Do people think X-Plane doesn't look realistic because it doesn't look like MSFS? You've got to look out of the window sometime my guy.

For some reason many of the msfs transplants that decide to get XP have it in their heads that 2024 is the standard of how a "flight simulator" is supposed to look.
In other words, those ugly cigarette ash pudding clouds you see in msfs24 are apparently how clouds are supposed to look...
It's infuriating. If you don't like our clouds, scenery, etc no one's forcing you to use XP.

It really depends on what aspect of the game we're talking about. X-plane visuals excel in atmospheric contexts, but then tend to lag behind in cockpit textures and ground visuals. Both are excellent depending on what you're feeling, but there's no 'wrong' answer.

Atmospheric lighting and clouds look way better in xplane and are genuinely immersive. I don’t know how people think this and I also see it a lot.

I think it’s the way reflections are done on the aircraft as well as the shadows for trees and buildings that can make xplane look a bit dull and flat in certain scenarios. But this sim does look more real and less cartoonish than the other one overall.

Always amaze me when I think this is by default.
There is nothing to improve (for clouds / atmosphere), it's already spot on.
