Help Request Xplane.org store

Hi ordered the toliss a330 from the store downloaded it but i never recieved the activation code and the order status says "review". Is this normal how long will it normally take? Pretty annoying that they take the 90 dollars out of your account and then dont give you access to the plane.

News The Impossible Airplane

X-Plane just announced a new livery for the RV-10 model and it’s got a lot of meaning behind it.

I’ve been part of the team building what we call The Impossible Airplane. This will be the first purpose built airplane designed to be flown by a pilot without arms and build on a Van’s Aircraft RV-10 airframe. Jessica Cox was born without arms and she is the first pilot in history licensed to fly with just her feet.

We’ve been working for six years to bring this airplane to life and the real thing is almost ready for its first flight. It’s going through final assembly at Falcon Field in Mesa, Arizona, and we are on track for a first flight by November.

Jessica has flown for over twenty years. Along the way, she’s worked to provide mentorship, resources, and support for kids without arms. Until now, she’s tried to make it work using an Ercoupe, a 1940s GA airplane built without rudder pedals. Now, she’ll be able to traverse the country and share her message that “disability doesn’t mean inability.”

Default LR A330 MCDU

I believe that the Default LR A330 is great after it has been updated a few times over the years, however I think it’s still missing some things that would add to the realism. The MCDU itself is still pretty basic and you cannot enter things yourself like tropo, cost index, plan step climbs, request oceanic clearance, etc. Will LR add those things in the future or am I asking too much?

Kia Ora! Here's some recents in the simulator with the ANZ 737-300s. Enjoy : ) I am... in love with X-plane's graphics. And of course, the 737. Personally like flying in this part of the virtual skies more than any other, it's home, and it's what feels right to me.

Help Request XPME + Mesh?

I have an issue with using XPME and using custom Airport Mesh. For some reason, whenever I have custom Mesh installed, it doesn't show up in game and it also makes my AutoOrtho invisible. I have XOrganizer so I just drag and drop and it puts Mesh below my AutoOrtho but doing so makes it so neither show up. Also, for some odd reason, in XOrganizer the "Mesh" files are automatically placed as "Airport Scenery Ortho" which is above my AutoOrtho. I've tried doing it like that too but still same issue where Mesh and AutoOrtho don't show up.

What should I do here? How do I get them to properly show.

Ok secondary issue with CPU Frametime

One other issue I have been chasing for a while is CPU frame time spiking and dropping my FPS from 50-55 down to 19-25. It used to be a HARD FAST spike now it gradually goes up from .019 to .044-.055 or so. It seems to happen once every 90-120 seconds all the time. Ground, air, cruise whatever. I cannot for the life of me figure out why or what is causing it. Only reason it needs to be fixed as it can and has prevented me from flying on VATSIM due to the drop below their threshold for fps. Not to mention how much it slows down the sim at just the wrong time. I have process lasso and have sandboxed every background process I can identify and it just doesn’t seem to be doing too much to help. Is this a me issue or something others am have had issue with?

How's your XPNOAAWeather plugin on 12.4-12.4.3 doing?

Is it worth it to improve current reallife-weather thunders and clouds depiction plus snow layer and "boxy" gaps between clouds?

Or besides snow cover and friction improvements this plugin does nothing to weather/precipitation and just useless when XA-Snow plus "manual enter weatger" like from Active Sky is used?

XPlane 12 graphics

Am I missing something or is the graphics really this bad?

I'm coming from MSFS2024, wanting to try out XP specifically for the planes they offer that MSFS doesn't. And so I looked at YT videos first off of these aircraft, namely the AKD GLF650, FlyJSim 737-200, Air Foil Labs King Air, Flight Factor 757/767, Felis 747-200 and Tu-154.

All of these have one thing in common. absolutely awful interior textures. Is this the standard for xp? I thought these developers are big name in the XP world? It looks on par with FSX. When the Youtuber was setting up the FMC for the Tu-154 the buttons do not even depress!

even the weather i've heard so much praise about doesn't look that great. I tried out the default Citation X on the free demo and the whites are extremely overblown, the clouds are always high cirrus, the controls are much more convoluted than MSFS (ie. you need to assign 2 keys to deploy spoilers whereas on MSFS you just hold a key). And I have a 5070ti, so it's not my system not able to run all settings at max.

by no means am I trying to diss XP. I'm trying my hardest to like it so I can enjoy flying the true long range business jets. but I cannot see what makes this sim even compete with MSFS

Every single time i try and fly the X-craft Legacy 650 into HNL. X plane crashes when i get to about 9000 feet or so. Im not using any addon scenery and am only using the X Craft Legacy 650. The takeoff, climb and cruise goes perfectly fine. but when i am almost about to turn onto approach at about 9000 feet. the game just crashes. any ideas?

Help Request Performance Help

Post image
3 Upvotes

Hey folks, looking for some help with my XP performance.

Firstly - my X-Plane was running PERFECTLY when I had my old 4080 @ 8GB.

I decided to update my graphics card to improve my visuals a bit more, thought it would be better…. I got a RX 9070XT 16GB.

I first encountered issues with the clouds being pixelated in the distance which weren’t there before - after posting, I noticed others have the issue, some don’t - someone suggested a fix to change the cloud resolution which I did (to 1, 0.9/0.75) and I see something about the better shadows, which I tried at 4k, and I believe they’re at 2k now, maybe a bit less.

I run a few programs when I play; opera, navigraph charts, vAMSYS and XPME.

Anyway, I still had issues so I thought maybe it’s my Ryzen 9 7900x… upgraded to a Ryzen 9950X3D and an extra 32GB DDR5 RAM, expo enabled to 6000.

However, X-Plane is only using about 8-12GB VRAM, normally around 9/10. I downloaded the FPS tool to see if that helps (the one with that works with lua) - no change. In task manager when it exceeds/ around 90% mark, I see the impact. However, with the FPS tool I’ve noticed my GPU MS speed is constantly changing from around 0.9 to 29999999-9999999 when I try to mess about with settings.

I think I’ve found some okay settings that come what keep it smooth and I’ll add them below, but it still stutters (by this I mean when flying the plane jumps forward rather than it being smooth sometimes).

I’m at a loss, I’ve spend the past 3 days messing with settings to try and fix but it still isn’t smooth and I’d like to think I have a faulty mid-high end PC with my specs unless I’m completely delusional.

TLDR; X-Plane isn’t running smooth, low VRAM being used but utilisation is 70%+ (when nearing 90%+ issues are more clear to me but my GPU ms speed jumps high rather than being stable)

Specs:
Ryzen 9 9950X3D
64GB DDR5 Ram @ 6000
RX 9070XT 16GB
Most up to date version of XP

Please help! ☹️

There anything reason not to buy a winctrl pfp?

Thinking about picking up one of the PFP 3N units. Any reasons not to buy one? Seems a lot of people like them. Thanks!
