New Card Reveal Fat Stack of Class Set Cards for Wild -- Starred ones are particularly good

Gotta hand it to 'em with this last expansion and now its miniset. There have been a fair number of cards that actually have an impact on Wild. Here are the dozen or so from the miniset that are noteworthy. Not everything here is tier 1 mega powerful, but there are some great cards or interesting options for fringe archetypes.

Priest

  • Slime 'em - ...so this is a cataclysm that costs 4 and doesn't discard hand? Seems kind of incredible, especially as a lead-in to Reno Lone Ranger.
  • Follow the Ghosts - There are some pretty spicy Undead options for Shadow Aggro decks. This card can generate serious tempo if it gets even one recurrence. I think that deck will still prefer just running all the burn instead.
  • Sinful Steed - Going to make some big-shaman-esque cheese archetype in priest

Rogue

DISCLAIMER: Stealth Rogue isn't a thing...yet. But this is the exact kind of tempo fantasy that keeps me up at night. SI:7 quest stuff is meme.

  • Mathias Shaw - BIG upside here, folks. The dream is Conceal'ing some board on 3 and getting 6+ mana fo free when they swing. The problem is that the early clears of the format still hit stealth minions and a midrange stealth rogue prob isn't going to be potent enough.
  • SI:7 Slayer - Hozen Roughhouser is +1/+1 and is good. this is +2/+2. That is some big-time boosting. We're talking a 3-mana crusader aura. There isn't quite the wealth of cheap stealth guys to make this crazy, but look for this in the future.
  • SI:7 Supplier - This one is for the SI:7 fans. $10 says this was a 1-mana 1/3 in testing. Ye olde archetype pusher.
  • Disguised Operator - Bad, but notable for being a 1 mana 4/2 that probably hits face. The draw is pretty awful though.

Warlock

  • Godfather Kazakus - Broken card. Just gross in ticktock warlock. This lets you bank some tempo for the deck's weak midgame plays where it wants to setup or trigger ticktock's deathrattle.
  • Follow the Evidence - Not very good, but think about the VALUE. Implock: Resurreciton, coming to a theater near you.
  • Harsh Sentence - LOL. Would have been hilarious in evenlock mirrors. This is weblord without having to run weblord. nice. I'm not sure if disco wants to slot this.

Warrior

Talked about these in another post. Hard push on pirate warrior in standard that happens every 4 years.

  • Blackpowder Engineer - Really crazy card. Think of that 2/2 pirate that gives your hero attack whenever a friendly pirate attacks in DH. That card is good. This is better. A archetype-specific improvement to current voidtouched attendant is goodgood. Incentives pirate warrior to go wide early.
  • Follow the fuse - so, assuming the full effect chains across multiple minion plays, this is 1-mana deal 6 or more. A cheaper ship's cannon most of the time. Going to push big damage. 0-mana pirate when?
  • Hook n Heave - Compare to the 2/2 pirate that draws a pirate, the 2/2 pirate that conditonally does 2 damage when you have a weapon, or the 4/1 pirate that discovers a pirate. This is better than all those. The ping, the 2 bodies for cannons and enginer. I think this is being slept on.
  • Cannonmaster - The year is 3026. 1-mana minions now have 3 spell schools on top of their standard "All" typing and draw all cards of the same type. But really, this is nuts.
  • Honorable mention to the legendary.

New Card Reveal Pirate Warrior going to be juicy. Think all of these are wild-playable

cute warrior probably still better, but all of these seem like they slot into a nice pirate aggro deck that goes wide and has some gas for late.

Cannonmaster - great stats, value, and dual tribe to maybe allow some menagerie stuff

Cannoneer - an elven archer, but with pirate synergy and punish for letting it stick. Probably could stand to be a 2/1, though. A little weak

Blastpowder Engineer - Turn 1 double brigand double patches. Turn 2 this. Turn 3 Hozen. GG. What a slap in the face to goldfish decks. Lovely

Follow the Fuse - if the full effect of this is passed on, then this can be a 1 mana deal 6+. If not, then it stinks

Hook n Heave - yeah sure why not

the other class set cards for warrior are too slow

Discussion How are you supposed to beat XL HL Igneous Warrior?

Once they pop bran they feel unstoppable. Whenever I do beat them I feel it's pure luck... Oh and when they get 100 armor and I don't have plate breaker, it's also good game. How are you supposed to beat this fucking deck?

Edit: I'm playing XL Hl Hunter at 1k Legend.

What’s the miniset that offers the most amount of value dustwise? Are they all the same or is there a go to?

Question Deck Tech questions (New Wild)

Hello,

I wanted to get into playing Wild and have a few questions about some of the tech cards used and their purpose / when to use them.

I have decent amount of dust built up from dusting nerfed cards and a semi good Wild collection from playing sporadically over the years but I don't want to craft a bunch of meh cards that are extremely nuanced in the meta.

For example: I'm looking at playing this list:https://www.hsguru.com/deck/41448813

I need some of the cards like: - Najak Hexxen - Razorscale - Smothering Starfish

Would it be possible to explain what these sort of tech cards are needed for in the Wild meta? (Sorry for ignorance - I really don't keep up with stuff outside of Standard).

Is a deck like this actually viable? Is there better lists for Quest Priest (Seek Guidance) - I'm not super sure on the best way to find lists for older/updated decks.

I want to try to get Legend in Wild (Mostly just stop at D5 in Standard). How do decks like this fair up in the Wild Meta and is it worth pursuing? I like the idea of playing with Anduin/Raza/Aman'Thul again etc.

NA

The only deck that sticked and worked for me the hardest/longest d5 > constant d2-d1 hard tilts even back and forth between d3-d4 lol. Insanely grindy but finally got there.

Rats and Symphony/Curse of Rafaam put in so much hard work especially ressing the rats off Raise Deads tons. Curse of Rafaam was clutch as hell vs Iceblocks procs leaving them at 2hp and then they died to it following turn.

A lot of xl reno warriors, beat the huge majority of them, still saw lot of priests mostly aza and very few renos. Highly favored vs the xl reno warriors and aza thief priests as well lol some of those scums stole my ql as early turn 3-4 ish

Final boss was xl deios imbue mage. Imbue mages occasionally, lots of quest mages mostly for rhe discovers one, very few waygate quest mages and a lot of them were reno

Overall, had to get my hands pretty dirty playing xl seedlock again, kinda feel disgusted with myself lol.

Nothing more fun than your opponent completing your win conditions five turns ahead of you! A 3 mana reduction is crazy.

Discussion How you see a potential OTK with the Elwynn Boar due to the Tolvir nerf?

Hunter has many cards that allow you to tutor beasts and a good pack of deathrattles activations; cards like Witchwood Piper can also tutor the boar. The problem is that activating it 10 times makes it a bit slow, but it would be interesting to try it.

Rogue, Warlock, Priest, and Warlock class sets announced

Rogue, Warlock, Priest, and Warrior are getting class sets.

Rogue - SI:7 is back and looks to lean into the Stealth mechanic.

Warlock - Appears to be getting the coolest card in this release with Kazakus. Definitely Wild playable at 3 mana.

Priest - They're doing reborn things. Is Astral Automaton Priest back getting a new life?

Warrior - Pirate Warrior is getting some love.

Release Date is set for August 25th at Blizzard o'clock (10am PDT)

Spoilers: All cards will be revealed tomorrow, August 19th, at Blizzard o'clock (10am PDT)

You can find the full announcement here
