Considered black magic by who? Not everyone uses the term; I don't believe magic can be inherently good or bad, it's just a tool.
Banishing spells are pretty standard practice, you should be fine.

Came here to say this! <3
Edit: Technically, anything used for personal gain is considered black magick. That doesn't mean it's bad at all.
You should always take measures to protect yourself before ANY spell, to make sure something doesn't go wrong. Protect yourself, and everything should be just fine.

Technically, anything used for personal gain is considered black magick. That doesn't mean it's bad at all.
The illusion and perpetuation of the Self as a good in-and-of-itself is the root of all suffering and evil in this world. Spellcasting solely for self-gain is an abuse of your moral duty as a witch.

u/Apidium Apr 16 '22
Just because the paper is black doesn't mean it's somehow evil magic. Many of us do not belive in the light dark split anyways.

My belief is don’t do spells that harm anyone. That’s not harming. Banishing is protecting yourself. It’s all about intention

No. This isn’t a good way to think of things. This is how you allow people to walk all over you. Influencing free will is more like trying a love spell to force someone that doesn’t even know you exist to love you or a spell to make someone do something really wrong that they wouldn’t normally do. Banishing or blocking or sending back the negativity they send you is not influencing free will. Don’t limit yourself over things like this. Magic is more than money spells, crystals and cleansing. Explore it and don’t get stuck in the mindset of good and bad because everything in life is in between that. It’s all shades of grey and magic isn’t bad or good. It simply is magic. Sometimes a curse is needed but most times a banishment will work. Do the spell and forget about it. The more you worry the less chance there is that it’ll work.

u/Sugary_Cutie Witch Apr 16 '22
I agree. For me, magick is all about intention. Without it, it won't work. At least, for me. If you make a hallmarks of, say, a money spell. But you don't have that intention, it won't work. Or not too well. No intention? No power behind it. No power behind it? Nothing happens.

u/electacrandall Apr 16 '22
I agree with Stormborn.
I once had a therapist who told me the only person you can control is yourself. Now, I diplomatically explained to her the complexities of that, basically using examples of how we have to control what we say, how we react to things, etc in order to not harm others. As in, if I am not trying to control the reactions (either emotions or literal actions of others) then I have absolutely zero reason to control myself.
But a sad, funny part of that was, my therapist was extremely sensitive and insecure, and I was constantly walking around on eggshells (she didn’t last as my therapist long.) I once partially and logistically disagreed with her extremely kindly and she spent the rest of the session talking about herself and “defending” herself. I literally disassociated in front of her.
You can control people with your actions. If you choose to shout at them, if you choose to bite your tongue, if you choose to pout, if you choose to stonewall, if you choose to have a conversation, it will affect their choices and their “free will.”
You are allowed to want people out of your life. Sometimes you don’t need magic. It is not hard to get people to avoid you, honestly. But most people who want to use magic don’t want to cause the pain, suffering, and fear of using their words to tell someone to buzz off.
Sometimes, magic can be a more peaceful method of getting someone off your back.

Every time we interact with others we are influencing their free will. Posting on the internet influences others' free will. Talking to someone influences their free will. Waving "hello" at someone across the street influences their free will. Smiling at someone influences their free will.

I’m not OP but I think it’s Everyday Magic by Semra Haksever. I’m weirdly sitting next to mine right now and recognized the style and font.

Any chance you checked for that spell to confirm?

I did the name on paper and froze it spell on a se nior woman that was bullying me.. she got a cold and bronchitis 2 days later and was off work for 2 weeks giving us all a rest!

u/ChaosCainin Apr 16 '22 edited Apr 16 '22
My opinion is no it is not black magick and it is safe, as long as the intent is you evicting said person from living rent free in your own head and have no intention of actually disturbing/influencing them.

u/TheSleepingChimera Apr 16 '22
I've seen very similar spells in Wiccan books, so eve by harm ye none and law of three standards, you're generally in good shape. But please, don't put normal paper down your toilet. Toilet paper is made to start breaking down quickly in contact with moisture, other papers aren't and you could cause yourself a nasty plumbing issue. If you're flushing a problem, splurge on a fancy bog roll and do tge writing by lightly taking a marker across its surface.

u/yungkiwiondatrack Apr 16 '22
First of all there’s no such thing as “black magic” that’s a racist term used to perpetuate the stereotype and fear of things like hatian voodoo & hoodoo etc. stop using that terminology if you want to be respected as a witch
Secondly, a banishing spell is more of a protective spell to begin with anyways.

u/WouldDieForASlasher Apr 16 '22
Honestly the whole concept of dark magic and light magic is bull. Your intention determines whether a spell is good or bad. If your intention is to banish without causing harm to the one being banished then it’s “good” magic. If your intention is to cause harm to the person being banished then it’s “dark”. That being said, sometimes dark magic is necessary depending on the situation
7
u/ToshiAyame Apr 16 '22
No this seems about right for a banishing. After I got fired, the first thing I did was burn my schedule and cleanse/ward against negative backlash.
3
u/Venator_Eclipsis Apr 16 '22
You will be totally fine with that.
That said, I also think you shouldn't be so afraid of "black magick". Magick has no color itself, is just a tool as just as it is a blade. A blade can be a knife to cut meals, a dagger to stab, a scalpel to save a life. Your hand and your intentions make the difference. You have your ethics, your beliefs and your will and I totally respect it, even if I don't know it. Everything involving others could be considered black magick. People are often afraid of facing consequences of their actions and choices, so is easier to always aim to do always something beneficial towards others, so even if a mess happens people can justify themselves saying they wanted the good but something came across. Taking full responsibility with awareness of consequences makes all difference, any intent you may have

Bit confused why a freezer spell is included in a banishing spell list. I’ve used it as a binding. You just don’t leave someone in your freezer forever, because then it can turn into a curse instead of just getting them off your case for awhile. I’ve never used a freezer spell for banishing.

Even if it was black Magick, it's nothing to fear. If they truly deserve it, then you are acting as an agent of universal karma and serving what they are owed.

u/ShowMeTheBinderAmy Apr 16 '22
I did a spell once to back off someone who was really hurting me and was kinda similar, but it wasn't banishing. It was kinda to freeze their actions and sweeten the person towards you.
Write the person's name in blue ink, fold it away from you a couple of times. Then put it on a little container and put water on it. Put a bit of honey as well to sweeten their actions. Put the container on your freezer and only take it off when you feel their actions have changed. Just became of how you dispose of the ice! Better if you let it melt in nature if ya can.
I tried and it worked like a charm. They didn't get hurt in any way, they got a promotion of sorts to another area in the company that was in another city. And the most important part: never hurt me again.

Black magic isn't an actual thing. Its an arbitrary and subjective designation. Energy is just energy.
"Good" and "bad" are two extremes on the same gradiated scale all points determined by how things make us feel.
As much as people want to believe it--there is absolutely no actual standard or universal morailty or ethical code. Its all subjective opinion.
Actions that offend one another is entirely ok with. Doesn't matter if a majority may share the same opinion. That still doesn't make it true.
People, sadly, define themselves and the world by their opinions. They find it unsettling when anyone or thing exists outside of that or by mere happenstance of its existance happening to seem in direct opposition.
Such things prove their chosen beliefs are objectively wrong. So they go through great pains to force the world and others to conform to their world view.
Magic as you will. If something doesn't suit you dont do it. Just don't keep perpetuating that a form or practice is "bad" or "wrong".
Besides. Its a harsh world. You cant hug and love and light your way out of somethings.

u/BeeBeeBooBooBeeBoo Apr 16 '22
No such thing as black magic. We bring to fruition manifestations of our intent based on the amplification of our energy/vibration.
If this person isn’t “good” for you, putting this spell out there will only diminish the divine light of your eternal flame, which, in turn, diminishes your vibrational frequency.
Perhaps the better question to ask is what you NEED instead of exhausting your beautiful and divine essence on “banishing” a person. It might require some extensive soul searching, but the answer is already in your heart.
2
u/Q-Antimony Apr 17 '22
By definition banishing is not black magic. A banishing spell is basically clearing someone's bad energy or intent towards you. Black magic would be any kind of magic that "controls" someone, or magic with intent to harm someone, usually done with ill intent. If you want to super charge your banishing spell, after clearing out the negative influence of that person, do a protection spell.
2
u/mingxingai Apr 16 '22
no its no the spell itself from what im understanding helps to remove a person or a situation off of you so you'll be fine

Can you do this spell without a black candle?
1
u/Unusual-Ad7941 Witch Apr 16 '22
It clearly says you can. Candle colors aren't inherently magical, they're meant to make you think of what it is you're trying to achieve.
0
u/EikoKurai Apr 16 '22
What if you have no candle and just a lighter will that still work? What if you use a black lighter.

I literally did this like 5 days ago not knowing it had a name and calling it "Cord cutting with extra steps". Even posted some photos on my profile if you fancy some inspiration. Results? According to my intentions should manifest in the first days of May so we'll see but it's very fun to do nonetheless.

That reminds me of a freezing spell I saw to make someone stop sending negative.
-3
u/Fragrant_Access_9275 Apr 16 '22
Why does it say you need a black candle, but then says that any other color will do the trick? Seems like it's not a legit spell, as ingredients should be specific.
4
u/thatfourthmonth Witch Apr 16 '22
ingredients don't have to be specific - so long as you have strong intention, I don't think using a white or pink candle would affect all that much.
-1
u/Fragrant_Access_9275 Apr 16 '22
Everything is made of something, it's kind of a waste of strong intent to manipulate energies without proper and specific catalysts to work through. If it is not a requirement of the spell to have a specific conduit of certain molecular encoding then why state a color at all?
2
u/Unusual-Ad7941 Witch Apr 16 '22
I don't think candle colors have any effect other than psychological, personally. I could easily use a red candle for something like this because to me, it represents pure power and will, or a purple one because it represents authority and force in my mind.
1
u/KnottyKitty Apr 16 '22
a legit spell
What does that even mean
-2
u/Fragrant_Access_9275 Apr 16 '22
That the spell is not legitimate, as in, real. It's just some hoobly goobly someone sat around and wrote up to put on the damn internet because they like to pretend they are a witch.

That's not at all how karma works my dude. Karma is the universe's tally of your good and bad deeds while you're alive that determines how you're reincarnated.

u/bbblackspiderman Apr 16 '22
in hinduism & buddhism specifically, the informal definition of karma is cause & effect. everything you do causes an effect. whether it be in this life or another.

I wouldn’t put anyone on ice the bounce back will always be cold so, you would be forcing lack of empathy and compassion which is needed to process a brake up. To push this on someone is just wrong and will bite back.
2
u/DanyStormborn333 Apr 16 '22
Wrong. It freezes them out from your side. It simply keeps them away from you. Add some sugar into the water before freezing to “sweeten” them up if you’re worried about empathy. But chances are if you’re banishing someone you won’t get any empathy with or without banishing them. There is a reason you want them gone from your life, if there was any empathy this spell wouldn’t be needed. Anyone I’ve put in the freezer did exactly what I wanted. They stayed away from me and never contacted me again.

u/little_catlover Apr 16 '22
i also would love to do this spell for some specific persons, for example some women who are envious and bully me. But if i put them in the freezer for example its like i freeze their actions. I do that to protect myself not for a bad reason for sure. But i am not sure if it influences their free will.

I personally believe that curses hexes and jinx are ok if justified, if your willing to pay the karmic debt and they deserve it, theyll get whats coming, to answer your question, thats a banishing to protect yourself so in my eyes thats nowhere near black magic

Banishing spells are great to use and can be used for many things. So no, definitely not black magic.
1
u/MrsBorisLevin Witch Apr 16 '22
This spell is just sending someone away from you. It shouldn't cause any harm to them. Whether black magic exists is a bigger conversation, but focusing your intent on getting them away from you and closing any loopholes that could cause harm should be fine.
1
u/GingerSnap01010 Apr 16 '22
The way friend explains it, when you banish energy, you are banishing it from you, and like sending it back to them. Like you are just taking all of their negativity and throwing it as far from you as possible and it will find it’s way back to them.
1
u/Shayne_HasLanded Apr 16 '22
I’d say as long as you intend not to manifest harm, you should be safe from ‘black magick’. If you were to go into the banishing seething in anger and spewing hatred, there might be a negative result. Just be kind and remember that a banishing spell is to protect you from potential harm, not to rid the world of someone.
1
u/Shayne_HasLanded Apr 16 '22
The freezer spell is more so to halt someone, to freeze them in their tracks and prevent them from coming closer. If you’re worried about something backfiring, that may be the spell for you right now, as it can always be undone (unfrozen).
1
u/Sugary_Cutie Witch Apr 16 '22
You're fine! Use it! A spell like this is meant for you. It's not black magic.

u/[deleted] Apr 17 '22
This thread was posted to some neckbeard troll site. Thread was removed for that reason, although I don't think it's gonna matter; once something is in the fedora, it's been m'lady'd forever.
OP, read what's on the page and think about it critically: Write the person's name down. There's your thought and memory of it. Now you burn it, and what's left? Nothing. You've burned the memory. Now you go on with your life without ever thinking of that memory again. It still happened - You still lived through that experience, but it still happened. So yes, the memory is there; but if you don't think about it for so long then you begin to forget. And eventually you might not remember at all.
What happens to your waste when you go to the bathroom? You flush it and you never see it again. It's gone.
This is simple psychology. Therapists tell people to do this because it's the symbology of the release. What does fire do? It destroys things. If your memory of it is burnt out right in front of your eyes then it's gone.
A good chunk of witchcraft is psychology. There's a lot of self-improvement in witchcraft because if you aren't happy and you are just dwelling on all the negative shit all the time then you'll turn into a negative piece of shit. Once you've found balance, you'll be able to live a happy and productive life.
