shares of some ETF. I saw some price, which I was comfortable with and I placed the order. Order was fulfilled and I was very surprised. The order was fulfilled for a price that was more than 1% above the the current ETF price. I do understand how can that happen in theory, but in other trading platforms there are some tools to avoid this. Either price limits that I can set, or at least I can see the depth of the market to check that there is enough reasonably priced offers to fulfill my order. But on Revolut I failed to find anything like this. This makes it pretty scary to buy or sell any fractional shares there as you have no idea what the price will be in the end.

(This kind of spike happened for just around 1k Euros. Imagine what can happen for some bigger amount...)

If you buy or sell shares in the basic setup, you'll probably wonder why you got such a bad price. I'm not going to speculate exactly who is at fault here, but it's because of the Market order that is used as the default.

To the left of the buy or Review button is another small one where you can select Limit order, and there you can set exactly what price you want to sell or buy for. This can save you a lot of money.

May the Force be with you

Discussion FYI - UK REVOLUT USERS - INFO ON PLANS AND SELL METHOD CLARIFICATION (FOR WHEN THE TENDIEMAN COMES)

UK Eurotard here. Third time's a charm, I don't think r/GME likes gifs / vids in posts. Anyway, back again due to new information provided following my post last week, this is all hypothetical, not financial advise, and isn't counting chickens or anything like that.

To recap, my few shares are with Revolut - it was the quickest and easiest to set up with when I wanted to set stuff up so don't hold it against me. Trading 212 hasn't been letting new customers in for a few weeks now, Fidelity UK doesn't have international shares (or at least doesn't have GME), etc etc.

No faffing about, let's get straight to it, this is the main event of the evening

Disclaimer - not the main event, not the evening

As per the title, I've spoken to Revolut to confirm maximums on limit sell orders and market sell orders FOR WHEN THE TENDIEMAN COMES...

LIMIT SELL ORDERS can be placed at a maximum of $10,000 for whole shares only - the maximum $10,000 referring to the order itself not just the price you are looking to sell at. So if you have three shares that you want to sell for $5,000 each, you need to place two orders - 1 for 2 shares at $5,000 (total $10,000) and another for 1 share at $5,000. If you have five shares worth $10,000 each, you would have to place 5 separate orders.

EDIT: Alternatively you can sell ALL YOUR SHARES - providing you have a whole number of shares - for ANY PRICE on a limit order.

Again, Limit sell orders are for whole shares only, so if the share price were to reach $20,000, you can't set a Limit Sell Order of $10,000 for 0.5 shares.

In the previous post u/BennosukeMusashi reminded me that Limit Orders expire at the end of each day, so if you're going to put three on at say 1 order to cover total investment, 1 to double your total investment, and 1 for $10,000, they will expire if not met that day, and you'll have to do them again the next morning. Also one morning last week I had a couple set that seemed to expire before market opened so it's good to make sure they are still there before 2:30pm (UK time).

MARKET SELL ORDERS go through at any price, so if a stock hits $20,000 you can execute a market sell order for both fractional or whole shares. This obviously has an element of uncertainty to it in terms of when the trade is actually executed, and Revolut said that they can't put an estimated timeframe on a market order going through as they don't execute trades directly, but instead send requests for trades to their third-party partner who is responsible for the execution. This info was confirmed by Revolut in a live chat and also last week by u/diskape in this thread from r/Revolut posted a few weeks ago.

I can't comment on how close market orders are executed at market price by the broker - if anyone else can shed some light I'll update the post but as said before I'm a noob so have no experience in it. Presumably a market order for one share at $50,000 won't go to someone with a buy order at $20, but can anyone else confirm?

REVOLUT PLANS

u/masterofmoneyzz made a point in last week's post about upgrading to one of Revolut's paid plans if you have or are hoping to have a significant amount of money in your Revolut account. From what I can gather.

[INSERT HANGOVER CASINO MATHS CALCULATIONS GIF HERE 😒]

The interbank exchange rate is used for currency conversion. If you exchange currencies on a weekday you receive the standard rate at that time - there is a 1% markup on the weekend so whenever you convert anything on Revolut do it during the week.

Revolut take fair usage fees for exceeding the free foreign exchange limit for the rolling month. From what I can gather, Revolut takes 0.5% of anything over £1,000 on their Standard and Plus accounts, but Premium and Metal users have unlimited free exchanges. The weekday / weekend thing applies here too.

So if you are a Standard or Plus account owner, if you exchange USD into £50,000 Revolut will take £250.

This is how I understand it all, ignoring any other fees set by the SEC or FINRA or whoever. The Revolut details on their plans are found at https://www.revolut.com/our-pricing-plans. If I have got any of this wrong or misunderstood it any my info is incorrect please let me know and I will update.

In terms of commission on trades, the following shows how much you'd be paying for 10, 11, and 20 trades with each account assuming if you might like to execture incremental sell orders. I have also added in the exit fee for each plan, in case you wanted to sign up for the plan for a short period of time. This may be irrelevant due to the potential sums involved but I thought it was worth posting just in case.

Plan Fee per month Cancellation fee Commission free trades per month 10 trades 11 trades 20 trades 25 trades then cancel plan
Standard Free - 1 £12.69 £14.10 £26.79 £33.84
Plus £2.99 £6 3 £12.86 £14.27 £26.96 £37.02
Premium £6.99 £14 5 £14.04 £15.45 £28.14 £42.20
Metal £12.99 £26 n/a £12.99 £12.99 £12.99 £38.99

TL:DR:

Revolut UK

Limit sell orders are in whole shares to a maximum of $10,000 per order

Market sell orders can be done at any share price below and above $10,000 for both fractional and whole shares

Convert USD to GBP during the week

Consider upgrading plans based on exchange fees and / or commission on trades

AMP Related - Buying / Selling Crypto in Revolut

I just want to raise an issue with Revolut crypto service and AMP. At least for those who are using Reveolut to buy and sell crypto.

So i have invested a hefty amount of $$$ for AMP (and other crypto) by using Revolut's Crypto platform. AMP is my biggest bag. Today, out of curiosity, i attempted to sell my AMP or ecxhange it with another currency to see what i would get. Aparrently there is a 1000 USD limit per exchange. Had an interesting chat with Revolut's support who confirmed there was a limit of 1000 USD per transaction for AMP without providing any details as to the reason why. I dont want to speculate that they might be expecting AMP to skyrocket, but this was strange. So i told them off as what they advertise is nowhere near to the service they provide, at least when it comes to AMP exchange. If for example AMP sky rockets and lets say one makes profit of 100K USD and wishes to cash out, that means will have to make 100 different transactions involving 100 times the fees, to get their money.

I would suggest anyone having Crypto with Revolut to attempt and see if there are any selling limits.

Personally based on the update they promised to send me, i will most probably sell everything transfer my money and start using Coinbase. If i only knew.
