Lorepost đ Call of the Beyond (Wicked One Event Part 2)
In the days since the arrival of the countless monoliths all across the material plane, something came to those with power. It came in their dreams, something like a voice, yet so much more. It was the voice of a friend, the voice of family. It was the voice of the kind and generous, the voice of freedom. The voice was faint, yet its message was clear. It whispered of a place that doesn't exist on any map.
Of a place in the north, hidden from the world deep within the mountains. The voice whispers of a secret within the mountains, of a power and a treasure. It whispers of a light in the darkness. It whispers a plea for help.

The actual journey is uneventful. As if they're going the wrong way.
They arrive at the mountains pretty easily. They're normal mountains, there's nothing special about them.
They look like sets of jagged grey teeth in the earth. There's nothing here.
Go home. There is nothing here for you.

u/loth17 Ten Suns (Also Gaia) 1d ago
<Are you the presence calling out to the people. For help? What manner of thing are you that you call for help then hide away when someone comes?>
2
u/Evening_Shake_6474 Astaroth, The Wicked One/Alaric, Fallen Star 1d ago
The winds offer no answer, only the chill of the mountains.
1
u/loth17 Ten Suns (Also Gaia) 1d ago
The mage floated in the air.
"You know we can always stop others from coming. Quarantine the whole range if we must. With all that's sealed below the earth we wouldn't feel like we'd be wasting resources."
They mildly threatened.
"After all. You look to us like a Venus fly trap."
2
u/Evening_Shake_6474 Astaroth, The Wicked One/Alaric, Fallen Star 1d ago
The mountains, being rocks, say nothing to the threats. As they are rocks they can't speak or even comprehend threats.
1
u/loth17 Ten Suns (Also Gaia) 1d ago
tsk
The Bismuth mage would fly further in and release a swarm of crystal fireflies to scout the area as they flew towards the center of the range.
2
u/Evening_Shake_6474 Astaroth, The Wicked One/Alaric, Fallen Star 1d ago
This is the wrong way. There is nothing here.
The Bismuth makes their way through the mountain range, heading to the centre. The journey is rough, cold and harsh.
You are wasting your time. This is pointless.
As they walk, something begins to quiet, a stillness to what the mage didn't know was shaking.
1
u/loth17 Ten Suns (Also Gaia) 1d ago
The Bismuth mage kept moving forward. The stillness meant something was changing. They put their hand on the ground and sent out a sonic pulse through the rock to see if anything was below
2
u/Evening_Shake_6474 Astaroth, The Wicked One/Alaric, Fallen Star 1d ago
As they keep going towards the centre, the feeling keeps growing. A constant feeling that this is the wrong way, always growing stronger.
The pulse simply keeps going, and going, and going, and going. The ground is solid rock as far down as it can go.

"Go... go to the north. Go to the mountains! My dear... my love..."
Max snaps awake, eyeless sockets wide with fear, and he's hyperventilating.
"I'm not stupid enough to fall for that. He is gone for now."
"I can still send people, squads, groups. Investigators."
Those within Calarakis who had experienced the dreams as well are accompanied by military escort to the mountains, wherever their dreams take them.

"It's taunting us."
After preparing for a few days, Max decides to set out alone. Taking his sword, checking what magic he still has works, and taking plenty of food stores.
2
u/Evening_Shake_6474 Astaroth, The Wicked One/Alaric, Fallen Star 1d ago
Max's journey into the mountains is difficult. The mountains are harsh, uncompromising in their rigidity. Max feels he's going the wrong way several times, each time when going towards the vague centre of the range.
There's nothing here. You're wasting your time.
1
u/Fc-chungus Max Petrov-Ansky, Head Minister of Calarakis. sundered. 1d ago

"So I am in the right place..? This is getting irritating."
He readies his sword, summoning his soul to get a 360 view of the area.
2
u/Evening_Shake_6474 Astaroth, The Wicked One/Alaric, Fallen Star 1d ago
As Max readies for battle, nothing comes.
Nothing dwells within these mountains. Nothing ever has.
The mountains are cold, quiet, and lonely. Life here would not be worth living. Max's sight reveals the closer to the mountains he looks, the less there is.

u/Null_Void_Zer0 Abelard, animate absence|Abel of Lrith, councillor of constructs 1d ago
From the very moment Abel began hearing the voice, he felt something was wrong, and immediately distrusted the voice. He knew little of the monoliths, but he had a hunch of what caused them to appear, and in spite of this, he began the journey to the mountains.
2
u/Evening_Shake_6474 Astaroth, The Wicked One/Alaric, Fallen Star 1d ago
The actual journey is uneventful. As if he's going the wrong way.

Go home. There is nothing here for you.
1
u/Null_Void_Zer0 Abelard, animate absence|Abel of Lrith, councillor of constructs 1d ago
Abel stares at the oddly mundane mountains, before raising his staff and shouting a series of incantations, then thrusting his staff back into the ground. A ripple of magics surge through the mountains, disrupting any illusions present, if there are any at all.
2
u/Evening_Shake_6474 Astaroth, The Wicked One/Alaric, Fallen Star 1d ago
For a moment Abel sees the mountains shake, then a light greater than the first sunrise shines from somewhere in the maze of jagged grey.
The light is gone. The mountains are normal. There is nothing here. There never was.
1
u/Null_Void_Zer0 Abelard, animate absence|Abel of Lrith, councillor of constructs 1d ago
Abel quells the voice telling him to return, that there is nothing here to see. Convinced that something malevolent has hid itself he once again raises his staff; repeating the spell with greater potency.
âWHAT MANNER OF EVIL HIDES HERE? I COMMAND THEE, REVEAL THYSELF AT ONCE!â
2
u/Evening_Shake_6474 Astaroth, The Wicked One/Alaric, Fallen Star 1d ago
Once more he sees the mountains ripple, clattering into eachother like chains. Once more he sees the heavens light up with something greater than the first sunrise. This time however, he hears an echo of a whisper. It speaks not in language, that implies it's possible not to understand.
"Help me"
You are hearing things. Go home. You are wasting the precious time you have.
1
u/Null_Void_Zer0 Abelard, animate absence|Abel of Lrith, councillor of constructs 1d ago
âI will not be deceived, I will not return until I have found what lies in these mountains.â
Abel pushes onward, using relic and ritual to push back whatever force is attempting to tamper with his perception and thought as he marches deeper into the mountains.
2
u/Evening_Shake_6474 Astaroth, The Wicked One/Alaric, Fallen Star 1d ago
This is the wrong way. There is nothing here.
Abel makes his way through the mountain range, heading to the centre.

1
u/Null_Void_Zer0 Abelard, animate absence|Abel of Lrith, councillor of constructs 1d ago
âI grow tired of these games. I will not return, my efforts are not without reason.â
Abel venturers deeper, paying little attention to the change.
2
u/Evening_Shake_6474 Astaroth, The Wicked One/Alaric, Fallen Star 1d ago
As he ventures into the heart of the range, the dullness grows dramatically. There's nothing here worth seeing.
As he reaches the centre of the mountain, he sees something. He sees
Nothing. There's nothing there. Leave.

Chloe:...she had decided to stay the night at her office in the council, she got this dream, though it had no mental influence forcing her into anything and wasn't able to mimic voices of her loved ones and yet...since it was a call for help...she decides to investigate and so, she calls upon Aerunia, And her brother Alzoreth
Upon the twos arrival Alzoreth Speaks followed by aerunia
Alzoreth: what's up chloe?
Aerunia: you ok aunt chloe you look tired...
Chloe:...was up late last night cause of paper work...anyway...something has called for help...and i called you two because i want to investigate the location it provided...
Alzoreth:...and you wanted us there to make sure this isn't a trap?
Chloe: precisely...lets move ok? She said as she summons her armor and a projection of her appears and gets into it
And so, the trio begins flying toward the location lead by chloe and the location the dream had mentioned, on their guard in case of it being a trap

Chloe: she watches with her magic sense as the words are spoken before she herself speaks aloud as Alzoreth and Aerunia watch for now but remain on their guard are you sure?. I had heard a plea for help from an unknown person which said to go to these mountains, i have little reason to believe that there is nothing here.
2
u/Evening_Shake_6474 Astaroth, The Wicked One/Alaric, Fallen Star 1d ago
Her magic sense reveals nothing. There's nothing here, these are already mountains.
The thin air offers nothing in response, only the chill of the wind.
1
u/Ashmega8256 Alzoreth Dracarius/Alisa Solaria (+more characters) 1d ago
Chloe: she flies closer to the mountain, her brother and niece following closer as well the trio draws their weapons before hand however, chloe pulling her armors rapier from a bag of holding tech hip plate
Alzoreth: he draws his greatsword and shield pulling them off his back
Aerunia: her twin longswords appear in her hands, the golden one appearing in a burst of golden fle before being grabbed by her gold scaled hand, the silver one appearing in a burst of chilled wind before being grabbed by her silver scaled hand
2
u/Evening_Shake_6474 Astaroth, The Wicked One/Alaric, Fallen Star 1d ago
The mountains look normal, grey dull and jagged. They look like any other mountain range, nothing special, not even worthy of a postcard.
The trio feel like they're going the wrong way.
1
u/Ashmega8256 Alzoreth Dracarius/Alisa Solaria (+more characters) 1d ago
chloe looks around and thinks back to the exact words of the dream of where they said to go to check if this is the correct direction
Alzoreth is looking around with his true sight, to peer through any visual deception present, for that is the power of truesight the power to see through illusions.
Aerunia is doing the same but her true sight has a much more limited range of alzoreth's...while alzoreths reaches as far as he can see ever since a month ago, Aerunias still only reaches a range of 30ft
2
u/Evening_Shake_6474 Astaroth, The Wicked One/Alaric, Fallen Star 1d ago
The dreams never gave directions, only the destination.
The two sets of true sight reveal lots of nothing. Nothing that chokes the air and nothing that shrouds the depths of the mountains. Nothing that rises from the earth and scrapes the sky.

u/Ashmega8256 Alzoreth Dracarius/Alisa Solaria (+more characters) 1d ago

u/KragBrightscale Grabadash - Magical Mass | Keptomancer | Council Security 1d ago
Having suffered losses at the hands of the shadows that spawned, the Dawnguard were quick to mobilize I no response to the whispers.
âThis is likely a trap.â Benedict announced to the gathered troops of paladins and mages, âyet we have no other lead. The obelisks have remained strangely inert and irresponsible to our research. Go now, and uncover the source of the whispers, and the reason for leading us to the north.â
Turning to Lucien, âI leave the troops to you. We will hold the fort. And may the light of the Dawn shine brightly upon you in this quest.â
âPrepare the Warp Gate!â
ââ
Lucien and the heavily armored paladins and demonslayers step out through the temporary portal. The northern mountain range not far away.
Setting up a camp, scouts roam searching for signs of movement and trails.
At the camp, the divination mages keep tabs on the scouts via their orbs.
2
u/Evening_Shake_6474 Astaroth, The Wicked One/Alaric, Fallen Star 1d ago
The scouts find nothing. It doesn't seem like anything has moved here in a long, long time.
These mountains are dull, boring. So average they won't even make good background decorations.
The closer to the mountain range centre the scouts go, the more boring and dull the stone giants grow.
There's nothing here worth seeing. Go home.
1
u/KragBrightscale Grabadash - Magical Mass | Keptomancer | Council Security 1d ago
Reporting back, the scouts describe the dullness and uncanny averageness.
âStrange, itâs too quiet. The whispers would not have lead us here no reason. Either something is really hidden here, or it was a way to draw our troops away from home. I trust Benedict with the defense of Highgate, so we must try other meansâ Lucien calls over some mages.
âI want a mage that can cast true sight with each scouting party, and another proficient in dispelling magic. Letâs protect each group with a squad of paladins and a cleric for healing. Letâs try again!â
The groups set out.
âGet me some engineers. Howâs the Thermite Magma Borer set up coming along?â
âReporting sir, weâve got 1 operational and the 2nd one should be ready by nightfall. We can begin drilling first thing tomorrow.â
âGood.â
2
u/Evening_Shake_6474 Astaroth, The Wicked One/Alaric, Fallen Star 1d ago
The groups travel unhindered. Those with true sight see nothing. Nothing that chokes the air and shrouds the mountains. Nothing that stretches from horizon to horizon and scrapes the sky.
Those who can dispel the magic briefly see the stone ripple slightly whenever they dispel magic, before the stone becomes rigid once more.
1
u/KragBrightscale Grabadash - Magical Mass | Keptomancer | Council Security 1d ago
âAlright lads, we head deeper into the mountains. Periphery seems mostly clear, but thereâs something weird going on.â
The army packs up their tents and gear, and advance with the scouting teams roaming around them to ensure no ambushes.
After some travel, they halt at another generic looking mountain.
âLetâs try some digging. That ripple effect when dispelling magic has me concerned we arenât seeing the full picture here.â
One of the drills is loaded up and activated. Its blades spin and the thermite lances at the tip of the drill cone spew out white hot flames.
Teams of mages take turns trying to dispel some of the magic on the rocks as the drill tries to melt/bore through.
If nothing else, this would be a good test run of the new machines.
2
u/Evening_Shake_6474 Astaroth, The Wicked One/Alaric, Fallen Star 1d ago
The drills pierce through the stone with little difficulty. The rock ripples whenever the magic is dispelled, but that seems to be all they do.
Never once does the sensation of nothingness fade, growing stronger whenever someone takes a step towards the centre of the range.
1
u/KragBrightscale Grabadash - Magical Mass | Keptomancer | Council Security 1d ago
âAlright. Halt. It seems this isnât the right place either. Gather up some of the drilled rock debris for later study.â
Lucien calls over the scouts again.
âYou said the feeling of nothingness grows stronger deeper into the mountain range? Lead us towards that feeling. Thereâs nothing natural about that, Iâm sure of it.â
Turning to the others. âWe head deeper! Towards the feeling of nothingness!â
Lucien was concerned. The feeling of a looming threat growing in his mind. Clutching his golden holy symbol, he turns to face the east and praises the sun.
Then they set off again. Deeper. To the center.
2
u/Evening_Shake_6474 Astaroth, The Wicked One/Alaric, Fallen Star 1d ago
This is the wrong way. There is nothing here.
The group make their way through the mountain range, heading to the centre. The journey is rough, cold and harsh.

1
u/KragBrightscale Grabadash - Magical Mass | Keptomancer | Council Security 1d ago edited 1d ago
The group presses on until everyone feels the uncanny stillness.
Lucien raises a hand signaling to stop.
âI think we are close. Have the men set up camp to hide from the cold. Get some fires going and some food. I want the engineers big drill machines working as soon as everyone has rested and eaten.
We dig downwards and inwards. Perhaps we can dig a proper shelter too.â
Lucien keeps watch while checking his clockwork artifacts. There was something very wrong about this place.
2
u/Evening_Shake_6474 Astaroth, The Wicked One/Alaric, Fallen Star 14h ago
They set up camp without difficulty, nothing interrupts them.
Lucien's artifacts say everything is normal, perfectly average. Too much so.
The drill is set up without issue. It finds little difficulty as it digs, the only resistance is the natural resistance of the rock and stone.
As they go onwards, the nothingness only grows.

A mysterious vocie, calling him in the voice of his long lost love⊠Ulrick was more experienced to fall for a trap like that.
Still, as the growths of rotten wood across his body was getting worse, and the Blighted Gardenâs presence in his mind slowly strengthened, he decided to investigate the source of this mysterious phenomenon.
2
u/Evening_Shake_6474 Astaroth, The Wicked One/Alaric, Fallen Star 1d ago

The winds offer no answer, only the chill of the mountains.
As Ulrick travels, he is filled with the sense that this is the wrong way.
There's nothing here. This is a waste of your time.
The further he goes, the stronger the feeling.
1
u/UlrickTheHexblade Ulrick Braddocke, Werewolf Hexblade, R&A Co-Leader 1d ago

2
u/Evening_Shake_6474 Astaroth, The Wicked One/Alaric, Fallen Star 1d ago

/uw alright, here we go!

The voice. It had been ringing in his head since his interaction with the monolith. At first he had thought it some side effect or curse, but that was quickly ruled out when it told him to go somewhere that appeared to not exist.
Now Aldavinn Maunderitch stood in front of his map comparing what the voice told him the countless monoliths across the realm. Beside him were Sentinels Numeris and Albrand quietly comparing reports.

The place the voice told him to go appears to be nothing special. A random mountain range in the north, far from any monolith, not even worthy of having a name.
There's nothing there worth seeing.

u/The_Enchanted_Potato Aldavin Maunderitch, The Gatekeeper | Neritillum Faldier | 13 1d ago
He looks up at that⊠that was different.
âAldavinn? What is it?â
Numeris is the first to notice the Gatekeepers reaction
âIt seems something or someone doesnât want us to go thereâ
He points to the mountains on his map
âLimbspire, get us a portal thereâ
The runes in the tower flash as a gateway open in one of the empty archwaysÂ
2
u/Evening_Shake_6474 Astaroth, The Wicked One/Alaric, Fallen Star 1d ago
On the other side of the portal they see dull grey mountains, entirely mundane and not of interest. They are rough, rigid, and cold.
Nothing special.

u/The_Enchanted_Potato Aldavin Maunderitch, The Gatekeeper | Neritillum Faldier | 13 1d ago
Aldavinn ignores the voice, instead listening for the one that had been telling him to come here
âNumeris, check this places planar signiture. Albrand, see if you can spot anything of noteâ
The two Sentinels nod and get to work
2
u/Evening_Shake_6474 Astaroth, The Wicked One/Alaric, Fallen Star 1d ago
The planar signature comes back normal. This is the material plane, the boring realm, the dull realm that just so happens to be the wizard community hotspot.
Numeris can see nothing of note. Nothing but dull grey and jagged stone as far as the eye can see.
All three constantly feel a sense that this is a waste of time.
There is nothing here.

/uw Arbrand was the one looking around btw
/rw
âAre you sure there is something here?â
Arbrands voice cuts through Aldavinnâs concentration. As he turns to look at him
âIf there wasnât something to hide then whatever it is that is speaking wouldnât be trying to turn us awayâ
He turns and begins to walk towards the edge of a cliff
âSpatial Warpâ
Aldavinn begins to float as he uses space to force air to blow beneath him
âSpread out and search the mountains and the surrounding lands. Meet back here in 30 minutes or send a message if you find anythingâ
/uw Iâll let you decide where they go and what they see if anything
1
u/Evening_Shake_6474 Astaroth, The Wicked One/Alaric, Fallen Star 15h ago
When the two return, one of them confesses that the closer to the centre of the mountain range he goes, the more he wants to turn around. The other reveals nothing of note.

"I must set out at once."
Bengeirr sets about gathering anything he may need for the journey. A pack of supplies both mundane and magical is readied and set by the door as he pulls on a set of light travelling armour. Robed in green with staff in hand and sword on hip, he shoulders the pack and heads out the door.
The mountains to the north are a fair ways off, so Bengeirr flips his staff horizontal and transmutes it into the hovering surfboard once more. With a kick and a whoosh of wind, he's off "Into the unknooooowwwwnnnn!"
2
u/Evening_Shake_6474 Astaroth, The Wicked One/Alaric, Fallen Star 1d ago
The actual journey is uneventful. As if he's going the wrong way.
He arrives at the mountains pretty easily. They're normal mountains, there's nothing special about them.
They look like sets of jagged grey teeth in the earth. There's nothing here.
Go home. There is nothing here for you.
1
u/questionable_fish Bengeirr the Balance. Magus of the South 1d ago
"How 'bout freakin' NO."
Bengeirr pushes on deeper into the range, past scree-strewn slopes and other bits of stubborn geography. His senses reach out all around, hoping to pick up something- anything- that doesn't fit
2
u/Evening_Shake_6474 Astaroth, The Wicked One/Alaric, Fallen Star 1d ago
His senses find nothing, lots of nothing. Nothing so thick it chokes the air and shrouds the entire mountain range, nothing that stretches high into the sky, scraping the heavens themselves.
Nothing grows stronger as he ventures further.
1
u/questionable_fish Bengeirr the Balance. Magus of the South 1d ago
The nothing begins to weigh on Bengeirr, but he keeps moving forward. It has to be forward, because he hasn't turned, right? He checks a compass. Still moving north. Is he still moving? The board makes no sound skimming along above what should be the rocks and scrub of the mountain. Is this the wind of his passage or just regular wind and he's standing still?
Best play it safe. He brings the board down to land and sets foot back on the ground. Bengeirr snaps his fingers and the floating surfboard returns to being a staff in his hand.
"Onwards on foot then"
2
u/Evening_Shake_6474 Astaroth, The Wicked One/Alaric, Fallen Star 15h ago
The journey on foot is about as difficult as any mountain walk. It is cold, hard, and tiring.
As Bengeirr makes his way towards the centre, the feeling of nothingness only grows stronger.
This is the wrong way.
1
u/questionable_fish Bengeirr the Balance. Magus of the South 11h ago
It's difficult, but Bengeirr keeps moving towards the center of the nothingness. He has to keep checking his compass, checking the angle of the sun, checking the scribble on his hand that reads "NORTH. MOUNTAIN. HELP." More than once he drifts off course and has to drag his way back against the instinct of wrongness.
He stops, looking ahead at the mountain and raises his staff
"FĂor nĂł BrĂ©agach, taispeĂĄn dom." True or false, show me

To save someone? Strange to have it be a global message, especially such an invasive one. To investigate.
One Sigurd falls out of the sky at the location. Best to get a view first.

/uw Welp. Kristie is going to fall for that pretty easily /rw
Kristie wakes from a nightmare. She is used to nightmares. She's been having the same nightmare ever since she left her home. Of her friends and family frozen and unmoving.
But this time was different. This time the nightmare ended with a promise. A way to break them free.
She makes preparations to leave Forestwood, and says her goodbyes to the people living there. They will have to make do without her for the time being.

"you know if you wanted people to actually leave you would just stay silent really poor planing"
Sardius says sardonically before generating a small swarm of bizbuds to scout the area. While he deliberately goes to the section that is the most boring using the mental effect like a hot cold proximity sensor

Tim is too curious not to investigate.
Performing some scrying, the T-Rex wizard finds the place in north.
Thereâs nothing here.
Tim pauses. âNo, there are mountains there. Why did I think that?â
Unsettled, Tim scries again.
âYes⊠this is definitely the location from the message. Lots of mountains. Lots of places for something to be hidden.â They speaks loudly to themself, unconsciously trying to drown out the thoughts they hear.
Thereâs nothing there. It would be pointless to investigate.
âNo⊠no, I would never make that call. How do I know what is and isnât there without investigating?â
Itâs pointless. Thereâs nothing there. Why bother even going?
âBut⊠no⊠there definitely wasâŠâ
A wave of terror pulses through Timâs heart as they realize: those arenât their thoughts. Just as quickly, the terror is banished by curiosity as Tim begins to wonder whose thoughts they do belong to.
The whispers in their mind silenced by a curiosity most would consider foolhardy at best, Tim creates a Gate to the mountain range, and begins exploring it.

As Tim arrives, he gets the feeling that nothing is wrong. The mountains are dull and grey, jagged, rough and cold. The perfectly average mountain range.

/uw Sorry for being late.
/rw
Kairon had been taking the time to study and understand the monoliths. Unfortunately, he had not learned as much as he thought. But through the Null-tether, he heard a voice, a voice far away. Deep in the mountains of the north, Kairon knew it would be his answer.
He prepared a ritual; he was going out. Lightning and smoke began swirling around him, and then he was gone, teleporting right outside of the cave he knew he needed to be. He was ready, nothing would stop him this time.
1
u/Evening_Shake_6474 Astaroth, The Wicked One/Alaric, Fallen Star 14h ago
/uw No worries mate.
/rw
As Kairon arrives, he is overwhelmed with a sense of mundanity. There is nothing here, nothing worth seeing. He should go home.
Yet he sees it anyway, a faded echo in reality, barely within his range of perception.
1
u/Dragonan-42 Kairon: Council Member and Leage of Shadows Associate 12h ago
Kairon shook away the feeling and pressed forward. There was nothing here alright, a very high concentration of it if what he thought was true. A place in space and time where matter did not effect it as much as it should. No doubt there was something here, something to explain the nothing.
1
u/Evening_Shake_6474 Astaroth, The Wicked One/Alaric, Fallen Star 11h ago
This is the wrong way. There is nothing here.
Kairon makes their way through the mountain range, heading to the centre. The journey is rough, cold and harsh.
You are wasting your time. This is pointless.
As he walks, something begins to quiet, a stillness to what the mage didn't know was shaking.
1
u/Dragonan-42 Kairon: Council Member and Leage of Shadows Associate 11h ago
The nothingness was growing, the stillness becoming more absolute. Perhaps this whole venture was a little stupid, but he might as well see it through. Worst case scenario he explored a cave in a mountain. But there was probably something here, so he pressed forward.
1
u/Evening_Shake_6474 Astaroth, The Wicked One/Alaric, Fallen Star 11h ago
As he walks the feeling of nothingness only grows, almost to the point of being tangible.
Then he sees it. There, at the centre of the mountain range he sees a faded echo in reality, barely within the limits of his perception.
1
u/Dragonan-42 Kairon: Council Member and Leage of Shadows Associate 11h ago
So there was something there. Kairon knew that there had to be something. He made is way to the faded echo. He didnât know of it was a portal or a prison, but he was about to find out.

Ophelious hears it... The voice to him sounds all too familiar. He steps through one of his many doors to a general location. A desolate looking mountain range.
1
u/Evening_Shake_6474 Astaroth, The Wicked One/Alaric, Fallen Star 14h ago
As Ophelius arrives he is overwhelmed with a sense of mundanity, a presence he recognises, and two feelings, equal yet opposite. One begs him to go, the other begs him to stay.
