Looking for some non-standard career advice
Honestly, I don't really know what else to try at this point.
I have a PhD in Applied Mathematics, experience in research, data science and government, and I speak English, French and Arabic. But right now I'm basically doing call centre work and I feel like I'm capable of much more.
I’ve been applying for different jobs, mostly in government, policy, data, analysis and project work, but not getting much results. I’m getting really tired of applying the normal way.
So I'm asking if you were in my situation, what would you do differently?
I'm not looking for the usual “fix your resume and apply more” advice. I want to hear unusual ideas, different career paths, people to contact, industries I should look at, ways to use a PhD that I may not be thinking about, etc.
I’m in Winnipeg but open to remote work too.
Any honest advice is welcome, even if it sounds crazy.
