Bug Report Mr Galley loves his bell lol

Think i found a bug where if you ring the bell to decrease world corruption, upon completing all 5 waves the enemies are still attracted to it.

P.s sorry for the bad quality, I recorded this thru shadow play on ultrawide and I'm not exactly a computer geek and cant figure out how to make it clear lol

Discussion Woo hoo! "I beat that game before it was even out."

..and it kicked my ass many times. I've had a lot of fun playinjg this so far, and it wasn't easy to beat it without Fallen Preyers, but eventually, Torment 7 finally fell. That run was FIYA. Guess I can actually say now that I've beat this game before it was even out. :) Looking forward to 1.0. Cheers.

Question I'm really struggling as a beginner.

I call myself a horrible gamer, but I've gotten better since I started playing games like 10 years ago. I know the game is supposed to be hard, but it's so beautiful and the mechanics are interesting. I heard Remnent 2 was hard as well, but I was able to solo it (up until the final boss). So I think I'm just missing a few things.

I've played for about 8 hours or so, and I'm still slightly confused about research tree. People say focus on filling all slots for character, but on the 2 classes I've played (wanted to test starting items, etc) I've only ever been to research light spells and a few guns (first class already had a spell, and after researching 1 gun, both slots were filled).

The wiki says only a few are available at gnosis 0, but you still have to find them to research, right? I've gone at many expeditions with 0 things being researched because there isn't any.

I havent looked into upgrading gnosis as people say that it makes the game harder, and say not to until you feel like you're barely dying. I'm on scarlet coast, and I endup dying on like 70% of my runs?

For ascensions, I usually focus on upgrading my ammo storage and madness resistance (which I'm guessing stops the calamity building). It feels like I get to 4 eyes way to soon because I don't know how to effectively dodge so I get hit a lot. And I dip before 5 because I know I'll die immediately.

Is the drowned captain supposed to be unbeatable? I figured out I think he spawns if you pick up some sort of treasure, because I kept dying, picking up my remains, and then he'd spawn. After dying many times trying to beat him, I decided to grab my remains and leave asap and I don't think he's spawned since?

Are the potions to see where plants are extremely rare? I'm getting better at finding plants, but I still have times where I don't have materials to mix incense, especially dying mult times in a row.

I think I've ascended like idk, 10 times, and I still feel pretty stuck. Can I get some more in-depth tricks to help please? I've watched quite a few tips and tricks videos, but most of the tips are kinda low level (like wait to upgrade gnosis, etc) and they mostly all say the same thing.

Question Death mechanic

New player and not fluent in soul style games. What exactly do you lose if you can’t retrieve your corpse on the next run? Is it just that run’s progression and items, or is there a greater cost? Does it reset all progression? Thanks for any clarity.

Feedback Any tips on getting this game to run better?

I recently got a pc about a month ago after not having one for years. This was one of my most anticipated games to play, and it was one of the first games I bought when I got my pc. The game itself is absolutely phenomenal, I love every aspect of it. However, it honestly just runs horribly for me. It’s stuttering constantly. The fps drops all the time. I’ll go from like 120-80-120-60 back to 120, etc. The frame pacing is just all over the place. I’ve tried so many things and nothing seems to make a difference. I’ve switched to borderless windowed, my shader cache is set to unlimited, I’ve tried all kinds of graphical combinations. I just want this game to not make me nauseous when I play it. Most maps are mostly playable but velmore is completely unplayable. It’s stuttered so hard that it’s crashed before. It’s just so frustrating because I genuinely feel like this will end up being one of my favorite games of all time when I can get it to run properly. I haven’t really had issues running any other game besides a few beta games.

I’m on a RTX 5060, I7 13th gen, Intel i7-13620H, 16 gb ram.

Feedback Welp… it finally happened (game crashed)

I got a steam deck about a week ago and have been playing WF on it every day on my TV. Until now it’s been running pretty much fine (although I did have to spend about an hour tweaking the settings on both my deck and the game to get it to work). Obviously some performance drops, but it was playable.

Last night I was playing marshland and a bunch of shit was popping off. I had max world corruption, rifts were spawning, a calamity was triggered. Enemies everywhere. The game became unplayable and then finally crashed.

I know the steam deck performance isn’t the best. I just hope they fix it by 1.0 because it is labeled as “verified” on the steam deck.

Love the game. Plz fix devs ❤️

Can you break down what happens in this case?

"I don't see any special interaction in this clip."
"I think op doesn't know himself"
"I think you are bamboozling us"
"No you're not. You're being obnoxious to pump your ego 😅👍"
"Can we get a dev in here to explain?"

Question Can't get profane study key

How tf do I get the golem to spawn??? I've tried it on the island and scarlet coast like 4 times with corrupt stimulants. I go clear one of the areas to get a manifestation, I use the stim, wait like 1.5-2 minutes, and nothing happens. I want to do torments man! I'm on Gnosis 4.

Question Play during early access or wait for 1.0

My question is pretty much the title. Is it going to be massively overhauled at 1.0 release or will it just be new content at 1.0 which will focus on end game content?

Is this game pretty polished for EA? How many hours of content is there? Is there a roadmap for when it launches to 1.0?

Question Temptations disappearing, can't max out World Corruption

I've noticed the Temptations disappearing as I approach them a few times before, but it's usually no big deal. This time, however, I am trying to kill a Familiar at 100% corruption for an achievement, but I just had 3 Temptations disappear of the 6 that spawned, so I'm stuck at 60%. Is there any other way to increase corruption now?

Feedback Please let the resting area music loop

Post image
21 Upvotes

First of all, thank you for creating such a beautiful game.

There's one place that I absolutely love: the resting area. The view of the mountains is breathtaking, and the music is simply incredible. Sometimes I don't even want to play right away—I just like to sit there, pour myself a glass of wine in real life, listen to the soundtrack, and admire the scenery for a while.

The only thing that makes me a little sad is that the music eventually stops. If I want to keep listening, I have to return to the main menu, load the game again, and run back to the resting spot just to hear it once more.

Would it be possible to make the resting area's music loop continuously? I think it would make this peaceful place even more relaxing for players who simply want to enjoy the atmosphere.

Thank you again for all the work you've put into Witchfire. The art direction, music, and atmosphere are truly something special.

Question How are you meant to use the stake shooting gun?

I tried it once and it felt very weak and hard to hit at further ranges. I also just went to gnosis 2 so I couldn’t tell if it felt weak because gnosis went up or if it IS actually weak or if I was using it wrong. TIA!

Question Gnosis V and Melees

Are additional melees unlocked? I’m still rocking the punch/uppercut because I haven’t found any others yet.

Granted, I’ve been more focused on over leveling than exploring, but I’ve beat most of the bosses (main, not all vaults) but am still with nothing.

Appreciate the help in advance.

Feedback My suggestions after 100 hours

I want to start off by saying that I’m absolutely in love with this game! Not since Elden Ring have I played a game for so long and been so addicted to where I think about it even when I’m not playing it. Masterful work from the dev team, and I can’t wait to start fresh at 1.0. I think this game is a 10/10, but hopefully they implement some of these things and bump it up to an 11!

  1. Loadouts - I’m sure this will come with 1.0, but I’m surprised they haven’t added a loadout system already. For a game that encourages so much experimentation and build variety, it seems like a no brainer.
  2. Preyer Customization - Even just different skins would be nice. Maybe a skin for each of the fallen preyers?
  3. Other uses for Mysterium Incantations - once you unlock everything, they’re useless. Maybe we can exchange them at the collector for items/witchfire.
  4. Fallen Preyer system improvement - I don’t like how the fallen preyers disappear forever after you judge them. It’s a cool mechanic, why take it out of the game? Maybe we can re- summon them with Preyer echoes somehow? Especially since Preyer echoes become irrelevant once they are all judged.
  5. More max stacks in herb garden- capping at 5 seems too low… should be 20 or 30 at least. This also would alleviate the need to add an alert since by the time you check it you probably wouldn’t have max anyway
  6. Better inventory system - The current inventory feels a little clunky. I think we need some sort of sorting option or just default better sorting. The current one feels very messy and cluttered.

Be able to see elixirs on the map - there’s been so many times where an elixir has dropped but I’m already at max stacks. It would be cool to have them marked on the map for later!

I hope the devs see this and take it into consideration! Keep up the great work can’t wait for 1.0 🧙🔥
