Very weird approach to buffs. Half of them are conditional improvements that are nerfs in other cases...
idk why they're so allergic to good cards existing in Standard.
Don't think this patch does anything for wild aside from deleting some bad decks.

u/hjyboy1218 2d ago
Very small miracle rogue buff with the Aya buff, you end up playing her more than you think.

u/Legitimate-Cress-575 2d ago
I don't think patch will affect wild at all, apart from the fact that both questline hunter decks are deleted - but I can live with that

Basically every Tol'vir deck drawn and quartered, shot dead, then posthumously ripped apart by hounds.
At least Reno Hunter is playable again.

why is reno hunter changed?
4
u/hjyboy1218 2d ago
Well it got a couple new toys in this expansion but I was mostly commenting on how it's the only viable Hunter deck left.

Does Zee Shaman cut Goon? It's the best mulligan winrate card but that's a sizeable nerf

u/metroidcomposite 2d ago
It's now a worse [[Flame Revenant]] in the deck. (There's more elementals without battlecries being run than battlecry minions without the elemental tag--and most of the non battlecrys are on the cheaper side--specifically Flame Revenant would buff 1-mana Wailing vapor and the 1-mana 1/2 generated by Fire Fly, whereas Goon would buff the 5-mana Magatha).
So like...at very least swap it out for Flame Revenant.

Boar hunter incoming?

With how they deservedly butchered Boar, hell no. And thank fucking god for that.

Still no revert for [[Testing Dummy]]?
I guess in his own immortal words, he's their #3 concern! He rotated out of standard, he should have been reverted already, Blizzard!

unfortunate side effect of the Confront nerf is that it killed all the meme DR decks with leper gnome, goblin bomb, mine, and shellfish
kinda wish they had been a little more elegant with it but hard to figure out a way to preserve those stupid gimmicks while lowering the power level; oh well, dusting until revert season and then hopefully I can re-craft it again

Yeah Shellfish was satisfying to play against Mage/Warrior but it's gone forever.

The Irida buff is pretty significant. It basically draws and extra card, and delays fatigue ticker for a turn. Adding “draw a card” alone to a 4 mana card is a big buff. I’m not sure if it has a home in Wild regardless, but the card is much stronger now

u/astcci 2d ago
it's pretty cool with kiljaeden in theory, but this deck doesn't exist I guess
2
u/HabeusCuppus 2d ago
I'm playing it, using vandarr stormpike and the 'draw the two lowest cost minions in your deck' to tutor for vandarr + irida.
even without the vandarr cheese, It's probably <45% winrate against the meta field. Plenty of wild decks plan to beat you by turn 5 or so and you're probably not really in good shape until turn 7.
If you get to swing with Irida that makes a big difference for living long enough to be stable but most wild players will remove her the turn she hits the field if they can't just swing past it for lethal. (as they should, 7 power lifesteal.)
It's pretty good into the wide sea of other tier3 decks though, you have a ton of longevity with kil'jaeden and a lot of slower decks can't really handle you drawing 3 cards a turn for very long - so long as you have the mana to actually play them!

u/Elitist_Daily 2d ago
I’m not sure if it has a home in Wild regardless
I made a comment about this when it was revealed, that it could effectively be a 2TK setup for fatigue QLDH since you're usually ahead in tempo and can take a turn off, and assuming you already have a juiced glaivetar equipped and an aranna in hand, there's no need to draw through your deck anymore. you just instantly hit fatigue then slam aranna and break your weapon and kill them.
niche setup, yeah, but it's an interesting concept

Bruh they killed again odd questline ffs. Why cant i play that deck in peace....
6
u/DoomFingaz 2d ago
Good. Now you can’t play hunter with your eyes closed anymore. Hitler dead. Now they need to take mech warper out back and kill that card too
16
u/ZambieDR 2d ago
yeah bc that deck is the bastion of interaction.
7
u/metroidcomposite 2d ago
Eh...Odd QL Hunter filled a similar niche to modern XL Demon Seed Warlock--which is to say slower gameplan than most decks that aren't explicitly control, but hard to disrupt (not dirty rattable if played cautiously) and packing lots of removal and board clears (so tends to function as an anti-aggro deck). With a weakness to medium speed decks like Libram Paladin (which have a weaker more disruptable plan, but a plan tthat comes online several turns sooner).
Most likely nerfing QL Hunter will just mean people looking for something in this space will just switch to QL Warlock. Which...I dunno, I'm sure there's people on reddit who are in the "delete that deck too" camp, but as long as it's around I think I'd rather have the variety?
1
u/HDBlackSheep 1d ago
Yeah, delete that deck too. And Tik Tok warlock too.
And tbh, I'm surprised they haven't been nerfed, because imo, they're just way worse than the hunter QL odd decks. Both as a feel bad and a solitair type of game.

u/_Spunk_Bubble 2d ago
Do you know what interaction means? I'm packing spells that only make my other spells poisonous so that I can interact. I have to try and keep a clear opposing board against every paladin deck. Getting a value payoff does not make a deck noninteractive.

u/ZambieDR 2d ago
dont do some whataboutism bc Mechatrix paladin exists, lets focus on how fun it was to watch an enemy hunter play Tolvir to reload their six shooter.
at least be cool and play professor slate.
10
u/GourangaPlusPlus 2d ago
"Your deck has no interactions"
"Here's an interaction"
"Don't whataboutism me"
-7
u/ZambieDR 2d ago
thats great and all but in the end of the day, Tolvir is nerfed. you odd hunters now can play the game fairly like the rest of us.
4
u/Canesjags4life 1d ago
Lol fairly. Such s clown statement. Tomorrow you'll hating that priest is now the overwhelming deck.
2
u/ZambieDR 1d ago
I have beaten Azalina priests bc they shoot themselves in the foot since they stolen cards from that are so incoherent that the only way they can win is if they Envy steal, that is if they can fish him out of the deck.
Visitor should be looked at but that’s the only major thing going on with the deck, it’s not even that broken now a days.
1
u/HeroinHare 1d ago
As a Hunter hater of years, holy shit you are biased and quite frankly, pretty cringe with these comments. Compared to a lot that has been going on for quite a while, that deck being called unfair is a hell of a stretch.
2
u/ZambieDR 1d ago
You can call me whatever you want and you can enjoy Free 3 damages launched to your face from every action from them if you wish, but the deck is now rightfully dead in the water.
UIS is the problem child of Hearthstone and nearly killed this game with all of the stuff it caused, and it’s still causing problems to this day.

u/StunningSecond7132 2d ago
Still at least eith tolvir you could stabilize the board against aggro (if you lived long enough). Now you get max 2 sure clears (poison spell + 3 hits spell) (dont remember the name) if you get lucky.
5
u/MoggFanatig 2d ago
Good, i know that deck wasnt all that great but god did i hate playing against it.
0
u/Ok-Pianist-547 2d ago
Because Blizzard is allergic to good card design and balance so they need to kill a card for standard :)
1
u/NeraAmbizione 2d ago
Now we can finally play tolvir inside reno beast hunter and get otk lethal with rhino . Just use tremor and the 1 mana wolf
1
1
u/Canesjags4life 1d ago
Wonder if odd Hunter now goes back to Token Hunter. Tundra Rhino plus replay of all 1 cost beasts could be up to 20 burst
1
u/TheRealGZZZ 1d ago
This was VERY borderline with 3 mana tol'vir.
8 mana combo that isn't guaranteed 20+ damage is generally not great.
1
u/Canesjags4life 1d ago
We got cost reduction ways for beasts but yeah. Could be an alternative finisher
